“Sai sempre cosa dire,” Maddalena confessed when he placed his hand over the Italian’s heart. She could feel the pace of her heart quicken yet somehow was completely put at ease in tandem with the prince’s words. Yet, even that couldn’t stop the woman from allowing her desire to find the others get the better of her. Tugging Declan along, Maddalena guided him towards the first place she thought to look, their rooms. Unfortunately, at their arrival, it was discovered that the Tulach House had become completely uninhabitable. The storm doing far more damage than could have been expected and as a result, the princess could only allow her green irises to fixate on the flood-damaged building as her bottom lip caught between her teeth. A nervous habit that followed with a squeeze of his hand before her gaze fixated on the dark-haired prince. “Non avrebbero potuto essere …” she trailed off, shaking her head as if it would somehow clear her thoughts from the notion that they all could have been in the building. Though that was highly unlikely what with her brothers constantly being anywhere but where she had expected them to be. “A loro piace mangiare,” she finally suggested, hoping the dining hall or kitchen would be the long-awaited answer. 

“Anni di dovervi calmarvi e rassicurarvi.” He said with a small smirk on his face and a bit of playfulness shining in his eyes. Even when he playfully complained about having to do things with or for Maddalena, he never truly minded doing them as he knew that it would make her happy and whenever she was happy then he was happy. As she guided him around, he didn’t say anything but he was equally as worried as she was when they saw the destruction of the Tulach House. He held her closer to his side as she squeezed his hand and bit her lip. “Shh probabilmente non erano lì dentro, continuiamo a cercare, tutto andrà bene, lo so.” At least he hoped that everything would be fine, he doubted they could handle anymore stress right now. “Sì, andiamo verso il cibo.” He said, hoping they were there.

        the overwhelming warm feeling now overtaking her was entirely welcome, there were few instances since she arrived that she truly felt safe. this was one of those few, but it wasn’t exactly a surprise, declan had always been the older brother she’d always wanted. someone to look up to, and someone to run to in times of danger. he and pippa were two of the most incredibly important people in her life and that had only heightened with the time they spent stuck here. “ i saw the DAMAGE… “ her voice trailed off, frowning slightly as she thought about the place she’d been staying at. “ repairs are going to take a while i’m sure. “ which in her mind was unacceptable, why should they be punished for something they couldn’t control? “ has the pirate who is watching over you not suggested otherwise? “ more things she wanted to change, the idea of having to see people she cared about down there, she didn’t like it. she shook her head at the mention of pippa. “ shall we go look for her? “ she suggested, as she looked around the now incredibly messy scenery around them. “ safety in numbers after all right? “

Declan didn’t say it often, but he was incredibly proud of the crown princess that was his sister in every sense of the word except blood. Aria had a bit of a mouth on her yes, but she was also fierce, smart, and held herself well in many different kinds of stressful situations, including being captured and dealing with the storm, he knew she’d make a great Queen when the day came. :Yeah it was pretty bad, but everything is going to be fine soon I imagine.” He honestly just preferred to be going home as soon as possible and saying to hell with the island, “My pirate’s villa has some damage I believe.” He said with a shrug instead turning his mind to other matters, “You’re staying with your pirate right?” While he didn’t care much for the dungeons himself, he definitely didn’t want his family down there either.

IT WAS THE SOFT PATTER OF RAIN — lulling her, entrancing her, calming whatever beast is harbored within. her veins burn with hatred towards this place, eyes tired with no victories in her escape as she squints to peek at her exposed toes. the porcelain skin is dotted with water droplets as rain cascades downward in its beautiful descend before her. catriona finds shelter in a overhang in front of the canteen, but still wishes to taste rain, hence her exposed feet which sat outstretched past the overhang … “ nothing like the storm before, is it? ” she glances up at them, sensing their approach. *

Declan had just finished eating and was heading out of the canteen when he paused, he was only a little surprised to see a light rain falling and also seeing someone who was seeming to enjoy it, he had enough rain for a while after the storm. However, just as he was leaving when that same someone asked him a question and he stopped and answered, “No, this is way more bearable, maybe even relaxing.”

Pippa wasn’t sure how many days passed since she was confined to bed. A day or two, maybe three. The most she could remember was her argument with William Kaiser. The man was an immoral, corrupt bastard and if she could have she would have found another doctor to treat her. Stupid cold! Not only did it force her to deal with Mr. Kaiser she still didn’t know if her brother, family, or friends were all right thanks to it. She thought about getting out of bed but her body screamed, ‘no, let’s stay longer.’ A groan left her mouth at that moment. Not the most ladylike thing to do but she didn’t care. It wasn’t as if anyone else was in the room with her or was there? Opening first one eye and then the other she scanned the room for any signs of life. At first, she found no one but then her eyes fall upon her brother’s face. “Declan!”

Something was wrong. He had checked on every family member or friends here on the island to make sure they were safe and didn’t need anything. Declan didn’t know what it was but he knew something was wrong and the worry was driving him crazy. He had started looking for answers in the most logical place for a person to go if they were sick: the doctors.. After a bit of frustration and a lot of unnecessary arguing the doctor finally told him where he could find his sister. That’s how he found himself by her bedside waiting for her to wake. “Don’t move.” When he heard her groan, “I’m sure you’re still feeling achy.” When she said his name, he smiled, at least she was aware, “Next time can you send out a bat signal or something before being confined to bed rest?” He teased, “I was worried as hell.”

