Leave 2020 behind and start your 2021 with some happiness! Let’s all thank @csjanuaryjoy for helping us welcome this year with brighter adventures from our favourite pirate and swan. This is my first time participating in anything CS related so I hope I can help bring some joy to your day!

This project was one of the first ideas I knew fit in this theme because it came to me when I was, honestly, going through a bad time. We all have Disney movies that make us feel good and that day it just so happened to be “101 Dalmatians”.

It doesn’t follow the story exactly ( where would be the fun in that? ) but it’s the essence that counts, right? Also I was definitely inspired by @thisonesatellite and @profdanglaisstuff ‘s puppy stories.

I hope you enjoy some CS with Dalmatians.

Summary:

It all starts with a dog’s compassion and it all ends with a puppy-filled house. With a Swan and a Jones in the mix, it’s the promise of a happy family.

And then Saira ENCOURAGED this lunacy, even though there are multichapter insanities AND nanowrimo, but yes, ALSO HER BIRTHDAY, so, what was i to do? Leave this gorgeous canine fic-less?

Some days they work at the park while watching Jolly play with other dogs or chasing after whatever new winged friend he has made.

Some days they spend at the studio which is perfect, but Emma has mentioned the space doesn’t feel right for her to be there. So they move the piano around to be closer to a very comfy chair Emma has taken over. They alternate between the guitar and piano. The door is no longer closed because it feels suffocating. Killian figures, whatever the muse needs. There are days that they just talk about anything and everything, with Jolly happily laying on the floor with his tail thumping.

But fighting monsters had never been easy, not even when hunters made it appear so. When hunting, things never go as planned, and sure as hell the girl you like doesn’t bring a puppy along, and you surely aren’t keeping very important secrets from your friends. Too bad said secrets won’t remain such for long, and that the dog hiding in the girl’s backpack isn’t exactly a regular dog.

An eerie quiet fell over the clearing.

No, quiet wasn’t the word: it was as if they’d been deafened by a bomb, their hearing coming back slowly, dull at first, and then, suddenly, too loud to bear.

Emma gritted her teeth, her hand coming up to cradle her head. As soon as the whistling sound in her ears diminished, she blinked, eyes adjusting to the light.

She felt… light, in a strange, very physical way. It was as if someone had just freed her of a weight comparable to Atlas’, one she never knew she was carrying, not until Killian-

Killian!

Her eyes found him curled on the ground, dark blood leaking from the wound left by the hellound’s mouth but still breathing, though weakly.

Stupidly or not, she knelt next to him, ignoring the threat that was Gothel, especially now that Killian’s barrier could protect them no more.

Her breath caught in her throat when she rolled Killian over. It wasn’t just due to the alarming whiteness of his face, but to the shocking realization that he was, indeed, part demon.

Dark horns sat atop his head, slightly curling backwards and then up, so pointed she knew one brush of her finger over the tip would draw blood. And they were… beautiful. Somehow, they completed him. Not that Killian needed to be completed, but she’d always known there was something missing. It was probably the reason why she’d always felt so connected to him: because she, as well, was incomplete.

Emma was in the safety of her home. She had rushed to her bedroom and locked herself in. She let herself fall on the bed. The melody was still in her head. It was so beautiful and for a moment she was lost in a feeling and with those feelings, the words just poured out. It was so dumb of her to let her guard down.

MM and her charming fiancee David shared the love seat in the living room at the soon to be bride’s home. They were busy discussing the wedding when the front door opened and a blur of blonde hair passed by. The pair shared a look.

David’s eyebrow raised to his hairline. He was confused, it was unlike Emma to walk by without acknowledging them. Usually, there was a comment about how annoyingly in love they are and how it makes her want to barf. “Sweetheart, go check on her.”

MM smiled and gently met his lips with a kiss, “Okay, I’ll be back. Wish me luck.”

Chapter Summary: How the hell is Killian supposed to propose in the Nolans’ old house if someone else is buying it out from under him?

Chapter Three: Emma Swan Gets a House (and That Other Ring)

When Kris tells Killian that he’s selling the house, Killian figures that’s a sign. It’s Emma’s old house, and Killian just happens to work with the person who owns it, who just happens to be selling it just as Killian is trying to figure out how to pop the question to his girlfriend.

He’s obviously got to ask her to marry him inside the house. He’s got to buy the house and then get down on one knee once they’re inside.

So once the house goes up, he calls right away. Well, not right away. He waits for Emma to leave for work on the day Kris told him the sign was going up. And then he looks up the phone number for the office Kris is selling the house through. And then he calls.

