Kel made Kenan and Kel what it was. He made All That what it was with a select few. Kel was always better and that’s why this bothers me. He left the one guy who probably had his back in a lot of situations.

I know I’m probably dangerously close to leaving my lane on this, but honestly, it always boggled my mind that Kenan was the one who got onto SNL, because to me, Kel was always the better, funnier actor. Like, we all remember the Orange Soda bit. My friends and I still quote it, and that bit was all Kel. Goodburger? Kel was the ENTIRE reason the Goodburger sketches worked, and that was like one of All That’s signature bits, right? What did Kenan have, that French dude in the bathtub? And HE gets a spot on SNL?

Come to think of it, I haven’t seen Kel on TV in years.

No, this is fucked up. The guy really deserves better. Kel Mitchell will always have prime seating in my childhood’s hall of fame.

Kel kinda faded out into the background, but he had a really cool position on this children’s show on TLC years ago. It was a really nice show about diversity and friendship. He also got to do a little rapping on the show. I remember he was also on YouTube for a bit, hosting and appearing in dance contests in his area. But I agree–he deserved so much better than what he got. I know he was very happy with parts of his life, but his career should have been just as strong as Kenan’s…if not MUCH better. His physical comedy was the best. His timing was remarkable.
