Arcane, Vampire/Werewolf AU, Caitlyn/Vi

Summary: Some people fall in love too fast, and others are ready to throw away hundreds of years of hard work for the sake of the right woman—whatever you want to call that.

Sequel to the smell of blood on concrete.

“You want to ask me something more,” Caitlyn says directly, facilitating the conversation outright. “So you should ask.”

Vi’s big grey eyes blink slowly. At varying times, Caitlyn has seen both a cloudy storm or sunrise lighting up inside of Vi. She is more complex and wonderful than anything else Caitlyn has known in all her hundreds of years. Just now, her gaze is gently probing, as if all of the truths of Caitlyn’s life are pressed upon her forehead—ready for Vi to read. She wishes it were that simple, even if Vi is likely to hate some of what she sees.

Surprisingly, Vi smiles—and it’s halfway to a smirk. “Okay,” she says. “How’d you like last night?”