“Mi calmerò quando so che va tutto bene,” the princess professed, intertwining her fingers with his own as her thumb slowly caressed over the top of his hand; more so out of a necessity to bring herself comfort rather than the crown prince. “Non so chi è ferito. Non so se Luka o Evander sono vivi … e non posso stare qui ad aspettare.” Maddalena took a few steps back, her grasp still holding onto Declan’s hand as she tugged the man towards her. “Vieni amore mio. Voglio trovarli, e anche Pippa.”

“Non lo so neanche io ma andiamo a scoprirlo prima che iniziamo a dare di matto.” He said as he used his free hand to run it through her hair and caress her face before trailing his hand down and resting it over her heart. “Sono sicuro che i tuoi fratelli sono vivi e bene. Se ci fossero stati morti, sono sicuro che ne avremmo sentito parlare.“ He tried to assure her before letting her pull him forward, “Certo, andiamo, tutto andrà bene e dopo esserci assicurati che tutti stiano bene, prendiamoci qualche minuto.”

When she realized it was Declan she sat back down and exhaled in relief. “Nothing you wouldn’t be doing if you could.” Placing the broom down Delilah leaned back and closed her eyes again, crossing her arms across her chest. “I’m stuck cleaning this place today and I completely forgot about it last night. In my defense, I’ve been stuck in a cell far too long. I stopped thinking clearly a while ago.”

“That’s probably true so I’m not even going to deny it.” He chuckled and made his way inside the room. He sat next to her and listened to her words, “They actually put you in a cell? Or are you just comparing this place to a prison? Because if it’s the last part then go for it.” He nudged her shoulder playfully, “What do you say I help you out so you can get some rest quicker?”

Delilah often forgot the fact that her body couldn’t function forever on pure will. Like every human, she needed food and sleep every once in a while. But Delilah thought of her physical needs as tasks; necessary annoyances to do in order for her body to keep functioning. And after being moved to the dungeons, hunger and fatigue were no longer her priorities. She was bored out of her skull, and after two days of sitting with her back against the bars feeling like a victim, Delilah realized having fun was her sole priority. So she did what she did best: sneaking out and getting wasted.

It didn’t prove difficult to accomplish her goals. In an island full of outlaws, parties were more common than cigarette butts in the sand. Stealing her way into the bars wasn’t too difficult either, as pirates were more often than not drunk and carrying loads of cash in their pockets. The one thing she didn’t think through was how to do her chores the following morning being completely hungover, starved and sleep-deprived.

The sound of her broom clapping against the ground startled her up awake. “I’m up! I- Shit, I’m up. I’m cleaning.”

Declan chuckled as he looked at Lila jump up from her sleep where she was practically out cold. He shook his head as he walked into the room. “What were you doing last night Lila? And why are you in here and not in a proper place to sleep?”

          hearing declan’s voice, instantly brought a smile to the blonde’s face as well as that very welcome feeling of relief. one less knot in her stomach, she’d been thinking about the people she cared about for most of the storm. worried about their safety, hoping that they had a roof over their heads, that they were eating, and just basic things that she believed every human being deserved. much more so and the thought may be biased but her friends, her family deserved them much more. nodding the norwegian princess pulled him into a brief hug. “ i’m well, i was stuck in the warehouse — lots of WATER, but nothing really too dangerous. “ she replied, eyes meeting his in an act of reassurance. “ if anything it was more uncomfortable, water that stands still, isn’t too appealing for our sense of smell after a few days. “  but other than that? she’d kept busy, helping as much as she could and she’d set aside her distaste for theo tulach and actually listened so on that front she would say it had been successful. “ where were you kept? were things better there? what about now? will whoever is watching you allow you to stay with them? “ she fired question after question, out of obvious concern, taking hold of declan’s arm she began to walk. “ the dungeons are no place for you.. or pip. have you seen her yet? “

He wrapped his arms around the young princess that was his sister in almost every sense of the word. He was so glad that she seemed to be okay and fully functioning. He didn’t know how many people got injured in the process of this storm but he was glad that so far it didn’t seem to be any of his family or friends. “I was in the Tulach House, it’s pretty much destroyed.” He said, that was the main reason the royals were told they had to move. “I haven’t really since my captor since the storm but I think her villa was one of the ones that need work so I’m in the Dungeons for now at least. I haven’t seen Pippa yet, have you?”

Ho appena trovato Lila e ho pensato di aver visto Lola prima che venissi al cinema. Non sono ferito e migliore ora che ti ho trovato,” the Italian princess professed in her native tongue as her short arms snaked around the man’s waist. There was a safety in the act, with her frame pressed up against his own tall stature, a feeling Maddalena had been in dire need of ever since a pirate had saved her from getting hit with a chair. From that moment on it only seemed to get progressively worse, getting trapped inside the cinema with no one but her brother’s best friend there by her side. Apart from the constant attempts to walk out the cinema doors and search for her loved ones she had spent the duration of her time pacing the floor and nearly eating her weight in American candy. “Declan, guardati,” the brunette exclaimed as her gaze ventured over the man. It was only when her eyes had met the familiar blue irises of the crown prince did she finish her thought. “Non sei ferito, vero? Dobbiamo trovare gli altri e poi farti pulire.”

Declan just held her close in his arms like she was his /lifeline because in a way she was, he didn’t know what he would do if something happened to Maddalena, he didn’t even want to think of the possibility of her not being with him and in danger. He was so out of it during the storm because all he could do was worry about her, Pippa, Aria, and a number of others. When she pulled away slightly he kissed her cheek before he started to answer her words. “Lila è ok? È Lola? Hai mai sentito dei reali avere ferite gravi?“ He was worried about his other family and friends as well and needed a bit of reassurance from anyone really, “Sono così contento che tu stia bene, sto bene lo prometto, nessun danno fatto. Per favore calmati”
