I have flat out abandoned writing I'm so sorry. The creative juices just aren't flowing for any of these shows right now. This is a totally pointless update I realized I just felt bad for not putting anything out. I still haven't even finished Gen V yet. I got totally derailed I'm sorry to anyone waiting I'm just not feeling it. I can't make any promises about starting up any of the stories again but it's never out of the question. I'll always keep the blogs up I just don't see myself doing any writing anytime soon. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday season and an even better new year! 🥳
She's so real for this. God I love Brittany Broski so much. She puts into words what my brain feels like whenever I see Homelander, lip Gallagher, or Lalo Salamanca. It's actually a problem how much I love these toxic fictional men. (I couldn't find the original clip but the Lego animation is adorable either way.)
The week long poll has finished! I am going to be making a Gen V fan fic. I'm going to have to wait till it's all come out because I like having the full story before I write about something. I have literally no idea what I'm gonna do yet in terms of OC and pairing. Literally everyone is incredible. Jordan is my favorite character but I love the idea of them and Marie being together so I probably won't split them up. I'm not sure what I'm gonna do so if you have any suggestions feel free to comment. I'll probably put a poll up for who you guys want to see in the fic. I really want to plan this one out and and do a proper story with it.
I'm losing my mind! My mouth is frothing for more Gen V episodes. I don't like watching one episode at a time so I'm going to let them all come out before I finish the show but I was weak and watched the first 3 episodes when they came out and I'm regreting it so bad. I need all the episodes to come out! I'm dying to know what all happens and having to wait is killing me! I'm sorry for the person I'm going to become when I actually finish the show.
I'm on my shit again. I love Gen V and it's distracting me from The boys fan fiction. I'm thinking about making a fan fic for it. I need to be stopped.
should I do a Gen V fan fic or stay focused on The Boys?
Yes do a Gen V fan fic, give in to the hyper fixation.
I finished the first 3 episodes of Gen V and I need the next episode to be out now! It's so good! I feel like there wasn't alot of advertising for this spin off. Has anyone else seen it? It's great and I need more content about it on Tumblr. All the characters feel so fresh and exciting. It's really nice to see Supes who actually care about doing the right thing. It's like we get a glimpse into what The 7 members would have been like before they got Vaught brained. Incredible show I can't wait for more of it!
Hey there! I'm not dead which is a sentence I am saying way too much lately. 😅 I am just not in a writing mood but I have been thinking about the Fanfics alot so I'm hoping my brain let's me write soon. I can't promise when or what order but new parts will be coming! Thank you all for being patient and thank you for all your kind words. 🥰💖🤗
Hey! I'm not back, back yet but I figured I'd post this super short part and let it set up for a time skip when I return. Not sure when I'll be back with part 15 but get ready for soilder boy!
--------
Like he heard my cries, Homelander came bursting through the automatic doors of the lobby. Glass was thrown all over. I was thankful it was just the guards and I here.
"What happened! Why do your eyes look like that!" He boomed out making my ears ring. He didn't sound angry; it was more like fear.
"It looks like pepper spray sir." One of the guards said as they moved out of his way. I kept my eyes closed as much as I possibly could. Needing to seem like an innocent victim I reach out my arms to Homelander for him to hold me. He pushes my arms down and grabs my head and tilts it back. His brutish thumbs pry my eyes open.
"You're hurting me!" I cry out as I try to push his hands away from my face. He stopped and let my head fall before he turned his frustration on the guards.
"Who! Who did this!?" He screamed, the windows threatened to shatter at the sheer volume of his voice. The guards grabbed their ears and cowarded from him.
"We don't know sir, please!" One begged. I had to step in or he was going to hurt these men for nothing other than trying to help.
"He's in the penthouse. Take me, I'll show you him." I say as I reach out for him again. My eyes firmly closed. I crawl towards where I last heard his voice. Finding his cape I grab onto it. He leans down and picks me up. I clung to him desperately, I needed to get him away from these people.
With my eyes closed I wasn't sure but I think he took the quick way up. I felt the air brush against my face until he landed. I take a small peek and see the living room. He sat me down and found the body right away. I felt even more helpless than normal without my sight.
"Good God what did you do to him, Simone?" He asked as his footsteps got further and further.
"I pulled his esophagus from his neck. It's a big long tube. It was the first thing I saw. So I grabbed it." I say as I blindly fumble for the sofa to crawl onto.
"What was a man doing in my penthouse?" He asked, sounding suspicious.
"He brought the pizza. He is a guard or I thought he was. He tried to attack me. He hated me, said I was using you. He scared me so bad. I didn't want to kill him." I begin to cry, really trying to milk how helpless I looked. Homelander made an annoyed sound as he came over to me. He didn't seem all that moved by my display.
"Come on, let's get your eyes flushed out." He said as he lifted me again. Struggling to open my eyes I look up at him as he takes us to the kitchen.
"What about him?" I ask as Homelander sets me down in front of the sink.
"I know what to do with Pete." He said as he got some milk from the fridge.
"Pete? You know him?" I ask, closing my eyes again.
"Yep he was my stalker. Completely harmless to me, I guess I didn't think about him trying something with you." Homelander said as he took me by the back of the neck and guided me to bend over the sink like I was washing my hair. Tilting my head to the side he started pouring milk into my eyes.
"You have stalkers? Why not kill them?" I ask as I try to open my eyes under the stream of milk.
"Some I do. Pete ran my biggest fan account on Twitter so he was useful. Not like he could hurt me." Homelander said as he took off his gloves and gently opened my eyes for me. Of course Homelander wouldn't want to kill someone who was inflating his ego.
"Well he was a creep." I say as Homelander pours more milk into my eyes. He chuckled.
"Yeah he was. He touch you?"
"Yeah we got in a fight. That's when he sprayed me. It was a lie of course. He didn't try to hurt me but I needed someway to explain his busted up face M.M. gave him.
"You did that? His face looks like ground beef." He sounded proud. I stood up straight and he handed me a towel for my eyes.
"Yeah he wasn't really a fighter." I say as I pat my face dry.
"Must not have been. You don't have a scrape on you." He says as he grabs my hand and looked at my knuckles. I knew the fact my knuckles were completely clear of any kind of cuts or bruises would give me away. I pulled my hand back and looked up at him terrified. "Who else was here?" His relaxed attitude changed quickly as he questioned me.
"No one! It was just me! I healed the cuts on my hands." I say as I back up a bit from him.
"How? You could hardly open your eyes. How did you heal them without seeing them?" He asked as he took a few steps forward, trapping me between him and the stove.
