CLOSEDCURTAINS CHALLENGE 001
After last weeks unfortunate dip in activity, your admins have teamed up to put together an exciting new mandatory challenge for you for the upcoming week! Over the next seven days (next Sunday) anyone who is not on temporary hiatus is required to send every character at least one question anonymously for them to answer. By the time this is through, everyone should have 6-7 questions to answer at their leisure, whether to count as a new starter or for gossip, which will go into part two of the challenge. Every player must submit at least one piece of tabloid fodder to the gossip blog. We have a great tool at our disposal to utilize for drama within our characters, letâs put it to use! We canât do it without you, however - if youâd like to make graphics/magazine articles, we strongly encourage you to do so! Otherwise, simply sending in one message to the tabloid blog about something regarding a character in the group will suffice. By Friday, we should have 7 or 8 new posts, at least. Once youâve messaged all players and gossip blog, please âlikeâ this post to signal that youâve completed your task! And remember, have fun!Â
Meet ALLIE BROOKS, 24 year old SUPPORTING ACTRESS of CRASH.
When people ask where sheâs from, the answer is always a little tricky to explain. Everywhere? Nowhere? Here? There? None of those really make sense, and when Allie says just that, sheâs just met with strange looks. Which is understandable, after all, for most itâs an easy enough answer. Then there are those who like to guess about her situation growing up. Foster care? Adopted? Army brat? Those are all things sheâs heard, but in truth, none of them are right either. Itâs rather simple, when you get the full story.
Allison âAllieâ Brooks, born to Jayne and Erik Brooks was born with an adventure gene in her body. Their friends always joked that she clearly inherited it from her parents, who were best known for doing everything adventurous they could think of, even if no one else would. Sky diving? That was done for their honeymoon. Swimming with whale sharks in Mexico? Their five year anniversary included a trip to do just that. Driving across the country in the most clichĂ©, beat up combi van anyone probably owned? Check. Many of the coupleâs family and friends claimed they were daring, but truth was, they were simply the type of people who were never happy to settle in one place for too long. The only time they did was when they had to save up for their big, one in a lifetime type of trips, but as soon as they had the chance, they would easily pack up and leave for their next destination and great adventure.
And Allie?
Well, Allie was exactly the same. Growing up her life hadnât been typical, she knew, and while she imagined that most kids her age would hit a point where they just wanted to settle down and make friends instead of constantly moving from place to place for no other reason than just because they could, Allie never saw like that way. Instead, she saw every new town and state and country as a new adventure, and could never imagine herself settling down somewhere for good.
As she hit her teen years, however, her parents started slowing their travels down, and stopped moving around so much. The death of Erikâs mother at a golden age of 94 came following a number of years of hardship on the family when it came to taking care of her. The woman was strong, and it almost seemed like she would outlive every one of her children, but everyone knew that sooner or later the time would come, and Erik and Jayne decided that it would be best for them to be close to the family when it did.
So they moved back to Erikâs hometown of San Francisco, settled down just shy of Allieâs seventeenth birthday, and put their wanderlust on the back burner for a while.
Though Allie had been homeschooled her entire life, due to the constant moving, her parents decided to enroll her in a public high school for what would be her senior year, and that in and of itself is something she considers one of her biggest adventures yet.
Graduation came quickly, quicker than she had ever expected it to, and at eighteen, she began to feel the wanderlust and adventure bug that had bitten her parents at such an early age. Her grandmother had passed in the spring before she graduated, and as soon as summer came along and Sarah, one of the few friends she had made during the school year, mentioned she was going to college in LA, Allie knew thatâs what her next move was. Though there was technically nothing keeping her parents in San Francisco anymore for the same reason they had moved in the first place, she knew that they planned on staying for a bit longer. How long that was exactly, she didnât know, but it didnât matter much because as soon as she asked if they would be okay with her moving to a city that was only hours away, they gave their blessing and that was that.
LA was different than San Francisco in many ways, but having the experience of traveling so much so young in life, it hardly fazed her. The glitz and glamour of the city wasnât something that drew her attention much, and instead Allie focused on learning the ins and outs. What little nooks and crannies the city held, and before long, she felt like she had found herself possibly the closest thing to a home as she would get.
