So I just finished the flock of villains series and in one of the end notes of how to build a nest you mentioned a new fic for the mini-murder (how to build a murder). I was just wondering whether that was still something you were planning on writing or not? (No pressure either way, just curious).

Hi! Yes it’s still in my plans to write, I’ve been taking a little writing break ATM because work has been crazy and my summer totally jam packed, but yes I am working on How to Build a Murder!

Little Keigo who turns into a porcupine every time he's upset and scared and all his feathers sharpen out as he curls into a ball and no one can handle him so he just shakes and cries in a corner all by himself... until the day little Touya reaches out.

Careful hands grasping against all his sharp edges as Touya tries to comfort him—becuase Touya will be a hero, he isn't scared of any cuts or pain, he just wants to get to the distressed little bird.

Only as soon as his warm hands brush up against those sharpened feathers, they go down soft and all he has is a small nip in his hand and Keigo's eyes as wide as the sun as he peers through those parted feathers and Touya pets at him softly.

And Keigo, who thought he didn't deserve anything in a world where he was born into a broken family that couldn't keep itself together within the shabby walls that creaked at every blow of the wind thinks... maybe everything wrong in his life was so he could have Touya.

So, I have a pretty distinctive house and after *coughmumble* years of living here I've kind of gotten used to people walking through the neighborhood between shopping and restaurant districts and going "wow look at that house." So when this one lady stopped under the mulberry tree to do something with her camera I wasn't too worried, although it looked like she was taking pictures of the mulberries? Which was weird. But okay. But it reminded me we had mulberries so my husband and I went out to eat some off the tree.

The crows said hello.

The lady says "ARE YOU GOING TO SUMMON THE CROWS?"

Come to find out she's walked through the neighborhood before at some point when I was feeding the crows and calling out things like "Peanuts! Peanuts for crows!" and making very bad but very consistent imitations of crow calls and all that. She saw the blue jays swarm in and the crows come to land on the power lines and in the trees. She was on the phone to a friend (who is a witch, she made a point of telling me) and she'd said to this friend "I've just seen the most magical thing!"

It's me. I was the most magical thing.

15 year old me ascended into godhood that day.