"I just did! Get away from me!" I yell as I try to push him back. He only steps closer pushing my back against the buttons to the stove top. They dug into my skin through my shirt.
"Who else was here! You are too much of a pussy to use your bare hands now tell me who!" He roared out. He pressed himself against me so tightly I felt one of the turning knobs to the stove break off against my back under the pressure.
"No one! Check the cameras! He was the only one who came in here!" I cry out in pain. He takes a step back and pulls out his phone. I was quick to move from the stove and tried to run past him to safety but he grabbed the back of my hair as he checked the hall cameras on his phone.
He pulled me over to look at the screen. thumbing through the footage he didn't find anything. I was amazed how well Frenchie's tool worked. There wasn't any sign of them. Just the crazed fan. Homelander closed his phone and looked down at me.
"I told you, it was me. He had a soft face. I didn't even hit him that hard." I say, smiling up at him. I was doing my best to stay calm. He'd use my fast heartbeat against me.
"I'm going to call a guy to clean this up. Then I'm going to go and talk to the people in the lobby, see if they saw anything." He said as he hosted me over his shoulder and stepped past the body. Struggling against him would be useless so I let myself dangle as he steps into my room. He sets me down on my bed.
Grabbing the lower half of my face he turned it side to side, seemingly getting one last look at my eyes before he left to investigate. Once satisfied he's done everything he could for them he leaves without a word.
It was obvious he didn't believe me. Maybe he was hoping I'd make it easy on him and just confess my sins and tell him what really happened but it would be a cold day in hell when I tell him anything I don't have to.
I was happy to stay in my room for a while letting him try and figure out what really happened. I knew the only things that could give me away were in this very room, my phone and chip.
I lay down and rest my eyes as I hear shuffling and talking just outside the door. It was probably a cleaning crew of sorts or maybe it was just Homelander disposing of the man himself.
After an hour or so Homelander enters my room. His hands folded behind his back.
"Well killer, have anything to say to me?" He asks as he leans against the doorframe. I roll over in bed to look at him confused.
"Goodnight?" I ask as I rub my eyes. He rolls his eyes and looks a bit annoyed.
"How about thank you? Thank you dad for getting rid of a body for me. Try that." He says with a cocky grin. What would he rather me do? Let the guy run around the apartment? Let him pepper spray me? He was secretly pleased I killed that man. If I was being charitable I'd say he was happy this happened because it meant I can defend myself. In reality I think he was so happy because he got to hold another murder over my head.
"Right, thanks… Dad for hiding a body?" I didn't sound very convincing but he took it anyway.
"You are very welcome. Ashley has planned a few interviews for you tomorrow for the Vaught social media accounts. You are going to have to wear those ridiculous three eyed sunglasses. If anyone asks about your puffy eyes, tell them it's allergies. I'll be in the area doing my own interviews. Think you can handle flying solo?" He asked as he stepped into the room. It seemed pretty quick to get me in front of a camera by myself but I wasn't to worry. It was Vaught, it wouldn't be any groundbreaking journalism, just a puff piece.
"Yeah I got it." I say as I nod. It was a good thing how much faith he seemed to have in my PR skills. It gives me more freedom to speak to a wider audience.
I wasn't sure what Billy had in mind but he's probably thinking if we can't kill him at least we can kill his career. I got a kick out of the idea of outing him as the homicidal obsessive maniac that he is. It was a small thrill that grew in my chest everyday I daydreamed about it.
He looked around my room for a second and picked up some of the toys from the floor and put them on a shelf where they will just fall again the next time he yells.
"I really thought you were younger. It wasn't intentional, I figured if you kept that ugly doll of me you might like other dolls." He said as he brushed down the hair on a Maeve action figure. He grinned a little and looked back at me. "Once things settle down I'll make sure we get you a more age appropriate room. After all, if we ever make a family vlog you can't be seen in this embarrassment of a room." He made a cringing face just at the thought. I just nod with a smile. The less I say the better. I try not to interrupt him when he's being somewhat reasonable.
He mills around the room for a bit longer. The sudden interest in the room worried me. Why was he just loitering here? He wasn't even looking at me; his focus was on the finer details of the room.
"Hey um Homie? I was going to get some shut eye if that's alright with you." I intentionally try to butter him up with the abbreviation of his name. It seemed to please him. He smiled wide as he turned his attention to me.
"Homie? That's sweet, yeah alright. But in public I'm dad got it?" He asks with a wink. I nod back.
"I remember." I say with a chuckle.
"Alright well I'll let you sleep. See you tomorrow." He sounds so normal sometimes it's jarring to say the least.
"Yeah night." I say as I roll over. He leaves the door cracked open an inch like normal and seemed to have gone to his room.
As my new routine dictated I waited for him to go to sleep before I pulled out my phone. I texted Billy everything that went down even though I was sure the guys had already told him.
Afterwards I cleared the phone and looked for a new hiding spot for it and the charger. If he planned to redo the room I knew he'd snoop so I needed to be more clever.
Crawling around on the floor I found what I needed: a loose floorboard. Popping the board up I placed the stuff inside and put it back in place. To ensure I'd find it again I took my nail and pressed a tiny X in it.
Getting back into bed I feel much better about this spot. He'd have no reason to change the dark floorboards of the room.
That night I managed to get a great night of sleep for the first time in a while. I felt like finally I had a leg up on him. He might be stronger and faster than me, maybe even smarter but thanks to his own greed I finally have a nuclear option, a card I can play at any moment that would end it all. Unfortunately it would probably be the death of me and many others if not done correctly.
He gave me a direct line to the public. One well worded statement to the news and his empire of blood and intimidation would come crashing down and crush him beneath the tremendous weight. Not yet though, I had to wait for the perfect time. If I was rash about it he'd make me regret it.
For now I will just have to play along. I was wrong in the past for playing fawn with him. Homelander was much smarter than he'd let on. He knew I wasn't the servile type. He knew I was my mother's daughter. The nicer I was to him the less I fought the more he knew how much I was faking it. I couldn't be too sweet, I couldn't be too mean. If I bruise his ego he'd snap and might hurt me or someone else. Yet again this game I'm forced to play comes down to a painfully delicate balancing act. I'm walking on a barbed wire tightrope, below me is certain death. One small dip, or flinch to the side and it would be over.
I wasn't sure why he was being so nice but I wasn't dumb enough to think it would last. Despite his almost docile and apologetic attitude in the last few hours I couldn't help but feel it was the calm before the storm. Something was coming, something very bad.