Living in a tiny studio apartment that she shared with the girl she considered to be her best friend wasnât necessarily ideal to most, but her, it was perfect. After all, growing up her parents had fit all three of them into small apartments with noisy neighbors, and this was hardly any different, as far as she was concerned. She worked at whatever odd job she could get while Sarah went to school, and in their own weird way, things simply worked. Allie worked in different places (bookstores, coffee shops, music shops, art stores⊠anything that was hiring, she would fill out an application, and more often than not, start the very next day), though she never stuck with one job for more than four or five months, and Sarah went to school, and when they both had free time, they would wander around the city, exploring it all. One of their favorite pass times became attending open call auditions for tv shows and movies that were posted around town, and though they were always uncredited, the even managed a couple spots as extras in a few scenes of this or that.
Neither one had come to LA to become actresses, but it was hard to deny that there wasnât a certain amount of fun when it came to attending the auditions, even when either of them were the complete opposite of what the casting director was looking for.
Allie never expected, after a few tiny stints as an extra on the side of whatever job she was working at the time, to become something of a small house name. She wouldnât be seeing her name in lights any time soon, but when she walked into the casting call for the new CW tv show Crash, she absolutely never expected to land the part.
Originally sheâd gone in for a reading of a waitress with two lines, but something about her had the casting director asking for her to read for another. One that they hadnât been able to fill for whatever reason. The character herself was named Alexis Montgomery. A quiet, reserved and general wallflower type of girl who was almost a sort of sidekick to the leadâs character, she was very different than Allieâs own self. She was one of those girls that in life outside tv would usually blend into the background and, unless life was somehow a romantic comedy, usually not the guy, but hey, what did she have to lose?
Much to her surprise, a few days after the casting call, she got a phone call informing her she got the part. Truth be told, she wasnât entirely sure who was more excited at the time, her or Sarah, but either way, it seemed like a perfect opportunity. The long hours on the set of a tv show were nothing like she was used to, but the whole experience gave her something amazing. She never expected her character to become someone that she found herself getting attached to, but after six years (an amazing thing for Allie, who was used to moving around in less time) of playing the girl, sheâs found itâs harder to say goodbye than she had originally anticipated.
Now, after the show has ended and the characters have left the screen for any new episodes for good, Allieâs not entirely sure what sheâs going to do next. In some ways she wouldnât mind seeing if there was something else that Hollywood had to offer her, but now that sheâs finished her contract with Crash and the CW, she feel can feel the wanderlust inside her raising its head once more. She years for adventure much like her parents did, but at the same time feels as though she should see exactly what else the city of angels might have in store for her.
ALLIE BROOKS played ALEXIS MONTGOMERY, the WALLFLOWER on CRASH.
She is EXES with the LEAD ACTOR.
She is ROOMMATES with the REOCCURING ACTRESS.Â
Allie Brooksâ faceclaim is Elizabeth Olsen, and she will be claiming Dakota Fanning as a NPC for her roommate.
I'm interested in applying, but I have absolutely no idea who I would use as a face claim... Who would you pick as your top choices for face claims?
Weâre actually all full again! I forgot to post the accepted audition since I never made a real notice about the application in the first place, but a friend whoâs been interested in the group swept in and is planning on taking over for our replacement at the moment. Never fear, however - if things keep moving forward at a decent pace as they are now, we may be interested in adding another 2 players to spice things up, so keep an ear out just in case!Â
Now that our cast is complete and our characters are starting new projects and showing their faces in the spotlight more and more often, we present the tabloid blog! Follow for articles and news stories, interviews and more, plus text updates regarding the lives of our favorite former TV stars!Â
Please feel free to send in your own tidbits and information - everything will be posted anonymously, so letâs get the drama rolling!Â
would you consider adding 2 more characters? i really want to be apart of this group and my audition wasn't accepted so i'd like to try again.
Unfortunately, one of our main goals in creating this group was to create something small and close-knit, so adding more characters would likely defeat that purpose. I wonât say itâs not a possibility somewhere down the line, but as of now, we donât plan on expanding.
Thank you so much for your interest, though. Weâll definitely make an update if we decide to add more characters at some point.
Meet HARRISON CORDEN, 24 year old SUPPORTING ACTOR of CRASH.
