*lies down to go to sleep*
my stream of conciousness:
Manifest small things. If you think it. Do it. For example, you have a conversation in your head with this person. Then you went about your day. No. Stop that. Go ahead and have that conversation pick up the phone. Call them. If it’s too late. Text them. Manifest the small things. So when the big things come you already ready for me.
Thought is powerful. Thoughts is abundance. That is life. Thought is God. So protect yourself thoughts. Manifest what you want because its already happened.
Delaware has just elected their first-ever openly trans State Senator, Sarah McBride.
Missouri just elected their first-ever black woman to serve as Congresswoman, Cori Bush.
And Minnesota just re-elected Ilhan Omar, the first naturalized citizen of African birth and the first woman of color to represent Minnesota in Congress.
Do you remember anything fun that you’ve made as a kid? I was really proud of this “camera” I made out of a tea box. I filled it with hand-drawn “photographs” and was very disappointed when people and objects wouldn’t reenact them accurately enough at my request.
This is the cutest damn thing I have ever seen
The thing with telling “cliche” stories, but with representation, is… these stories aren’t cliche for us.
Picture this. The people at the table next to you have been getting chocolate cake as a dessert for YEARS. After every meal, they get a chocolate cake. Now, it’s been years, and the people at that table can barely stand chocolate anymore. They want maybe a cheesecake. Or lemon mousse.
But your table? Has NEVER had chocolate cake. Mousse is also good, but you are SO hungry for that chocolate cake, cause you never had it before, and it’s brand new for you, and you’ve been watching the other table eat it for YEARS.
That’s what’s like getting a “cliche” story that’s representative. Has it been done a million times before? Yes. Has it ever been done for US? Well… no. Maybe it’s the 500th chocolate cake in existence, but all the other chocolate cakes weren’t meant for us (girls/PoC/queer folk/disabled folk/etc)
So it being cliche is not a bad thing. You may not want chocolate cake anymore. But we want our slice too.