“I’d like to place an offer on the house that just went up on Wonderland Drive,” he tells the man on the other end of the line.

“The asking price is two-hundred-thousand,” the man tells him.

Shit, Killian thinks. He hasn’t got nearly enough for it yet.

“Will they take one-fifty?”

“It’s only just gone up this morning, Mister…,” the man trails off, obviously waiting for Killian to offer a name.

“Rogers,” he tells him. No sense in anyone knowing he’s put an offer in on the house until it’s accepted. A pseudonym never hurt anyone.

Chapter Summary: Killian gives Emma a ring. Calm down, he’s not proposing.

Chapter Two: Emma Swan Gets a Ring (No, Not That One)

Killian is hardly surprised when David Nolan proposes to Mary Margaret. They’ve been practically inseparable since the only obstacle they’d faced – Mary Margaret’s distinct lack of a dog whilst David had been matched years prior – had been taken care of. Princess and Charming are quite the pair, walking around Storybrooke like they run the town, rather than Killian’s very own Emma Nolan. His Swan.

Ah, Swan.

“Tell me about your parents,” Killian said over dinner one night.

“I don’t… I don’t really remember much,” Emma responded. Her tone wasn’t quite sad, more… begrudgingly accepting. “David’s the one who remembers everything about them. I spent so much time out of the house, especially those last few years.” She shrugged.

“So tell me what you do remember,” he’d said as he carefully reached across the table to take her hand.

She sighed and put her fork down.

“My mom’s maiden name was Swan,” she began, “and my dad would always call her his Swan Princess. They were stupid in love.” She smiled when she said it, and Killian met her eyes, squeezing her hand once in encouragement. “They used to dance around the living room. The dogs would get under their feet all the time.” Emma laughed, and a lone tear escaped down her cheek. She looked down at her plate before she spoke again. “God, I haven’t thought about their dogs in ages. Skip, my mom’s dog, used to sleep in my room when I was really small. I had nightmares, and he’d come hang out with me after my parents fell asleep.”

“A good lad,” Killian said when she paused for a moment.

“Yeah, he was.” She looked up at him. “Thank you.”

“For what, love?”

“For making me remember. I haven’t thought about my parents in a long time because it hurt too much. But it doesn’t seem as bad with you here.”

She blushed a bit, her neck and her cheeks burning red, and Killian knew she felt like she’d bared too much of herself to him.

He stood and wrapped his arms around her from behind. She gripped his arm with her right hand and squeezed.

“Glad to be of service, Swan.”

“Swan?”

“Oh, aye. I think it suits you.”

Chapter Summary: Killian doesn’t have a dog, so he’s trying not to overthink the sheriff’s dog’s reaction to meeting him. But then two dogs appear and he and his sister don’t have dogs and… what if it’s time to take fate into his own hands? Or… hand, as it were.

Chapter One: Killian Jones Gets a Dog

Killian Jones is a smart man.

He knows that incessantly thinking about a beautiful woman with a dog can’t possibly be a good idea. He doesn’t have one himself, and it seems as though he’s destined to be alone forever because of it.

He’d had love once, of course, but the odds of that happening again, and without a canine companion, are slim to none. Closer to none.

But still, he can’t stop thinking about the woman from the diner. The one with the handsome dog who’d nearly climbed into his lap when he’d said hello. Most dogs were indifferent towards him, others didn’t seem to like him at all. But he’d never experienced… that reaction.

And that means nothing, because Killian doesn’t have a dog.

He’s heard about the dogs at the shelter, of course. He knows a bit of the story now, a few days after it all happened. Knows that the sheriff and one of the deputies were apparently able to get the dogs to follow them.

And then he finds out that the sheriff of this small town he’s found himself suddenly living in, the very sheriff who was able to get these stray dogs – what a strange phrase – to follow her, was the very same woman who’d enchanted him in the diner.

What are the odds?

Sneak Peek - Arm’d with Hell flames and fury all at once

Hello! So, since I’m trying to wrap up as many fics as I can, I’m leaving here a sneak peek of chapter 2 of my @cspupstravaganza ‘s contribution (you can read the first chapter here).

Something was going to happen, and soon, and probably for the first time that day, Emma was glad the witch was dead: unless one of her coven warned her, she wouldn’t see it coming. Whatever it was. Emma shouldn’t probably feel as delighted as she did, her friends were still unconscious and her only strategy right now was to have Gothel talk for as long as possible. If she tried to attack her or one of her disciples, she would burn.