Growing up Catholic in America wasnât particularly difficult or taxing childhood for Harrison Corden. A banker father and a real estate mother provided a comfortable living for their five children, and Harrison and his siblings were always well taken care of. They were the quintessential, well-adjusted family of seven with a white picket fence and a dog running about in the backyard. Each child was encouraged to follow their dreams and find their own way, but church on Sundayâs and a healthy relationship with God was expected and unquestioned. Religion was the answer to any questions he had as a child, and while Harrison has fallen away from his strict Catholic upbringing, he still struggles with reconciling those values with the life he wants to make for himself as an adult.
When Harrison was sixteen, his older sister Piper moved to Los Angeles to work toward a career in the entertainment industry. While he knew that being independent was a part of growing up, he missed her and their unique sibling relationship much more than he initially realized. Still, Harrison barrelled forward and enrolled in college in his hometown immediately following high school graduation. With no clear major in mind, he spent his first year focused on elective classes in hopes that heâd discover his passion along the way. Admittedly listless and not wanting to disappoint his parents, Harrison declared a major in marketing before starting his second year.
Still close with Piper, Harrison regularly visited her in Los Angeles on school holidays. He still credits her work on CRASH as the catalyst that helped realize he also wanted to be involved in the entertainment industry, just in a different way. After a frank and forward discussion with his (somehow incredibly encouraging parents) Harrison dropped out of college after his sophomore year and moved to Los Angeles to play a supporting role in the third season of CRASH. Acting was never his passion, but a job was a job, and Harrisonâs physical appearance fit the character the writers producers envisioned. He hoped that having a credit - any credit, no matter how questionable - would be beneficial when he began to branch out to other projects, whatever they may be.
By his second season on CRASH, Harrison knew that he preferred to be behind the camera rather than in front of it. Shortly thereafter, Harrison met Sam Mason and together the two began working on a film script - #superheroes (working title). The film is unlike anything Harrison or Sam have seen before, and with the final draft of the script nearing completion both men hope to sell the script to a major studio to begin development. With zero production and directorial credits to his name, Harrison is banking on his involvement on a semi-successful television show to lend some credit to his name in order to hit the ground running with a successful pitch.
It is undeniable that working on CRASH completely changed Harrison life. Not only was he exposed to the world of film and television production, but he also began to look critically at the world around him in a way heâd never dreamed of in Seattle. Never one to delve too deeply into his own psyche, Los Angeles curated Harrisonâs sense of humour into sarcasm and introspection, and his parents and younger siblings often comment about how different he seems now that he lives in California. He still values his family and cares very deeply for them, but knows that moving to Los Angeles was the right choice.

Meet SIMON PRINCE, 27 year old LEAD ACTOR of CRASH.
Born with a silver spoon shoved so far down his throat that he ought to choke on it, Simon Prince was destined to be a star. His mother was an hotel heiress and his father a notable recording artist, and between the two of them there was always someone watching their every move. He grew up in the spotlight â captured on TMZ before he was even a year old â and never once questioned that this was the life he was destined to have. Sure, most of his friends gravitated towards him because of his last name and his pedigree, but what did he care? He was young, he was hot, and he was going to come into a shitton of money when his parents kicked the bucket one day. Simon was confident, had attitude oozing from every pore, and was attractive and knew he was attractive. It was a catastrophic combination of traits and landed him in trouble more often than naught. As he grew older, his exploits became more and more widespread, and finally his parents gave him an ultimatum â clean up your act, or move out of the city to live with his grandparents. So he toed the line, playing âgood boyâ until he turned 18, and kept the exploits of his private life â sex, drugs, alcohol, women â until he was old enough to get out from under their controlling thumb. He didnât see it as them trying to protect him from the spotlight, but more that they didnât want him to make them look bad. They were busy people, not around all that much, and perhaps he was just trying to get their attention â but it didnât work all that well.