So I'm taking a small hiatus from The Boys and Hannibal fanfic. I may work on the Batfam blog but not sure yet. I brunt myself out on writing, I flew too close to the sun. 😅 I hope you all understand and are not disappointed. I'll be around just probably not posting parts. 🤗
Howdy folks! It's going to be a few days before I post again. I have a small cold but the headache makes it hard to write. I'll be back soon. I know I left the Hannibal fic at a tense moment that wasn't my intention but it shouldn't be too long before I'm back. I hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week! 🤗❤
Small update the next part will be a little late my apologies. I got super into shameless U.S. it's so good and it has been taking up a lot of my nights. The part should be finished in a few day. ✌
Warnings: Gore, blood, death. It's kinda a gross one.
Homelander passed out on the couch. It wasn't ideal but I had to get the info to Billy. He had fallen asleep while watching some kind of war movie, the sound of bombs going off and men screaming should mask any sound I make.
I carefully hobble to the desk and pull out the phone. It still had a full charge. Billy didn't think far enough ahead to smuggle in a charger. I sneak back to my bed and start telling Billy everything that happened today. He was glad to hear everything was signed and official so I'd have some kind of paper trail if something happened to me.
When I told him about Ryan he wasn't surprised or even seemed to care that much. He wanted more info on Ryan's mom Becca. I wasn't sure why till he told me. I almost couldn't believe it.
Billy less than politely told me to try and spend as much time as I could over there. He wasn't happy with how little info I had on the location. I promised him I'd help him get Becca and Ryan out of there.
Once we finished for the night I deleted everything and turned the phone off. Homelander had mentioned a doctor visit tomorrow. If I do end up getting bolted to this bed I would have to keep the phone close. I looked around for a hiding spot that was in reaching distance to me. I grabbed the teddy bear in the Homelander costume that was given to me my first night here. I slip the phone into the pants of the bear and wedge the bear between the wall and the bed frame. It was going to have to be good enough.
I fell asleep that night to the sound of artillery shells and the screams of dying men. I didn't like how easy it was for me to get a full five hours like this.
Homelander was up bright and early today. I wasn't sure if at some point in the night he moved to his bed. He had just gotten home from somewhere. He had been slipping out every so often. I think it's him testing me so I was sure not to take the bait and run. He came into my room and flipped on the light.
"Come on, we have an appointment to get to." He says as he pulls the covers off me. I groan and look up at him.
"When will the Doc be here?" I ask seeing if I could weasel a few more precious minutes of sleep out of him.
"We are going to him. You need X-rays." He says as he grabs me some clothes from my closet and sets them on my lap. Anyday I get to leave this penthouse was a good day. Homelander left and I got around.
We had to go to the hospital for X-rays. There was something surreal about seeing Homelander under such harsh white light. He looked like a doll. Not a hair out or place and always smiling.
He insisted on carrying me in. He said it was a great photo opportunity for the paparazzi. There were a few news crew's outside the hospital and a few press members in the lobby outside the room we were kept in.
The X-rays were simple enough. The doctor took off my cast and it was the closest to heaven I'll ever get. It felt so nice to be able to itch the skin that's normal under the plaster prison.
Once the X-rays were done a new smaller cast was placed on my ankle. The doctor was a bit worried about me being on it too much to which Homelander asked if I needed to have my leg bolted down. The doctor clearly thought it was a joke because he just laughed. My ankle seemed to have healed itself a bit more on its own. The fracture was much smaller than it had been last night. The doctor was very impressed; he estimated it wouldn't be longer than 2 weeks before the cast could be taken off fully.
Homelander took me back home but to my surprise he took me to the tower's doctor. I was scared he was going to try and go over the hospital's doctor to get me bolted to the bed.
"Hey Doc. Got her right here." He said as he sat me down on the small examination bed. They both seemed to know what was going on. The Doc pulled out a needle and scalpel.
"Homelander what's going on?" I ask looking up at him. I didn't like the look on Homelander's face. He seemed excited.
"The chip. I told you about it yesterday, remember? This is how they get it inside supes that don't have durable skin. The old fashioned way." Homelander smirked down at me while he spoke.
I had completely forgotten about the stupid chip thing. The Doc had pulled out a black chip with a pair of medical tweezers and held it up for me to see.
"I really don't need a chip. I'm not an official member right? Do sidekicks get chipped?" I ask, looking at the old doctor sitting in front of me. He just nods
The man came closer to me and I tried to jump off the bed. Broken ankle be damned. Homelander held his arm out like a seat belt to stop me from escaping. I wasn't scared of the needle or even the pain. I knew if it was put in my arm there was no sneaking off. He'd have my location at all times. I struggled more trying to keep my arm away from the doctor.
"Why don't we do this like we had to with your booster shots, kido?" Homelander said as he picked me up and took my spot on the examination bed. He put me down in his lap and wrapped his arms around me. Trapping my arms down to my sides. He laid his head against my back and smiled at the doctor. He was so pleased.
"No Homelander! No no put me down!" I shout as I try to escape him. There was no way I would be able to break his hold. I yell as I kick my good leg against his shin. After one good whack of my heel against his bone I stopped. I didn't need a shattered foot as well. I was helpless to him yet again. I couldn't even try to blind him or anything because my back was too him. My eyes darted to the doctor, he was a feeble looking old man. I could stop him quickly but at what cost? The chip would be put in by a different doctor and I would definitely be in some deep shit. I squeeze my eyes shut and hold my breath.
"I think she's ready Doc." Homelander says as he tightens grip. He sounded almost gleeful. I felt the small prick of a needle in my upper arm. I exhale realizing it actually didn't hurt too bad.
The doctor made a small cut into my skin and placed the chip in. I didn't want to look but Homelander seemed to have no problem with the blood. He lifted his head from my back to get a better few even.
It was done pretty quickly. Something tells me this man had put in a lot of these chips. He sewed up my arm and put a bandage around it. Homelander didn't let me up from his lap.
"See that wasn't so bad. You were being a big baby for nothing." He said as he gave me a little squeeze. "Doc, are we done here? I just use the app right?" Homelander asked as he fished out his phone from his pocket. I couldn't get free even with just one arm holding me. The doctor took his phone and messed with it for a second before handing it back. Homelander looked at the screen and grinned. "Look at that, you are right here." Homelander said as he stood up leaving me to dangle over his arm like I was a coat.
Homelander made no attempt to give me a more comfortable ride as he walked back to the penthouse. I had to pull myself up so all my weight wasn't left hanging on my ribs. Does he know how much of a pain this is? Does he care?
We get home and he sets me down on the couch. He turns on the TV and hums as he goes to the kitchen.
He wasn't watching a war movie last night, he was watching the History Channel. It was a WWII marathon of some kind.
