finally got my cintiq compatible with my computer again (honestly, a journey and a half within itself), so here’s a portrait of the lovely bernadette banner to try and shake out all of my rust and get more familiar with clip studio. here’s to trying to create as frequently as i used to!

god i hate this painting so much looking back - a study of the listening girl by jean-baptiste greuze (c. 1780/90) but make it violet evergarden i guess??

wow hi! i’m finally back!

so my hiatus was definitely a year longer than i previously said it would be - i’m so sorry about that! hello to the people that still follow me + thank you for sticking around for so long :)

that being said, gosh i’m so rusty!! i haven’t properly sat down to draw seriously since the start of 2019, and it’s been since the start of my hiatus since i’ve drawn digitally (so early 2018! ah!) i spent so long on this painting and i hate it so much, but i think it’s mostly to do with how different greuze and i paint faces and also that i cannot replicate how prettily he does it for the life of me lmao. violet sweety i’m so sorry.

anyway, i’m excited to start getting back into art again and posting on this blog! there’ll be a lot more traditional graphite-style sketches and some paintings on the way, but i’m hoping to start getting back into digital artwork along the lines of what’s above but, you know, hopefully better.

hiatus early 2018 -> late 2019

from this point onwards, all the art you see is pre-hiatus, so there’s a gap of about a year and 8 months where i didn’t upload anything. initially, this post was an announcement of this hiatus (which was only supposed to be until november/december), which you can read under the cut.

original title: a lil note on where i’ve been (& where i will be this year!)

so you might have noticed this year in particular i’ve been really really inactive - last year i posted almost every week, and now i’m posting every few months at the most regular. and that’s because i’m in year 12! the final year of highschool has been putting me in a big spot of death, misery and homework. i’ve also decided to pick up art in school, which i really love but i’m lowkey regretting. it leaves me way less time to produce personal art (and frankly, art i’m genuinely invested in) and that’s what i post up here and what i want to continue to post.

because of all this, inactivity will probably get worse as the year goes on, so i’ll be ~~officially~~ going on hiatus until the end of 2018 or quite possible even into 2019. and that really sucks, ngl. perhaps i’ll post my finals when i get round to them! idk. depends on how much i like it in the end.

i just wanted to say thanks for the support over the past year and a bit - it’s been wild. expect a ton (and i mean a ton) more stuff in 2019! see you then x
