Crocheting to me is a little more then just crocheting. It brings me peace, it calms me down, it gives me something to look forward to.
I started crocheting only very recently and I’ve found myself legit making something everyday since. It all started out as a new hobby. I’ve already tried painting…which I suck, I’ve done writing( which isn’t going anywhere), drawing and so many more things. Well one day I got a sudden urge to find a hobby that included my hands. I knew I wanted to make things but had no idea what avenue to even look down. Then BOOM….Raven , you should learn how to crochet.
And that’s where it all began. I started to research on YouTube and google about crocheting, things you can make, can it possibly turn into a business etc. I went to my all time favorite store…hobby lobby. If you know you know lol, and got about 2 different color yarns and every size hook from 4mm to 9mm. I must admit it was hard. I couldn’t start a chain, my stitch count was all messed up but I stuck through it. I kept researching YouTube videos that included “ for beginners”.
The first thing I made was a headband for my daughter, then I made her a cross bag. It wasn’t the best but she loved it, which give me so much confidence( because kids don’t lie). I kept working and working and here I am now.
I’ve mastered the basic stitches and a few others. I finally learned how to crochet a magic circle and work in a round. Now I make clothes, bags, stuff animals and much more.
Now it’s my go-to. If I’m stressed..I crochet, If im happy, mad, sad, etc I crochet. I mediate and crochet and it’s the best thing for me.
I said that to say never give up. If things get hard , keep going because it won’t always be hard. We as a species adapt very well. Keep pushing , keep going , keep crocheting
