did a metamorphose pilgrimage today to tofukuji! more info below…

tofukuji is a large temple complex in kyoto just south of kiyomizudera. it's most famous for a wooden bridge nestled in momoji trees and it's a really beautiful place independent of lolita.

in early summer 2000 kato-san, re-ri, and other lolitas went out to tofukuji and took some photos to mark the occasion. they're all wearing meta including an alice op and the gobelin and bouquet series.

i found some of the old places they went in the photos. the first one was in the unpaid area of the complex. few tourists came and went to sit on this just to relax.

the second place was a seating place to enjoy a beautiful dry garden. since there were lots of people using the area to sit, i wasn't able to photograph the seating area. however, i did get a photo of the view looking out from that seating position! it was very peaceful to sit there.

it was a pleasure to discover a really beautiful temple i hadn't been to yet and fun to discover the spots where these lolitas had been! i would definitely recommend travelling down to this temple if you have a spare afternoon in kyoto!
