Yeah, I’m going to move Croire to MV, the art style is so much better and there’s even a much better ABS for it than SAS IV

I think I might move to RPG Maker MV, there's an ABS for that engine that looks promising and the art style for the face graphics looks a lot better
I suppose it’s come time to officially put the project on hiatus. I’ve been trying to find a job so I can continue to take classes, and I will continue working on the game in the interim, but there won’t be any more updates for a while. My apologies.

Let’s talk about orcs
At a later point in the game I’m planning on having the party visit an orc village in the mountains to try to gain their alliance to overthrow King Cain. Orcs are a common species in fantasy. They represent the faceless hordes of enemies and are generally portrayed as always-chaotic-evil. But in Croire they’re a little different. Orcs in Croire have a matriarchal society, where the women are the ones ruling the roost and doing the fighting and hunting and such. Male orcs tend to stay in the village and do things like smithing weapons, growing food(mushrooms in their case since they live underground) and generally keeping things running smoothly while the warriors are away. Male orcs in Croire represent a minority of them(around 25%) and don’t get out of the village much, so they’re less battle-scarred but still toned from farming and smithing. I’ll post concept art later.

Alright, I know it’s been MONTHS since the last update, but please bear with me. I’ve been on a job hunt and that’s been taking up a lot of my time. The next update will be worth the wait, though, since it brings an overhaul to the way shops are handled(using the Yanfly Ace Shop Options script)

Good news! I figured out how to fix the bug with monsters being able to move around and attack while a message box is open. Expect the fix for that in the next update.
I hope to be able to work on the game over winter break
Accompanying the message busts will be a change to the way cutscenes are done. Instead of changing according to who the party leader is, I decided that Valery will be the person talking in the major story cutscenes involving the playable characters. I'm doing this partly so I can show emotions in the message busts and partly to reinforce that this is largely her story. Also, the Soldier will undergo a slight design change.
Bit of a teaser for an upcoming feature: Message busts. You know how in Fire Emblem the characters show up as portraits above text boxes? Well, it just so happens that Galv has a script for that. So here's what Valery looks like when she's talking.
