“I can’t believe someone actually uses these in battle, do you think I could learn?”
“Never say never.”
“Ok, ok, what do you think?”
“Usually I’d ask my stylist about an outfit choice, but that’s not too bad. What’s the occasion?”
Kaleen slowly smiled at her younger sister. “It’s good to see you too. Been alright. Soccer season is over. Figured I’d come back here for a while.” She told her.
“That’s a relief, I was beginning to think I’d go insane without you around,” Scout admitted.
“Well, you’re succeeding. You know, for once.”
“I’ll take that as a compliment,” Scout chuckled.
“Love isn’t the only emotion, you know. And also people with narcissistic personality disorder don’t really love anyone but themselves so you’ve been proven wrong.”
“I never said it was,” Scout retorted without a moment’s hesitation. “Besides, how in the hell was I meant to know you had narcissistic personality disorder? I’m not a fucking mindreader.”
“Okay, okay. Did I tell you about that one time I spit foot out on one of my teachers?”
“Oh my gods, did you actually?”
“I sincerely doubt it’s been scientifically proven that someone can care about nothing.”
“I don’t. People do scientific research on emotions all the time. They figured out that we actually loose all proper sense of judgement when we fall in love.”
“Says the one who gets me pain killers when I make a mistake.”
“I’m just trying to be a decent human-- for once.”
“I’m honestly surprised this place hasn’t changed in the last year.”
“That’s me every time I come back from finishing a movie. How’ve you been sis? It’s good to see you.”
“There, see? That wasn’t so bad, was it?” Alice questioned, letting her arms fall from the girls sides.
"I guess so,” Scout pouted dramatically before breaking into a laugh, “You’re too good to me, Alice.”
“I like to cook and there’s this Demeter kid I think his name was Mickesh or something who’s always offering classes.”
"Maybe you should take classes from him?”
“Does this look like the face of a guy who cares about anything?” Oliver asked, gesturing to his face, “If I cared about that then I would care which I don’t so take your opinions somewhere else please.”
"Nobody cares about nothing. It’s scientifically impossible. We all care about something-- even you mister ‘heartless bastard’,” Scout watched him carefully. “You’re literally contradicting yourself, but whatever floats your boat dude.”
“Okay, okay. Did I tell you about that one time I spit foot out on one of my teachers?”
"You did what now?”
“Oh, good- because that’s absolutely ridiculous.”
"Okay now it’s your turn to tell an embarrassing story.”
“Thanks. I doubt anyone here does. Maybe I should focus on something else.”
“Definitely. Like how about food or cute animals? Those are great ways to distract oneself.”
“Get over here.”
“Oh dear,” she groaned, unable to help but smile after being pulled into the hug.
