was home-schooled most of her life. went to public school in new zealand for a few years, then was home-schooled in england, then attended public school in california where she met daniel, before being pulled out and home-schooled again.
her religion - the hymn of one - was deemed ‘weird’ by her friend and her viewers, she defended it but it later turned out to be a cult-like cover up for a group called the order.
the hymn of one wanted her to preform a ceremony because she was trait positive, upon discovering how dangerous it was she and her friend daniel ran away.
she talks to her teddy bears and brings them with her when she’s running for her life she’s precious
was born in russian siberia and then adopted by the ones she came to know as her parents. has a birth sister that she never found out about.
watched her father die because he told her about the adoption/being trait positive and the order wasn’t happy about it.
wants to protect other trait positive girls, no matter the risk it poses to herself.
after being on the run with her friends for almost a year bree realized that as long as she was with her friends they were in danger and the order wouldn’t stop. she handed herself in to the order and preformed the ceremony, which “killed” her.
~10 years later bree is revealed to be alive and working for the order. the order faked her death in front of her friends and then brainwashed her into preparing other ceremony girls.
her and her friends had committed some crimes in their vlogs, though bree was never wanted actively before her death. these are the crimes she committed, in chronological order, all of which happened before her “death”:
Bree was sentenced to house arrest after her parents discovered she had snuck out to go to a party with Daniel. She continued to sneak out after this.
In Learning To Drive, Daniel takes Bree out driving in his car, even though she has never driven before and presumably has no license or learners permit. Driving without a license is a misdemeanor in California, and may be punished with probation, time in jail, and up to $1,000 in fines. The car may also be impounded.
In Bree’s Gone, Jonas reveals that Bree has stolen one of his cars.
Bree, Daniel, Jonas, Taylor, and Sarah trespass on the property of a home that Taylor thinks is Jules’s.
In It’s Not Kidnapping, the Bree, Daniel and Jonas kidnap Jules in Texas.
Potential Plot/Thread ideas:
Your muse (female) is trait positive and Bree tries to find/protect her. (This doesn’t need to change anything in your characters backstory, though tends to work best when the character is adopted) + possibly bonding over it. Possible ships even?
Your muse is a cop/agent/etc and is after her/her friends for their crimes. (Alt. Your muse is a cop/agent/etc who thinks Bree is doing the right thing and tries to help her)
Your muse is part of her group of friends who fights against the order (knowledge of the series isnt necessary - may be helpful but I can answer any questions you may have)
Your muse is a random person that got drawn in because people were trying to kill Bree and your muse happened to be close by enough to almost get caught in the crossfire.
Your muse is a member of the Hymn of One - the cult-ish religion bree belongs to that works as a cover for the order. (Could also be trait positive if female.) Could disagree with Bree running away and fighting them, could agree and try to run away too/help somehow.
Your muse watched Bree’s vlogs and then runs into her while she’s trying to run from the order.
Your muse saw Bree die (either through the vlogs or through being there as a member of the order or one of her friends) and then finds her again years later while she’s working with the hymn of one/the order.
