Wuling Motors (Short) Review
This is Chinese’s answer for Indonesia’s Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV). Wuling Motors, which is part of SGMW (SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile), has revealing their newest MPV in GIIAS. It’s a 7-seater MPV with a Captain Seat in the 2nd row, mounted with DVVT engine (which I read it actually Toyota’s VVT-i engine which named into DVVT by Daihatsu), leather seats, and fully modern interior design.
The car itself, in my opinion, is not bad. I simply really love with the exterior of the car. Looks elegant and modern for a 7-seater MPV.
The one shown in the booth is fitted with 1.8L VVT-i Engine. According to the website, the car also included with 1.5L DVVT Engine version.
The door trim is mounted with a modern design, glossy wood panel. The door handle is finished with a chrome, which give this car a quite exclusive looks. However, let’s not finish here. You’ll be excited to see the main interior (I hope).
Like I said before, it’s Captain Seat, and while I take my time trying the 3rd row, I realize that it had a sunroof. Just, AMAZING. Aside from that, the 3rd row seats are, in fact, quite spacious for my big body (I’m around 170 cm though). The car provided with Double Blower Air Conditioner, can be controlled in the middle. Quite the luxury.
When I asked about the price, the sales promoter can’t specify the exact price, since it’s still the demo. They say, however, it is estimated to be sold around 200 Million Rupiah (around USD15.000), and it planned to be produced in Cikarang. The car itself, they say, will start hitting Indonesian road starting next year.
Speaking of the price itself, there’s an article, stated that GM and Wuling happen to sold a minivan worth about USD5000 (that’s 67 Million Rupiah) back in 2010.
Worth the wait? We’ll see about that in 2017!
