My College Life(so far...): An Unforgettable Year with Memorable People

College, an absolute hell hole the final stage of our student life before we’re sent to the real world. It is in this stage that we start to place our priorities in the right order–we start getting serious during this stage. But because we tend to get too serious during this stage, we often forget the most important part of college–that is to enjoy this final stage of our academic life and have fun with the people we meet.
We must never forget that small, quintessential part of our college lives.
Sure, your academics take top priority, but think about all the adventures and memories you’ll miss out on if you just focus on being an outstanding student. You’ll regret missing out on those ‘cause things will never be the same after graduating college.
With all that said and done, let me share to you how my life as a college student has been so far.
I’ll start off by introducing myself. I am John Joseph M. Cuenco, I am a 19-year-old male turning 20 in the 18th of July. My zodiac sign is Cancer. I was born on the year of the Earth Rabbit. I am a student at Far Eastern University–Institute of Technology, currently taking a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. And I am here to impart my college story so far as a partial fulfillment of the midterm requirements in our Purposive Communication course.
College, to me, has been…well…to be honest…an absolute hell hole. What with all those requirements, examinations, and all the sleepless nights cramming for quizzes, recitations, and homework given the night before their deadlines. But despite all that, college has been pretty bearable…and actually fun. Wanna know why? ‘cause of the people I’ve met and befriended.

“Without them, college would be hellish for me.”
To say just that would be an understatement. Why? These people saved me. There came a time in my college life when I felt like giving up–to the point that I even thought of ending my own life. Yet here I am! Still pushing forward despite getting failures upon failures. Despite my mean demeanor and the antisocial aura I’ve been projecting, they somehow managed to break through and changed my life forever.
I’ve only known them for almost a year but the memories I’ve shared with them have been wonderful. They’ve helped make my college life bearable and enjoyable.

“Old friends never leave your side”
Despite having an already wonderful set of friends in college, I still haven’t forgotten my old friends from before. They, too, have helped me in many ways like cheering me up in my saddest days. I probably wouldn’t even be pursuing a higher education if they weren’t with me through my ups-and-downs.

This whole academic year has given me wonderful experiences,
memorable people,
and wonderful memories I will treasure forever.
From the bottom of my cholesterolic heart, thank you. All of you have made my college life fun. I wouldn’t have made it through this whole academic year without all of you. I’ll be leaving soon, but I will take all of our memories this whole year with me until my last breath. Thank you, friends!
“Surround yourself with amazing people”
All these people I’ve shown, and many more of them not shown here, are what made my college life very memorable. And you, too, should find people like them. Surround yourself with memorable and amazing people. They’ll bring the best out of you and make you feel loved. They’ll fill the voids of your heart and bring you back to the light. Because your friends are your second family.