«But wanting to take my role of Mother wasn’t enough for dear Alice, no, she took the most important man in my life away from me as well!» Gothel snarled. It was good she wasn’t human and in complete control of her magic, because her ire could make the earth shake and she would probably affect the weather as well.

But the earth was shaking, albeit slightly. Emma swallowed a gasp of surprise, wide eyes still settled on the ghost so not to give anything away.

I can’t believe we’re here at the end!!! The good news is that the 1-2 chapter (just deciding how to split it up) companion piece from Killian’s POV will be posted on Monday! Thank you so much for reading this story that I truly never thought I would finish. A Captain Swan Pupstravaganza Story

Summary: According to everyone in the known universe, Emma Nolan’s dog is supposed to lead her to her soulmate. But she’s not even sure if she wants that. Soulmates are pretty idealistic, don’t you think?

Chapter Seven:

Killian is going to propose.

Emma can feel it in her bones. No, in her very soul. Which makes sense since, you know, soulmates and all.

She can’t figure out when he’s going to do it, or where. He hasn’t asked her to go out to any special dinners. They haven’t made any plans to take the boat out yet, as apparently Killian wants it to be perfect before they take her on her maiden voyage as The Jolly Roger.

She supposes that could be why he wants to make it perfect, if he wants to propose on the boat. But she really just wants him to do it already and stop making her wait.

It’s probably her own fault, really. The way she’d taken ages to let him in, and then when he’d given her Liam’s ring, she’d probably looked about ready to run straight across the town line and never look back.

But she’s ready now.

Summary: According to everyone in the known universe, Emma Nolan’s dog is supposed to lead her to her soulmate. But she’s not even sure if she wants that. Soulmates are pretty idealistic, don’t you think?

Chapter Six:

Emma isn’t surprised when David walks into the station starry-eyed on a Thursday in the spring. She knows he proposed to Mary Margaret the night before, and Emma knows – knew before David even bought the ring – the answer was yes.

There’s never been any question for the two of them. David knew before Mary Margaret even adopted Charming. He knew that the fourth grade teacher at Storybrooke Elementary with the big eyes and the bigger heart was it for him. She made his heart stutter and his mouth run dry before she even said a single word to him.

Emma’s happy for David, truly. She’s long since forgotten her fears about heartbreak when it comes to her brother and his soulmate. She is not, however, excited about what comes out of his mouth after he tells her the news.

“She wants you to be her maid of honor.”

“What?!” Emma winces at the high pitch of her voice. “I’m… I barely… why?”

David smirks at her. It’s the same face he made when he had to spell out the fact that Killian should move in with her. Smug bastard.

AAAH! This latest chapter from @awkwardnessandbaseball just has us SIGHING. So lovely and sweet, AND now we are going get Killian’s POV as well? AMAZING!!

This might, honestly, be one of my favorite chapters of this story. It’s very simple and (imho) very sweet :)

Chapter Five:

Six Months Later.

It shouldn’t be a surprise when David brings up the topic of his moving out when they meet for lunch, just the two of them. Emma should have seen the conversation coming, really, but she’s been so caught up in her own romance, in having someone to share her innermost thoughts with, in Rascal having a playmate besides Princess… that she’s completely caught off guard.

“Mary Margaret and I are going to move in together,” David tells her, spaghetti sauce lingering in the corners of his lips. Emma opens her mouth to interrupt, but he keeps going before she can. “And we were thinking that maybe we could just… keep doing what we’re doing. I’ll move into the loft, and Killian could move in with you–”

“I’m sorry, what?” Emma nearly yells, but then lowers her voice, remembering that they’re at Granny’s, in the middle of the Saturday lunch rush, in a town full of gossips. “You moving in with Mary Margaret… sucks, if I can be selfish for a second, but… it makes sense. But why would you think Killian and I would move in together?”

David looks at her like she’s grown an extra head.

“Because he spends literally every single night at the apartment with you?” David offers, but Emma sits silently, staring daggers at him, so he continues. “Emma, you spend nearly every waking moment with him. You’re soulmates. It just… makes sense, doesn’t it?”

Emma thinks about it. She tries to remember the last time she slept alone, one side of her bed cold, with only Rascal at her feet instead of the extra weight of a second dog. Or the last time she woke up to the smell of her brother’s burnt coffee (or worse, nothing at all) instead of the delicious pancakes Killian’s taken to cooking for her.

It had happened so naturally that Emma didn’t even notice. One night, she was sleeping alone in her too-large bed, her brother snoring away in the bedroom down the hall, and the next, David was away at Mary Margaret’s and Killian had taken up residence against Emma’s side.

And then it just sort of stayed like that.