"You interested in nazi Germany?" I ask suspiciously.
"Not really but a friend of mine is so I'm just brushing up on my history. " He said as he came back with a drink.
I wince at the gory black and white footage of the war. Homelander didn't seem to bat an eye.
"Who's your friend? They a history teacher or something?"
"Nope." He didn't care to elaborate further.
"Alright… Can we go to dinner at Ryan's tonight?" The more time I spend with them the better. Maybe if I really play my cards right he will leave me and Becca alone and I can try to make a plan with her.
"No, we are going to dinner with Stormfront." I looked over at him surprised.
"I thought you hated her? Why the hell are we having dinner with her?"
"Adult relationships can be messy, complicated." He says as he kicks his feet up on the coffee table.
"Why do I have to come? You have the chip thing now, just go without me." Say as I point to the bandage. Homelander thought about it for a second. He pursed lips and sucked his teeth.
"What would you do if I left you here all alone?"
"Probably just watch TV. Brush up on the briefing file Edgar left. Might sleep. I can keep myself entertained."
"I have no doubt you can." He says in a skeptical tone. He didn't seem convinced.
"You get alone time with Stormfront. You guys could skip dinner all together. Maybe go back to her place. Watch a movie, do your taxes or whatever adults do when they are alone." I say with a smirk. He crooks an eyebrow up as he gives me a side eye.
"You make a good point. Alright, yeah this might work. I'll call you a pizza and you stay put and let your old man have some alone time with his new lady friend." He Stood up and patted his sides looking for his phone. "I'm going to see if she wants to um get a drink or something before dinner." He said as he went to his room to make his call.
I almost couldn't believe that worked. I tried to play it cool as I changed the channel to some reality show. I didn't want him to have any reason to think I was up to something. Once he leaves I plan on calling Billy. I'll get him to bring over a phone charger and see what he thinks about the chip. I was pretty sure I could get it out but I wasn't too keen on trying alone. I have never had to pull something from the muscle in my arm. I could fuck up and rip something. I felt better having someone there in case I do.
Homelander came back out with a grin. He seemed a bit rushed. He must have really liked Stormfront. The last person I saw him rush around like this for was Stillwell.
"Hey, what ever happened to you and Stillwell? I thought you guys were like dating." I say as I turn the TV down. He chuckled a bit as he finished off his drink.
"We weren't dating, we were just having sex and I had to kill her. It's her fault though. She lied to me and you know how much I hate liars don't you angel face?" He asked as he kissed the top of my head.
"Yeah of c-course. Um can you hand me my crutches so I can get the door for the pizza when it comes?" I ask as I point to the crutches leaning against the wall in the hallway. He thinks about it for a second. I know he was thinking about making me crawl for them when I needed them but he must have been in a good mood because he just ruffled my hair before bringing them to me.
"Here sweetie. Now tell me what I'll do to you if I see your little dot move from this area?" He asks so nicely with a big flashy grin. I look around as if the answer he wanted would be written on the walls. I only had one strong guess.
"Um you will break my legs?"
"That's right, you are so smart. So be good. We want to get you all ready for sidekick duties, right?." He sounded so condescending. I just nod agreeing with him. "I'll call you in a pizza in a few hours. One of the security guards will bring it up. I'm not sure when I'll be back. Don't wait up. Bye love you." He said as he made his way out.
I waited 10 minutes on the dot before using the crutches to go into my room. I started to Facetime billy. He didn't answer the first time so I kept calling. Finally the phone answered but it was just the ceiling.
"I got him to leave me alone in the house. He's on a date." I say making sure to show him all around the room. The phone shook as he came into frame.
"I don't care if he's out, don't call me, what do you not understand about text only?"
"Don't lecture me. I'm doing you a favor by staying with this psycho. I need a charger and he chipped me."
"He what?"
"Is that Simone?" I heard Hughie ask off camera.
"Hey Hughie, can you make Billy bring me a charger?" I ask as he popped into view behind Billy.
"Will you two cunts focus! What did he do?" Billy asked as he tried to get Hughie out of frame.
"All the 7 members are chipped so he had one put in me. Think M.M. can help me get it out? And I need a charger for the phone. I can't leave the penthouse but you guys could come here." I say as I plop down on the couch.
"I'll see what we can do. Tower security and cameras are the issues. I'll work it out. Be ready for us. Make sure and text if things change."
"You got it, thanks guys. See you soon." I say as I wave at the screen. Billy let's Hughie have the phone as he waves back to me.
"See you! Stay safe." The call ended and I tossed the phone on the seat next to me. I wasn't sure how they'd get in but if anyone could it would be them.
I tried to watch TV but with every passing minute I feared something happened to them. There are so many ways this could backfire for them and me.
An hour passed when I heard a knock at the door. I grabbed my phone and put it in my pocket before getting up to answer the door. As soon as the door is opened 3 men push their way in. They all had some kind of hat covering their heads. I knew right away it was the boys, at least some of them.
"Ma petite poulette! You have gotten taller!" Frenchie exclaimed as he ripped off his hat. He had some kind of controller with a screen on it in his hands.
"Hey kid we don't have long." M.M. said as he sat down and opened his medical bag up. Hughie tossed me a charger as he held out his arms for a hug. I wasted no time hugging him. Frenchie hugged us both as he laughed. I was so happy to see them. I was a little disappointed that Billy didn't come but I understand. He's laying extra low.
"You have gotten taller and um your leg." Hughie says as he looks down at my cast.
"It's alright, it's almost healed. Come on, sit down, make yourself at home." Frenchie looked around with a disgusted expression.
"This is exactly what I thought Homelander's house would look like, ugly.
"No it's not too bad. The couch is um nice kinda." Hughie says as he sits down.
"Alright kid come here let me see what I can do." M.M. said as he patted the spot next to him.
"I think I can use my powers to get it out. I'm just not sure I'd be able to get through all the tissue. The guy really tucked it in there." I said as I grabbed a hand held mirror and sat down.
"You can do that? See inside of yourself?" M.M. asks as he starts to undo the bandage.
"I think so. Never tried it in a mirror before but I don't see why it wouldn't. If it doesn't you can take it out right?" I say as he gets the bandage off and looks at the fresh stitches.
"Looks simple enough, yeah." M.M. start to cut the stitches.
"You are not going to give her something?" Hughie asks as he scoots as far away from us as possible on the couch.
"Local anesthetic takes time to get, time we didn't have. Stop moving the couch." M.M. says as he looks over at Hughie. Hughie stands up apologizing under his breath as Frenchie looks through the house.
"What's that thing in your hand Frenchie?" I yell from the living room. He pops his head out from the hall.