Heâd done a few commercials and guest spots on a few dramas throughout his teen years, but the first script he really connected with was Crash. The second it fell into his hands, he knew he wanted it. He pursued the role aggressively, like he did anything else in his life, and 6 auditions and callbacks later? The part was his. Tristan Smythe was cocky, duplicitous, and had a chip the size of Texas on his shoulder. Not only was the material fun, but it was refreshing. Heâd been cast as the âboy next doorâ type far too many times, so he was glad to get to do something a little different. It was while working on Crash that he met his future wife, Evelyn Taylor, who worked with the production department. Despite their differences, they clicked almost instantly, and shortly after his 21st birthday, they were married. Things fizzled out almost immediately, their differences proving to be too much to overcome now that they were tethered together forever, but both being too stubborn to admit defeat â they stayed married. It wasnât uncommon to hear them screaming at each other in his trailer, or to see her storm away from him on the backlot, but everyone always assumed that â volatile or not, they would be together forever. So to say he was surprised when she dropped the divorce papers on his desk, along with the final script of Crash, was a shocker.
Now that heâs back on the market again, heâs well aware of the fact that people are watching his every move. It doesnât help that no new projects have fallen into his lap since the show ended, and heâs left with far too much time on his hands. He was a trainwreck back in his early 20âČs and though heâs creeping up on 30, everyone seems more than ready to see him slip back into bad habits. While Crash wasnât always at its best â what the fuck was happening in season five, anyway? â his castmates became his closest friends over the years. Now that everything is ending and theyâre all going separate ways he hopes to stay in contact with (most) of them, but has no idea how the future is going to unfold. Theyâre all very different people and the only thing they had in common was the show â now that that was gone, what did they have left?

Meet BRIGHTYN RANDOLPH, 24 year old REOCCURRING ACTRESS of CRASH.
Unless you have lived under a rock for the past couple of decades, you recognize the name Brightyn Makensey Randolph. Itâs a name well-known in Hollywood; a name that has inspired two clothing lines and a scrumptious smelling perfume set to hit department stores next month. Brightyn Randolph is a household name, and she sure as hell wonât let you forget it.
You see, Brightyn grew up in Hollywood. Her parents, Jason Randolph and Anslee Bailey, are positively infamous. Both esteemed actors in their own right, Jason and Anslee became a power couple the moment their names were linked in the tabloids. Everyone wanted to know the sordid details of their whirlwind romance, which culminated in the birth of their precious little girl some twenty-five years ago.
Even before she was born, Brightyn was plastered across the tabloids. She was known as Americaâs princess, the twinkle in her motherâs eye and the reason behind her fatherâs smile. Gossip blogs predicted she would be nothing short of a natural born star; a personal gift to Hollywood from two of its hottest and most talented superstars.
Unfortunately, the hype might have been a little off the mark. Oh, Brightyn was certainly born with a flare for the dramatics, but her acting talent was⊠lacking, to say the least. When, at the age of three, she landed her first starring role as the presidentâs daughter in a blockbuster hit, her acting was met with mixed reviews. Most were willing to give her the benefit of the doubt thanks to her young age, but some now say the role was simply the first in a long line of failed attempts at acting.
Brightyn has played in countless movies and TV shows over the years, but her acting hasnât improved all that much. She tries, she really does, but she knows her last name and influential parents are the only reasons she lands the roles she does. It frustrates her to no end, the knowledge she isnât what everyone - including her parents - wanted her to be. Jason and Anslee view their daughter as nothing more than a disappointment; a washed up young adult who will never live up to her acting potential.
Thankfully, when Brightyn was cast on Crash in a reoccurring role (thanks to Jasonâs sizable donation to the production fund, of course), she discovered a side of herself no one really knew existed. Her character, Vivian Waters, was an aspiring musician. The crew had originally planned on having Brightyn lip-sync her songs, but when they heard her singing the lyrics under her breath during rehearsal, they realized she had some untapped potential. Right away, the writers set about creating opportunities for Vivian to sing, and Brightyn was thrust into singing lessons. Over the last few years, her voice has grown and developed on the show, drawing the attention of record producers and devoted fans alike.
As the show came to a close, Brightyn was approached by a couple of different labels, offering her a record deal. She wants to pursue it, but she knows it isnât what her parents want for her. When she tries to talk to them about it, they roll their eyes and scoff at the idea of their daughter becoming a musician. Sheâs a Randolph, for Christâs sake. She should be able to act, not something as frivolous as sing. Couldnât she at least try out Broadway before giving up on acting altogether?
With pressure from her parents to stay in acting and her publicist to just do something with her life, as well as a yearning desire to chase after a possible music career, Brightyn is torn on what to do. Hopefully she can make a decision before offers are rescinded and she becomes just another washed up celebrity living off her own last name.
