Howwwwwww about 'Love is overrated' with hana and mai?? (Or hana and Luke whichever u like better:))
Hana looked up from her homework assignment on jiggle physics in the various puddings in Precious Papa 3: Cooking With Style! and snickered as Mai slammed her head on her desk. Crackly anime laughter blared from her speakers as the phrase “YOU LOSE: YOUR WAIFU HATES YOU!” flashed across the computer screen.
“Love really is overrated.” Mai looked at the title screen [Love is OVERRATED!!! DOKI DOKI] with disgust and slammed her laptop closed. She pulled out her notebook, blank aside from “Bullshit Non-Boob Related Paper” at the very top with a resignation one sees often in those truly burdened by the life they lead. She glances at Hana, then licks her top lip and saunters over to her, her chair now empty but immobile from her elegance.
“Hanaaaaa,” she crooned in her usual way. “You loooooove me, right?” She waggled her eyebrows.
Hana hid a smile behind her hand, nearly poking her eye out with her pencil. “…Sometimes.”
“Well I loooooove yooooooou~”
Mai’s laughter is long, up and down, complete honesty bringing up raw delight from within her. She slaps her notebook against her own thigh.
“And since I loooooove you sooooo muuuuuuch…”
Mai tries to peak around Hana to her homework and Hana leans back with an eyebrow raised, elbows jutting out as she crosses her arms. The half-formed smile on her face belays her rigid posture.
“I thought love was overrated?”
Mai cups Hana’s chin in her palms. Hana can’t helping melting into her touch, a small sigh coming out. Mhm…
“Never when I’m with you babe.”
They share a sweet kiss, Mai a touch too eager, Hana a touch too nervous still, but they both pull with a satisfied gasp after what feels like a sun-kissed eternity. Hana pulls Mai onto her lap and buries her face in her neck.
“I’m not letting you copy my homework.” The mumble against Mai’s neck feels funny, but also kinda good. “But I’ll help you.”
“Of course not-” Hana recoils a bit before she remembers the screen flash. She plants her face in Mai’s hair and snuggles, content.
“No. Does that make me a top-tier waifu?”
The words feel strange coming out of her mouth. Stranger still is the feeling of Mai half-choking with laughter reverberating across her skin like goosebumps. She leans back until Hana is forced to pull back her head and look her straight in the upside-down eyes. Mai grins, lopsided at an angle that distorts it more. It’s quite cute.
“The best waifu there is.”
And when Hana wakes up the next morning and sees Mai’s new assignment title–Plum Pudding: Wriggly Waifu Technology–she laughs to herself.