"It puts security cameras on a loop whenever it gets near. He says as he continues his snooping.
I wince as M.M slowly snips at the stitches. He takes the mirror from me and hands it to Hughie.
"Here, get behind me and hold this for her so I grab the chip as soon as I see it." He says while he gets out a pair of tweezers and holds a towel under my arm to stop blood from getting on the couch. Hughie gets into place and closes his eyes.
"You need a hand to hold, Poulette" Frenchie offers as he comes back into the room. I chuckle a bit and shake my head no. I help Hughie move the mirror where I need it and try.
At first my vision doesn't work in the mirror. I could see through the boys' bodies so I was sure it was working. It was like flexing a muscle in a literal sense as well. I can see the familiar glowing blue hue as I try to focus on my arm in the mirror. Slowly it starts to come into view. I can see the muscles of my own arm.
Blood starts to drip faster from the wound as I move the muscles and tendons to push the chip forward. It was awful. It felt like a bug was digging through my arm. The issue arose when the chip passed the muscle but was still hidden by fat and tissue. I had never worked with fat cells before; they are normally an afterthought. They were slippery and very difficult to move. I was so focused on my work I hadn't realized how badly my eyes hurt.
"I'll get it, stop." I heard M.M. say. He sounded a bit worried. I knew one wrong move and I could blow out my whole arm. All the movement around me was pulling my attention from what needed to be done. M.M. started to yell about something so I closed my eyes. As soon as I did it was like someone hit me in the chest. All the air left my lungs. Gasping, I open my eyes and for a brief second all I see is red. A towel is pressed against my face by Frenchie. He wiped my eyes like I had been crying.
"I said I could get it, kid just sit back." M.M. yelled as Frenchie finally lifted the towel from my face. It was covered in blood. My eyes must have been bleeding. That can't be good.
"It's not out?" I pant as I lean against the back of the couch.
"No, what the hell's wrong with you? I told you I could get it. You didn't need to strain like that." M.M. scolded me as Hughie pulled the mirror away.
"I didn't realize I was. I have done way more taxing things. Why was that so hard?" I was speaking to myself as much as I was to M.M. he seemed to know that because he didn't offer an answer. He held my arm tight as he used the tweezers to look for the chip. This hurt way more, I pulled from him ever so slightly.
"Don't fuck with me right now, Simone." He warned as he continued to dig. Hughie gagged and moved away from the couch.
"If you puke I'll make you eat it Hughie." I say through gritted teeth. I hated how much I sounded like Homelander. This was pretty gross, I can't blame him.
"I'm good, I'm good." He said as he choked back a gag.
The tweezers caught something hard. M.M. pulled out the small black chip.
"Alright I got it." He cleaned it with the towel and handed it to me. Frenchie didn't ask this time as he grabbed my hand to hold. Hughie excused himself and went into the kitchen as M.M. sewed up the cut again. Somehow that was the worst part. The needle slipped back through the tender skin over and over. It made me want to punch something.
We cleaned up and triple checked for any blood. Just as we said our goodbyes there was a knock at the door. We all looked at each other in horror before the boys scrambled into my room to hide. I opened the door and there was a man in a security guard outfit holding a pizza box. I grinned remembering Homelander was going to get me a pizza.
"Thank you so much." I say as I take it. From the man, he wasn't one of the normal security guards, I didn't recognize him. He stuck his foot in the door to stop me from closing it.
"Wait you are Homelander's daughter right? I'm a big fan."
"Oh um yeah thank you." I say as I try to close the door again but his foot didn't move. He made a disgusted face.
"No, I'm not a fan of you. I'm his fan. I know what you are up to." He said as he pushed his way in between the door more. I started to panic. What did he know? Did he see the guys come up?
"You really need to leave." I say as I try to push him from the doorway. I couldn't get any grip with my crutches and cast.
"You are taking advantage of his kindness. You might be his daughter but you don't deserve his love. You just want to use him." The man had managed to step fully inside now. I put the pizza down and tried to pull him out. I was losing my patience with this lunatic.
"Whatever man, just get out before I call for real security." I warned him. I didn't want to have to kill this guy. It was too big of a risk. What if Homelander didn't believe my story?
"Your gold digging whore of a mom probably put you up to this." The man spoke as he pushed his way into the penthouse further. "Is he here? I want to talk to him. He needs to know he's being used." I wanted to hurt him, I knew he wasn't talking about my real mom but it still made me mad. "That's all you girls do. Use good men like Homelander and I." He continued his rant and I had to just laugh at him.
"Yeah, you and Homelander are so alike, real great men. Get out before I have to hurt you." I said as I followed him to the living room. He was looking around amazed. Each thing impressed him more than the last. When he got close to my room one of the boys pulled the door shut.
"Was that him?" He asked as he marched over and pulled on the doorknob. I had about enough. I tried to pull him by his jacket when he turned around and pulled a can of mace out and sprayed me with it. I scream and fall to the ground grabbing my eyes. My bedroom door is slammed open and he's attacked by M.M. and Frenchie. Hughie slips out and tries to help me.
"Holy fuck did you get pepper sprayed!?" He yelled as the man screamed in pain. I opened my eyes and got the most intense burning feeling. But I had to try and help. M.M. was making quick work of him but he still had the mace. He got M.M. right in the eyes causing Frenchie to join in. It was a shit show. We all were coughing and crying from the mace. I got so fed up with this ruckus I let my anger get the best of me and I pulled the man's esophagus out from his neck. It wasn't painless but it was quick.
Hughie opened the windows as the three of us used the bathroom sink to try and get the spray off of us. Hughie must have caught a glimpse of the man's throat on the outside of his body because he ran into the bathroom vomiting.
"You guys need to go. I have to get a hold of Homelander." I panted out. My eyes were sore enough from straining them but now they were on fire. They kept bleeding on and off as I scrubbed them. I knew I would have to take a break from my vision till the pain stopped.
"No way, we need to help you clean this up. There is a body in your hallway." M.M. said as he dried his puffy face.
"No, leave him, leave it all. I know what to tell Homelander." I say as they try to gather themselves.
Frenchie used his controller thing to make sure the man entering was caught on camera but they were not. M.M. wrapped up my arm while Hughie focused on not vomiting again.
It was a painful goodbye because I wasn't sure when I'd see them again but also because of the pepper spray still lingering in the room.
Once they left I hid all my paraphernalia in my room and avoided the puddle of blood that was forming around the man. This was a mess but at least I had the chip. I was sure to keep it in my pocket as I stumbled down to the front desk on the crutches. Making a big show of how weak and defenseless I was I fell in the lobby as the two normal security guards rushed over to me.
