title: Free Bird
Title:Toxic This is a dark turn on most drawings I do. In this creation I was embodying negative people that come from with in you and also outside of you whether it be someone as close as a family member or someone you thought was a friend. They fill your mind with insults and put downs, furiously screaming at you for all your wrongs and none of your rights. My message is when toxic people come in to your life and try to beat you down with their words and actions, you need to take charge, put your foot down, flick them off, and keep moving forward. You are strong and you will prove them all wrong.
Title: Pieces of me
This drawling was created last year when I was starting my journey of identifying myself. I was inspired to express my obstacles I faced through puzzle pieces. I feel everyone goes through this time in life where we all are just trying to identify ourselves with out help from others, but on our own. I wanted to do a puzzle drawling because I felt that it describes my confusion and frustration so well. Puzzle pieces come in a box mixed up and unidentifiable. Putting together a puzzle takes patience, persistence, and for you to focus. That right there describes exactly what I was and I am still doing today.
Title: Flawlessly Me
For this drawling I just wanted to do a fun wordy drawling of a woman who looked fierce, confident, and carefree. I Believe we all deserve to feel confident, comfortable in our own skin, and strong. I wanted to voice that in this drawling. It is too often that we are comparing our selves to others instead of holding our heads high and embracing our beauty on the inside and out.
Title:Hear Me Roar
The intentions I had on doing this piece were to encourage those who think negatively about their selves, to replace it with positiveness. It is very common for those with depression or anxiety to focus on the negatives versus the positives. The negatives always seem bigger than you. I embarked on a journey last year to find parts about myself to love. Hence the idea of this art piece, i decided since I love making art so much that I should make a voice with it. One day I decided that I could write all day about all the things I enjoy about myself, but what would make it more effective would be to voice it through my art and to hang it on the wall so I would have to look at it everyday. My thought process on this was that you can hear a lion roar, he is loud , fierce, yet beautiful. That’s how I wanted to voice this art project. I wanted it to scream Loud, Fierce, and beautiful.
