Thanks to Public Domain Review for hepping me to Gautier Dagoty's Essai d'Anatomie (1745). The plates are 2500px wide scans and are gonna make for GREAT collage elements. What a draftsman!
Opulence, analog collage.
Who up transing their art again.
Here is what the last page says.
And when the screaming stopped and the clouds cleared and the rain dried I and God spoke as one to those that doubted them/him/her. If we are made in God's image, if this body is God's design then is it the flesh or what is contained within the vessel that is most holy and irrefutable?
I and God spoke as one to those that prayed for healing on my body, a healing it never needed.
If God created all things, surely that encompasses human experience. For is it not through experience that we get closer to God? And so my body, my life, my experience is holy because it brings me closer to God. Who are you to tell me my relationship with my God, how I worship and honor my God, is wrong?
Your God is not my God. My God is kind and loving and forgiving. My God cares about what is in my body. What is contained inside this holy vessel. I decorate my holy vessel. I change my vessel. For it does not matter to God what I do with it. It only matters that
I EXIST.
Pieces picked and the general idea set. Now to weave these into the body. I apologize for the inaccurate ocean ecology and the two freshwater fish.
🌻 Plantæ utiliores: . London: Whittaker & Co., 1842-1850.. Original source Image description: Illustration from “Plantæ utiliores,” London, 1842-1850, depicting a dahlia plant with a large, deep red, densely petaled flower head. The flower is round and composed of tightly curled petals. Two green stems support the main flower and two unopened buds. Several green leaves with serrated edges and pronounced veins emerge from the base. The background is plain, highlighting the detailed botanical drawing. The word “Dahlia” is written below the plant. Despite the sunflower keyword, the image actually portrays a dahlia flower.