"Call my dad please! I was attacked." I cried out. A guard ran for the desk phone as the other held me. This part was almost too easy. Foot in a cast, my face red and puffy from the spray. How could they not fall for it? Homelander would be the real obstacle.
Warnings: Just general obsessive behavior and some abuse.
My hand shook as I held the note. I was so delicate with it like it might disintegrate in my touch. It was written on a flimsy napkin. All it said was left couch cushion. 7777 Love uncle Billy. It was short and sweet. I knew if I got up now Homelander would hear. The wait for my captor to sleep was always the worst. I never knew if he was going to come into my room to just stand and stare.
Soon I was pretty sure he was asleep. I couldn't hear his footsteps in his room. My crutches were nowhere to be seen and my wheelchair was at the table. I was going to have to crawl.
The humiliating act was worth seeing what Billy had done to the cushion. I got to the living room with minimal noise. I patted the cushion and nothing happened. So I lifted it, taped on the bottom of the cushion was a smartphone. I couldn't believe my eyes at first. How did they get in his penthouse? It had to be when we were at the party.
I crawl back to my room and close the door fully. Naively I pull the covers over my head as if it would hide me. It had a pass code, I typed in the code on the note and the phone opened. Inside there was only one contact, it was one number under the name (Limey Prick). I sent it a text.
"Hello?"
"Turn your phone on silent then facetime." I turn the ringer off and then I call. It rang for 3 rings then picked up. In the frame was a shady looking ceiling. The phone shook as Billy came into frame. He just grinned and ended the call.
It was probably just to check I was the one they were talking to. I received a text shortly after.
"We are working on something big. Are you whole?"
"Mostly, when can you get me?"
"We are working on it. I saw the news. I need you to do a little undercover work for your uncle Billy. 😈" Oh God, who taught him how to use emojis? Was he serious? I can't stay here for one second longer.
"No, I need to get out of here. He broke my ankle. He's going to do alot worse. I need you to get me out."
"No can do. Your name is public, to millions of his cocksucking fans you are his daughter. We can use that to undermine all of Vaught, not just him."
"I'm not his daughter though!"
"I know that cunt, you have a golden opportunity. Homelander America's hero, isn't going to hurt his daughter who's in the public eye. His need for power and frame just handed you your biggest weapon against him." I hated that Billy was making sense. I knew where this was going.
"You want me to stay with him. You are going to leave me with this animal?"
"I didn't give you to him. You got caught. I'm looking at the silver lining, we can't get your ass out of there yet. It's too risky. Play the public against him, kiss ass till I say. I promise you we will pull you out before anything goes to hell. Trust your uncle Billy. Only use this phone at night to update me and the boys, better hide it well you're not getting another. Delete all of the conversation as soon as we get done talking. Text me tomorrow night." I wanted to cry, I had built my hopes up so high. I thought this was my saving grace. I thought I was getting out.
With tears in my eyes I deleted all our texts and looked for somewhere to hide the damn thing. I thought about just calling the press. I had the phone, I had the ability to but I'd have no protection. Only the boys could stop Homelander and if I fuck up Billy's plans there is no way he'd hide me. I'd just have to play along for a bit. Even if it killed me.
Using the wall I shuffle my way to the desk. I take some tape from the art kit in the room and tape the phone under one of the drawers. My cast started to slip out from under me and I pulled down a cup of pencils as I fell. I froze in place. Homelander's bed frame creaked as he rolled over.
"Simone?" He called from the other room. I had to think of something quick. If I made him get out of bed to check he'd be pissed. I dragged myself to the hall and used his door frame to pull myself up. My ankle was a blaze with pain as I put weight on it. I pushed his door open and looked into his dimly lit room.
"I had a nightmare." I say softly. He was laying on his side looking at me. I could tell he was trying to see my game. "I'm going to go back to bed sorry for waking you."
"If you are scared you can sleep in bed with me. Come lay down." He pulled down the covers for me to get in. He even slept in his suit. What a fucking weirdo.
"No, I'm fine. I'm not scared I was just startled."
"I said come lay down." His tone darkened and I knew he wasn't offering, he was demanding. I couldn't argue with him but sharing a bed with this unstable individual didn't sound like a good idea. He patted the spot next to him growing impatient.
I nod and use the wall to hobble my way to the tall bed. It was huge. California king, it was at least 3 ½ feet off the ground. It was a bitch to climb up in. Finally I was able to hoist my leg high enough to roll in. One good thing about such a big bed was I could have lots of space from Homelander.
The far right side of the bed, facing away from him seemed like the safest spot from him. I took the pillow I was using and put it between us. He chuckles and puts it back at the top of the bed.
"Don't be so dramatic, I'm not going to hurt you." He says as he pulls me to him. I try to dig my fingertips into the edge of the bed but of course that does nothing to stop him. He wraps his arms around my body. One across my waist and the other just under my arms around my chest.
"This is too close." I say as I try to wiggle free from him. He buried his face in my hair and took a deep breath. He wasn't trying to be subtle about his creepy behavior, he didn't have to be. How was I going to stop him?
"You even smell like her…" He whispers as he nozzles his face deeper. I froze up yet again. I was fairly sure he didn't want me in any other way than as a daughter, but the way his voice sounded made my stomach drop.
Crying was all I could think to do. He seemed to not want me near him when I cried so maybe he would have the same reaction this time.
I start to sob and he lifts his head from my hair. I thought it had worked.
"Poor thing that nightmare really did scare you. It's alright, your Homelander is here." My sob became a gag as he spoke. He laughed a little and let go of me. "Goodnight, angel face." He said as he rolled over and gave me some space. He was just fucking with me again. My nerves couldn't take much more of his games.
Even though I was freezing there was no way I was going to get under the covers with him.
At some point I fell asleep. It wasn't a restful night, I kept waking up half panicked and checking where he was in the bed. He never got closer than his back touching mine.
The next time I woke up to look for Homelander he was gone. There wasn't a trace of him in the room. I heard voices in the living room speaking. My crutches were resting against the nightstand. Those were not there last night.
Using them I made my way to the living room. Homelander was talking to an older man.
"Oh good Simone, this is Stan Edgar. He's the big cheese around these parts." Homelander was trying to sound cheerful but I could hear the venom in his words.
"Good to finally meet you Simone, your father here seemed to have been hiding you away for some time." Edgar said this like it was a joke but he had no idea how right he was.
"You could say that." I say with a chuckle as I shake his hand. He looked down at my cast.
"Wow you really don't have your father's strength." I look down at it as well.
