Muffled screams. The sound wasnât quite as pleasing as earsplitting cries of pain, but it would make due when there were too many nosy souls in this town. There was less chance for a muffle cry to be heard by anything non-supernatural â namely, hunters. Not that hunters scared him in the least, but they were a pain in the ass to deal with. He really didnât feel like explaining to some addle-brained gunslinger that all of tricks and tools of the trade were useless against him.
The poor soul in front of him was an older gentleman, preacher from a town over that had traveled to Beacon Hills out of curiosity. When he had arrived, heâd first run into the Devil himself. Though heâd only been trying to spread the âgood wordâ, Lucifer couldnât help but grow agitated at the praise and idolization of his Father, and the usual threats and insulting tone people used when discussing the archangel himself.
So, the angel had pinned him to the wall of the church they were in - waiting for the sermons to end - and sewn his mouth shut with a flick of his finger. Now, he paced with boredom as he snapped the preacherâs knuckles one by one after casual âconversationâ.
âSo, really, how would you feel if you were the most loved being in all of creation and then your own Father turned his back on you â and turned everyone against you? Sure, I had to spend some time proving to Dad that you people; you humans were as flawed as I knew you to be â introducing sin to you, proving that your souls could be twisted and corrupted.â He stated, knowing full well the man could only answer with muffled prayers. He still could hear them.Â
âToo much?â He asked him, looking over his work with a contemplative expression when he heard the doors of the church opening up. âOh, a visitor.â He said with a childlike giddiness to his voice as he kept a finger pointed at the preacher and turned his attention towards the doors. âServices arenât until later, my child!â He called out with a faux serenity, listening to his voice echo.
UNLIKE EVERYTHING HE HAD LEARNED FROM TWILIGHT, being a vampire was actually the pits. donât get burned up, donât get staked through the chest -- so many things he had to be cautious about that simply hadnât been a problem before. Lamenting the days when simple mortality let him drift through the passing of time, Ravi made his way down the block because he had rushed to work knowing in his bones that he was late only to find out that he wasnât even scheduled to tend that night.Â
Kicking a stray stone down the block, the light reflecting off of it was mesmerizing as it skittered down the block. Maybe this hot zombie this was okay, because the strength was no joke. As he mulled over heading back to his apartment or bothering whichever of his neighbors bothered to answer the door his ear pricked.Â
If asked to identify the sound he wouldnât bet the ranch on it. was that whimpering? Ravi was mostly positive that someone or something was whimpering. Sighing up at the church that loomed over him, he almost shrugged it off but the possibility of an injured dog needing his help twinged the last bit ( how much was there exactly anyway? ) of humanity within him.
Spurred into action, because what kind of demon just ignores a dog in need?!, Ravi bound up church steps. When he was coming to terms with everything he wanted free wine to he snuck into Sunday service and downed way too much boxed wine not to feel even slightly buzzed. Pulling at the door handle, it half leapt off of its hinges to accommodate his wishes. Ever-ready to apology for his newfound clumsiness, the voice caught him off guard -- hopefully they wouldnât make him pay for the door.
âHello??â It wasnât the greatest response, but he couldnât think of a single thing to say. Rav vowed not to shit talk the next protagonist in a horror movie who did the same. Scanning the church, nothing seemed out of place except the steady taiko drum of a heartbeat thudding like a hunted rabbit. Making his way further into the church, the erratic heart acting like a beacon. The pair before him was... a lot to take in. Despite how quickly his senses picked up and assembled the world around him, his mind lagged because it certainly wasnât what he was expecting. âIs.... Is this some kind of sex thing? Iâm totally not judging if it is but you need a safe word or something bro. That guy's heartâs gonna explode or something.âÂ
