A hearty series of giggles escaped her at the wolf’s antics, and she wondered just
who was the excited-over-confectionary child here? His joy and happiness only brought
smiles to her face, especially since the shopping trip itself had been a bit of a drag
with the list’s items, all of which did not seem to be what Whisk enjoyed. She’d gladly
ask him to accompany her to a proper sweet shop next time, hopefully to continue to
bring about that joy from dull mundane trips.
Her eyes widened at his offer, and suddenly the choices seemed endless – the possibilites
vast. She was working on a budget before, but now he brought his money to the table. The
money adults had seemed almost impossible to her, who had only dealt with tuppence and
pocket change.
There was also the conflict that she really didn’t want to use his money – her politeness
coming a-knocking, but he was so enthusastic, and there were so many treats..
“C-Chocolate Moose Cake? Oh my..”
Train of thought broken, she had to admit, she had never had it before. It seemed just a
touch too rich for her taste, so she often declined it when offered. But seeing as it was
on the house, as it were..
“I haven’t had any before! Can we get some, Mister
Whisk? I certainly don’t want to be.. um, living a lie,
as you put it!”
Honey hues sidelong glanced over towards the colourful sections again, eying up a
particular piece that stood out.
“That bag of Liquorice, too. I’m always a sucker for that.
Pretty please? I wouldn’t have enough for truffles AND
that.”
“Yeah, yeah! Don’t worry ‘bout it!” Chuckling slightly as he gave an affectionate pat to the rabbit’s head, the gruff old man snickered. “I ain’t gonna bite yer damn head off fer askin”! As long as I get some then why the hell not?”
Wasting no further time on their sweet escapade, the wolf took hold of his friend’s credit card and held it up high. With a free arm he used it to grab all of what they wanted. The Chocolate Moose Cake he nearly dropped was placed directly in the center of the cart, with the box of truffles placed sloppily on it before the bag of Liquorice topped it like a bow did a present. He then pushed their cart towards the (unfortunately) long check out line, much to his dismay.
“Aw damn,” growled the wolf as he leaned up upon the cart. His weight caused the cart to nearly slip under him, love-tapping the cart ahead of them and warranting the stare of the shopper ahead of them. Of course, Whisk gave it no mind, turning back to Cream and giving a frown.
“Can ya believe this shit!?” He whined as he slapped the center of his forehead with a paw. He knew that bargain day meant the lines would be long and the store would be packed, but this? This was the equivalent of being stuck in rush hour traffic on the highway. “It’s ALWAYS this bad on bargain day! I friggin’ HATE IT! It’s like, damn! I jus’ wanna go home ‘n open up t’cider, not wait behind grandmas ‘n ‘ere while they shop for their kiddies!”
