This isn’t a real suicide-thing. This is probably one of those cry-for-help things.

if you bust your ass because you wanna climb up the ladder you are mega retarded. They wont move you up at all, instead they'll keep you there because its so hard to find decent workers nowadays that they dont want to put in the effort of finding someone new who busts ass as hard as you.
Not only that but managers will fight to keep you where you are so as to make sure they look good when corporate comes by. This system isnt made to move the best people higher up the chain, its to keep those in power running things for as long as possible regardless of competency. Corporate and management never get blamed for high turnover within their entry level jobs because thats exactly what they want.
Some jobs will give raises to their workers every year so in a well managed store everyone there will have worked for 5 to 10 years. Corporate complains to management that theyre losing too much profit to these wages and will move these workers to shittier stores and its a win-win situation. If they stay it'll serve as a solid support for the next crappy manager to use as they please. If they leave they wont have to pay their replacement nearly as much. They'll either give the hard worker the toughest shifts or an open schedule to cover any of the lazier workers who dont call in or simply quit without notice.
In other words you become some incompetent managers underappreciated fixer and they will use you unscrupulously til you wisen up. You simply become shoulders for these people to climb on when the waters get high, a solid pillar neck deep in mud day in and day out just to support their little empire. But hey if you stay to work that double for them maybe they'll give you a free meal, wouldn't that so thoughtful of them?

Trolls
Every online gamer has trolled at least once in their life. This is not an assumption. Even Jesus would have trolled once if he could have played League of Legends.
Symbolism
Robocop symbolizes a cop that is also a robot.
