It was a great lunch at Wild Orchards in Rock Sound. We had a nice visit with 3 couples from Maine.
The artist's castle has been converted to a home. It was good to see it remodeled.
A visit to Island Farms for fresh bread on Tuesday and Friday and lots of fresh greens, herbs and vegetables.
Great dinner at La Bougainvilla in Palmetto. Music with Maurice on Sundays from 11-3. Worth the drive.
Great food and music at Daddy Joe's. Across the Glass Window Bridge, less than 20 minutes from the house.
Enjoying all the blooming flowers around the house. I pick the hibiscus each day to bring inside to brighten our table.
Local joints can be found scattered around the Island. Very good Bahamian food cooked by Willy at Seven Seas. In Lower Bogue just 2 miles from our house in Current.
Fresh fruits and vegetables in Lower Bogue. Just 5 minutes from home.
New shop for ice cream, sodas and a few basics in Current.
Home made bread made by Thomas in Lower Bogue. It is just 2 miles from our home El'lure in Eleuthera. You have to taste it to believe it, with butter or guava jam it is unbelievable
For stepping out for the night, The Cove Resort, just down the road. Really a five star resort. Great sushi.
Chris Blackwell’s 1980s reinvention of the 1950s resort Pink Sands may have put Harbour Island in the Bahamas on the map, so to speak, at least as a tropical destination with a hotel of note, but it was India Hicks and her partner David Flint Wood who cemented its heavenly reputation when they opened The Landing.
Want to enjoy the Islands without taking out a second mortgage? Why spend $8,750 per night on a crowded Island when for the same money you can have your own house on the water with dozens of secluded beaches, caves and other natural features to explore for 11 days.
Queen's baths, off the Queens highway neat the Glass Window Bridge. You ca also see the pink sand beach of Harbour Island.
Laughing Lizard, lunch spot in the Gregory Town area. Free WiFi and great food and drinks.
And then there are the sun sets off North Beach, In Current. A nice end of the day and maybe a green flash....
Mornings are always special, as well as the moon rising over Lower Bogue in the evening.
Fishing with James, out of The Current. Always a great day on the water, plus conch salad on the beach!!
