indefinite hiatus notice. as many of you already know, my cat has been incredibly sick and while i did everything i could to help her, she passed away this morning. my depression has hit rock bottom and i don’t have the energy to do anything, let alone be here. i may pop in from time to time but i seriously doubt it. i’m sorry for keeping all of my partners waiting and if you want to drop threads i completely understand. thank you for understanding.

EVEN IN THE MIDST OF BATTLE, he’s looking for cullen. he really shouldn’t be he should be concentrating on checking corners, scouring for husks, reloading his weapons but concern for his better half always outmaneuvers the rest, SHUDDERING over the walls of his mind as he watches cullen dodge an attack. TOO PROTECTIVE. too defensive, too snarly and growly when they end up in cover together. ❛ dancing with death today, i see, ❜ he remarks lowly, crouched beside cullen as they both reload and wait. air vents from the turian’s mouth as he nudges his commander with his nose. ❛ at least TRY to stay alive ? for my sake ? ❜
BULLETS FLY OVERHEAD, smoke and blood filling his nostrils, the fog of war blurring his senses. he moves quickly between points of cover, just missing bullets by mere inches. he falls behind the barricade, reloading his assault rifle with great haste when he notices the presence of another. HIS HEART SKIPS A BEAT, fear filling his head as he turns around quickly, only to let out a large sigh of relief upon realizing who it was. ' YOU WORRY TOO MUCH ! ' he yells, trying to talk over the sounds of battle going on around them. he peeks over the wall, laying his weapon atop of it and shooting a few husks that were heading their way and then slides back down into cover. ' if you're watching my ass, then who's gonna watch yours ? '
face drops to the crook of cullen's neck, the heat of his mouth like smoke sifting through the teeth of a dragon - every breath is sweltering, but not just because he's warm. not just because of his dilated eyes and his shivering noises, guttural, throaty as he breathes. grazes his mouthplates along trembling skin, coaxing, coercing, and there's that subtle threat of a bite that makes his insides lurch in excitement. he's warm because he's desirous. and he purrs.
holy lips part to release a soft moan ; praising the maker's name, swathed in sin. a hand extends to caress the side of his face, gently and tenderly leaving kisses upon his mouthplates as he does. he yanks the turian against him, pulling him against bare skin for a warm embrace as his lips leave a trail of kisses from his mouth to his neck. breath hot and heartbeat rapid, he pauses and gazes longingly into his lover's eyes ; calloused fingers brushing the side of this face fondly.

‘ shepard ‘ vocal tone is mellifluous and silvery, delivering a stream of fine, euphonious words. hands shake just slightly with nervousness before he tucks them beneath his arms, crossing them and masking a grin over his face ; avoiding showing any signs of discomfort or diffidence he may have. he adjusts to the situation, changing expression of demureness to that of aplomb. he’s brought dinner and a nightcap with him, in hopes of spending some one on one time with the commander ; perhaps even reminiscing on the glory days between two old soldiers. the corners of his lips pull into a lopsided grin as he retrieves the bottle of whiskey from his bag, faintly shaking it as buoyant footsteps bring him to sit beside the commander.

PUP HEADCANONS (/^▽^)/
cullen took his time naming the dog ( about a week or two ) but when he finally did name the dog he named him wyatt since it has a meaning of “brave warrior” and mabaris are known to be war hounds.
at first cullen wasn’t going to keep wyatt because he felt like he couldn’t take care of him and didn’t deserve him. the original plan was to give him to his sister whenever he should visit her again but he grew far to attached to him that by the time he was able to visit his sister again, it was impossible for him to let the pup go.
despite the pup having a docked tail, when he’s happy, the thing is like the world’s tiniest whip and if you happen to get in it’s path, you’ll get hit and it won’t feel that great tbh.
wyatt is extremely protective towards cullen. he doesn’t like strangers and takes intruders as a threat towards cullen’s safety and will attack if they approach without warning.
he is also extremely skittish for a mabari and gets so terrified of loud noises. if it’s storming he will jump into cullen’s lap and refuse to leave. constantly needs to be comforted during storms.

CULLEN IS A VIRGO. i have seen many posts floating around saying he is a leo and i guess that would make sense because of the whole ’ LION ’ thing but i don’t really think cullen portrays any of the traits commonly found in a leo. cullen is precise, exact and critical. he knows that the devil is in the details and he pays attention to them. he is very hardworking, efficient and methodical. he has a tremendous sense of duty and will definitely work towards serving the greater good, be it his family, friends, work or community. he is skilled at the minutiae and taking over tasks that many others would find overwhelming, to say the least. cullen is by far one of the most hardworking people in the inquisition. everyone can count on him to get it done quickly, and right the first time, every time. he loves helping other people. virgo is associated with the characteristics of the virgin, such as modest and purity, balanced and fair. he has a certain noble quality to his bearing which is also humble at the same time. you will never find this man standing idly by for too long. while he may not be a bundle of energy, he will use every ounce of strength, mentally as well as physically, to complete the task at hand. as competent as he is, he doesn’t always have the confidence to pursue his ambitions or to shoot high. he studies every situation in great detail. he is interested in understanding everyone and everything, even if sometimes he doesn’t act like it. his goal is perfectionism, in himself first, then his work. he isn’t being condescending; he’s just trying to do his bit towards improvement and enlightenment. he has very discriminating tastes and neatness is an ongoing priority for him. he is grounded, practical and sensible but has a tendency to overly worry very often. and that, friends, is why cullen is a virgo.
