Idk why writing about this stuff ahead of time feels like jinxing it.
Anyway, my 8 yr old started doing this head tilt/eye roll thing this weekend. It came on suddenly, and I basically spent the weekend crying and nauseous, thinking there is something wrong with his brain.
I got him into the doctor this morning and she said it’s a common tic. He passed all the neuro testing, and she said it can be brought on by anxiety. He is a very anxious kid, although it started at the end of his time with his grandparents, which should be about as relaxing as it gets.
She said they usually lessen and even go away on their own. He has another tic that he does way less than he used to.
If it gets bad enough that it gets in the way of regular life, we’ll be referred to child psychiatry to help with the anxiety.
Very happy for the whiplash of going from thinking my child is dying to hearing that he’s fine(ish).
