Another Quinn x Michael fic
Summary: Just something small and sweet that I threw together pfff. Enjoy!
The only other thing on Michael's mind right now was to go home and rest; he was nearly stretched thin from all of the social interactions today— he met Quinn's family, which he nor Quinn did not plan for. The couple was thrown into this without any time to prepare, but it was finally over. Michael sighed deeply as he parked the car and stepped out, immediately going for the front door; Quinn watched quietly and sighed, sliding out of the car too and fixing their skirt– following after Michael.
Once inside, Quinn scanned the living room and didn't see Michael anywhere. He probably went upstairs to their bedroom.. They unzip their ankle boots and kick them off lazily, sighing in relief as they stand in the living room for a moment. “Thank goodness…” Quinn murmured and ran their hands through their messy hair. They slowly walk up the stairs and down the hall leading to their bedroom, they gently push open the door with their fingers and peek in; yep– Michael crashed out on their bed, his long limbs were tangled with Quinn's blankets and comforter, his shoes were on the floor, and his face was buried in their pillows, not to mention his usually slicked down hair was now a mess. Quinn chuckled quietly and walked over to the bed, they didn't sit down just yet.
“Rough day, right..?” Quinn asked Michael, tilting their head slightly. Michael responded by quietly groaning into the pillow, before moving his face to face Quinn— he had a very unamused expression on his face.
“Yeah. I never wanna do that again.” Michael murmured, stuffing his face back into the pillow. Quinn sits down at the edge of the bed and smiles a little. “What? Meet my family?” they responded, causing Michael to sit up fully and look at Quinn.
“Well, no. I just need to be told in advance, like— maybe a month in advance? It was a lot.”
“.. Yeah, it was a lot for me too.”
Quinn agrees while watching Michael lay back down. The two sit in silence for a couple of minutes, before Michael speaks up again.
Michael says and props himself up with his forearms, looking at Quinn. They think for a moment. “.. Your guess is as good as mine.” Quinn laughed quietly and shrugged. “I think I'm masking ninety percent of the time when I talk to people, even to my own family–” they add and itch their head, Michael nods along and bites his lip. “Masking..” He repeats. “I usually ‘pretend’ when I'm around people; because I feel like my actual personality makes people uncomfortable, so…” He looked at Quinn, they smiled at Michael in response. “Yep. That's called masking, silly.” They say as they boop his nose. Michael squinted his eyes closed in response, then opened them back up to look at Quinn– he sat up more and wrapped his arms around them, pulling Quinn back down onto the bed with him. Quinn laughed quietly and didn't fight against it; they instead hugged Michael in return, peppering his face with kisses, which caused Michael to smile wide and close his eyes.
The energy in the room was certainly more relaxed now, rather than tense; Michael stayed laying with his partner, he could fully be himself around Quinn and it was refreshing— he was never judged or resented by them, and honestly? Quinn was also a weirdo. The two were perfect for each other.