"Oh yeah, it should be healed soon though. Is it a problem? I was looking forward to getting out there and doing my part as soon as possible." I say as I take a seat at the table with the men. Homelander gives me a look. He was likely wondering why I was so eager all of a sudden I needed to tone it down a bit.
"No, not at all. You are polling great with teens and young adults, actually and no one's even seen you in your suit yet. I think the cast works for you. Real underdog story, you are more fragile than the average supe, it's relatable, inspirational almost. The child of Homelander can get a broken bone. It gives an element of danger when you go out there. The creative team is very excited to flush out your image more." Edgar said as he poured himself some tea.
"Sure, the kids got a bit of a glass jaw but do you really think marketing her as just like a human is a good idea. She's powerful, she has so much potential as a full fledged 7 member. She's a real killer, Stan." Homelander was quick to question the idea. Something about his pseudo child being portrayed as an everyday Joe rubbed him the wrong way.
"Oh I have no doubt She's a killer given who her mother and father are." His friendly exterior dropped as he sipped his tea. It was like someone pressed pause on Homelander and I. It was funny seeing him get tripped up the way I do.
"I don't kno-"
"Don't play dumb Homelander, it's pathetic. Did you really think I didn't recognize her? That's Alphonse Bishop's kid through and through. Luckily for her I don't believe that the sins of the father should affect the child. That being said I'm sure she is not against a little blood shed to get her why, just like her thief of a mother." Both Homelander and I had a physical reaction to his slander of my mom.
"Are you going to tell on me, Stan? She should have been my kid. It's only right I took her in." Homelander said, getting defensive. Edgar looked across the table at me. He didn't seem pleased.
"No, don't be so short sighted. If I sell you out the press might start looking deeper into the unpleasantness at the bishop family compound. I'd be implicated in a massive cover-up. I can't have that. I don't care what you are doing with her. So long as she is there with a smiling face for the camera's. What I don't understand is; You have a biological son, why keep her around? Don't tell me it's because of her mother." This asshole talked so callously about a slaughter. I wanted to pop his ribcage in but I knew that wouldn't help me any. Not yet at least. There was a more pressing matter.
"You have a son?" I ask looking up at a seething Homelander.
"It was supposed to be a surprise, Stan. She was going to meet him today. And why I keep her is between me and myself."
"This is very messy, Homelander. Very foolish. I expect better of you. She's not Diana, you killed her remember? Like a pestilent child you threw a tantrum. That we all had to clean up for you." Was Edgar trying to get him to snap? What was he thinking?
Homelander picked up his fists to slam on the table but stopped himself as he stared at Edgar. He slowly brought them down and rested them on his thighs.
Edgar didn't look worried in the slightest. He was just a man, how could he feel safe talking to Homelander like that? If I didn't hate him so much I'd almost admire him.
"If you guys hadn't fired her she would have never ran off with that Unabomber wannabe." Homelander say through gritted teeth.
"Oh please, you know as well as anyone she was seeing Alphonse long before we had to fire her for stealing vials of compound V. You couldn't stand the idea of someone not wanting you anymore so you killed her. That's on you." Edgar didn't mince words when speaking. I wanted to interject to defend my family but he was starting to fill in some pieces of information I never knew.
"No! I had to! She was throwing away her life with him! I told her to come back with me. I begged her, sh-" Edgar interrupted him.
"And she decided she would rather die than be with you. I know it all is probably so tragic for you. My heart bleeds for you, honestly Homelander but that doesn't change what you did. It was no one else's fault but your own." Homelander's eyes glowed red. I was sure I was about to witness a murder. Edgar just looked at him.
He had to have some kind of fail-safe put into place otherwise he wouldn't be so bold. I wasn't sure what it could be but it had to be solid. No sane man would talk this way to Homelander without an airtight plan in the event of his death.
"He's not worth it. You might win the battle but the war would be his." I say softly looking over at Homelander. He must have agreed because his eyes went back to normal.
"Look at that she's got her mother's wit as well. Lucky you." Edgar said as he stood up. "I'll be in touch. Everything is all set for her to join Vaught officially." He pulled a pen from his suit jacket and got out a contract of some kind from his briefcase. He laid it down in front of me and handed me the pen.
"Go ahead, my team already looked at it. Mr. Edgar was very generous on the conditions." Homelander says never taking his eyes from him. Homelander's face twitched with anger. He wanted to kill him so badly it was palpable.
Edgar didn't seem to care death himself was chomping at the bit to end his life. He was a poisoned piece of meat just waiting for a rabid dog like Homelander to eat it. I was certain killing him would cause a bigger problem for us both.
I signed as soon as Homelander gave the okay. Edgar took his pen and contract and tucked them away. Part of me couldn't help but to feel like I just signed away my soul.
"It's going to be a pleasure working with you. We are going to make a lot of money together." Edgar says as he shakes my hand.
Stan Edgar left soon after thanking Homelander for the hospitality. I have never seen Homelander look so helpless. If it was anyone else I might want to root for him. That Edgar guy was so pompous and sure of himself it made my skin crawl.
Homelander just sat looking out the window for a while. I wasn't sure if I should act like nothing happened. I wasn't sure I could.
"So you have a kid? Like one that's related to you?"
"Yep" He said with a slight nod. He was thinking about something. Probably fantasizing about how he'd kill Edgar if given the chance.
"You said I was going to meet them? That might cheer you up." I said as I leaned back in the chair. He finally gave up on his staring contest with himself in the window's reflection and looked at me.
"You are interested in meeting my boy?" I just nod. If he was treating him anything like me, maybe some solidarity between victims would be good for us. I could get this kid some help if Billy ever gets me out of here.
Homelander smiled at me and nodded back. He stood up and handed me my crutches. "Go get around. We can leave as soon as you are ready." I was so surprised by how his mood changed just by offering to go see his son.
I took the crutches and got around like I was told. I couldn't help but wonder what a son of Homelander would be like. What if he was as cruel as his father, as if that was even possible.
We left once I was finished. He said we could have breakfast at his boy's house. He seemed so excited by the idea. We flew over a certain point and Homelander covered my eyes.
"No peeking, it's kinda a secret." He said with a playful tone. It wasn't long before he descended from the sky. He pulled his hand away and let me see again. It was a normal house. I wasn't sure what I was expecting but it wasn't this. "I don't have to tell you not to act like a bitch right?" He asked as we walked to the steps.
"Of course, I'll behave." I say with a fake grin. He seemed satisfied with my promise and opened the door. The house was so normal. The kind you see on TV in a sitcom.
"Honey I'm home!" He called through the house. A woman poked her head around the corner.
