FACE TO FACE → OPEN.
Kristy nodded along, hanging on to every word the guy was saying, and taking small sips of her drink through the straw. She wasn’t trying to chug it in one, but performing was thirsty work. “Oh, good. I can’t imagine how terrible that’d be if all you could do for a little coolness would be to roll the windows down. I don’t even imagine that’d help very much.” Honestly, it had surprised her a little bit that he’d gone into so much detail, since he didn’t seem to be the talkative type. What didn’t surprise her, though, was his lack of awareness about her hand held out to him, though Kristy was a patient person, so she just waited for him to catch on. “No need to apologize,” she shook her head, politely shaking his hand, “It’s lovely to meet you, Christopher. Are you in here alone this evening?”
Working at Hawaii was turning out to be such an experience for Christopher. These kind of conversations would have never happened back home. Christopher wouldn’t have even welcomed him, but being in Hawaii was different. It was such a huge change in his life, he was doing his best to embrace it as well as he could. “Depending on the speed of the vehicle, it could be helpful. However, air conditioning is always cool,” Christopher paused, “Obviously.” After a light handshake, he dropped his hand to his side and he brought his soda to his lips. Holding the straw to the side, Christopher sipped straight from the glass. Swallowing, Christopher nodded. “Yes. I usually come here alone.” Usually had actually been always, but Kristy didn’t need to know how lame he exactly was.
