Generative AI is the thing that puts truth to the lie of the anti-piracy narratives that large companies have pushed. Their argument was that you are stealing, and not just stealing from companies, but from artists. We were told: "You need to pay for that, because someone put in the time and effort to make it."

Except now they have a need to steal it, because the slop machine hungers. They'll tell you that you gave permission by putting it on the internet. They'll tell you artists are outdated, the torment nexus is where it is at, baby. You can't fight the future, you've just gotta embrace it. You don't have the rights to your work or your art, and those mean artists are gate keeping your hard work! They say a lot of things, and these things all mean nothing, because just ten years ago they told you the opposite when it served their interests.

They've shown their hand that their beliefs are hollow (again), their arguments evaporating into the air. They're going to plunder you and you're going to pay for it... unless you don't? What is good for the goose is good for the gander, after all. If taking without permission from you is good and fine, surely that blade must cut both ways.

Pay artists, not studios. Pay creatives, not c-suite leeches.