"I thought we talked about you not just dropping by. Who's she?" She asked as he looked me up and down.
"This is my daughter Simone. Remember when I told you I had experience with kids? I figured she and Ryan should get to know each other." He said as he walked further into the living room. The woman looked scared and uncomfortable. She folded her arms and looked at me. She was trying to figure out what I was; can she be trusted?
"Why would they need to know each other? Who's your mom?" The last part was clearly directed at me.
"Because they are half siblings, Becca, that's why. And don't worry about who her mom is. She was the love of my life. That's all you need to know. Now where is my boy?" He asked as he looked around the general area as if his son might be hidden somewhere.
Whenever Homelander would turn his back Becca and I would stare at each other. It was becoming increasingly obvious she was just as much of a captive as me.
"He's in the back." Becca finally answered. She turned and opened a sliding glass door. Homelander and I followed. Outside playing with a ball and mit was a young blonde boy. He looked just like Homelander; it was almost uncanny.
"Hey Ryan. I want you to meet someone. This is Simone, my daughter. Simone, this is Ryan." Homelander said with a big grin. I look at Homelander then back at this boy. He seemed hesitant as well.
I have to take the initiative and hold out my hand.
"Hey, nice to meet you." I say as I look at him almost pleadingly. I knew Homelander would get restless if we took too long.
"Right, hi." He said as he finally took my hand.
"I like your shirt." I say trying to make small talk. Ryan looks down at his shirt then back to me with a wide grin.
"Thanks, it's my favorite show! You know it?"
"Of course I do!" I say with a chuckle. I didn't have a clue what cartoon was on his shirt but he seemed to be happy so I wasn't going to pop his bubble.
"Look at you two! Already best friends. Ryan, she's like your big sister. She just has a different mom." Homelander said as he patted me on the back. Ryan looked up at me with stars in his eyes. He looked like he was actually happy to have me as a sister. It felt kinda nice.
"Sweet! Wanna play catch with me and hom- I mean dad?" He seemed a little embarrassed he almost called him Homelander. Before I could answer, Homelander stopped me.
"Oh no kido she's not like us. She has different powers. We don't want her getting hurt any more." He said as he pointed down to my cast and crutches.
"Oh…. What can you do?" He asked, sounding disappointed. I hated that fucking question at least there wasn't many people around for him to make me demonstration on. Come to think of it, this culdesac didn't have any people walking around. It was eerily quiet. It was a gorgeous day out and the next door neighbor wasn't in their pool, no one was walking any dogs.
"Well champ she has a really cool power she'll show you some other time." Homelander said, looking down at me. He was trying to protect Ryan. He really seemed to care for him in his own fucked up way.
"I'm making pancakes. You wanna help Simone?" Becca called from the sliding glass door. I looked at Homelander who looked a little annoyed but he still nodded.
"Yeah sure, I'll talk to you later Ryan." I said as I walked inside. Ryan waved before starting to play with his dad.
Becca smiled at me and motioned for me to come closer. I gave her a strange look but obliged. She held her hand down to her side. Inside was a little bit of paper. I make sure Homelander was still focused on Ryan before taking it.
Written in shaky handwriting, the note was simple.
You here willingly? It confirmed my suspension, he took them as well. I shake my head no as I stare at her. She looked like she might cry. She nodded slowly and lit a blunt on the stove top. We turn our backs to the window as she takes a drag then hands it to me. We didn't have to say much. There wasn't a lot to say. Not a lot we could say either with him right outside.
We passed the blunt around a few times before she snuffed it and finished up the pancakes. They had blueberries just like the ones he made in the morning.
"Oh you like blueberry pancakes too?" I ask out loud deeming it inconspicuous enough.
"Fucking hate them. But him and Ryan like them." She says as she hands me plates to set the table with. She waves her hand at me to get my attention then mouths "You really his?" While motioning her head towards Homelander. I shake my head no again. Her nose wrinkles up a bit in disgust as she shakes her head. "Sick bastard." She whispers just as Homelander and Ryan walk in.
"What was that?" Homelander asked as he took a seat across from Ryan.
"Nothing, just chatting. Here, sit down, Simone." She says as she kisses Ryan on the forehead before giving him a pancake. I sit down next to Homelander begrudgingly. At least Becca wouldn't have to if you did.
Homelander talked while we all ate. Even Ryan seemed hesitant around him. On some level he could tell his dad was a monster. Kids are smart, they pick up on when one parent is scared of the other.
It probably wasn't right but I had to know it's it was probable. looked through Ryan using my vision. He seemed to be in perfect health. I wonder if he was as strong as Homelander. I knew he had his dad's powers but maybe because he wasn't fully grown I'd be able to do something. I quickly closed my eyes, what was wrong with me? Was I seriously considering trying to hurt this innocent kid just for a shot at escaping Homelander.
"You alright sweetheart?" Homelander asked as he patted back back a bit too hard. My eyes pop open as I nod.
"Yep, just a headache."
"Oh no. Ryan, why don't you get your sister an Aleve?"
"Sure dad. I'll be right back." He said as he hopped down from his seat and ran to the bathroom. Once he was out of earshot Homelander's face changed.
"So why am I a sick bastard?" He asked, looking between Becca and I. She didn't seem shy once her son was out of the room.
"Because you kidnapped someone's kid!" Her tone was a mix between a whisper and a shout. Homelander looked at me, I knew I was in some deep shit.
"Is that what she said? I kidnapped her."
"No, of course not. She's not stupid and neither am I. I could see it in her eyes. Where and who are your parents, Simone?" She asked, looking at me. Homelander had a self assured smile.
"No go on, tell her. Don't let me stop your guy's little girl talk."
"They are out of the picture, I'm 18." I say trying to ease her mind as much as I could.
"That's even worse Homelander what the fuck she's not-"
"Found it!" Ryan said as he ran back into the room holding out two Aleve.
"Thank you so much." I say with a big grin as I take them. He smiled and walked back to his seat.
"Good job baby" Becca says as she rubs his back. She kept her eyes on Homelander. She was pretty brave when Ryan was out of the room. She is just trying to protect him, keep him out of it all. She seemed like a good woman. I hated that she was pulled into something like this. I couldn't imagine a lady like her falling for Homelander, well I guess my mom did.
After breakfast we all played monopoly. We couldn't finish it because Homelander was losing so he decided we all should play battle ship. When Ryan sank his cruiser he quit that as well. It would have been funny if I wasn't scared he'd flip on us all.
It was almost time to leave. We were all outside saying our goodbyes. Ryan was pretty sad. I'd imagine so he's probably lonely there doesn't seem to be many kids in the neighborhood.
"Alright buddy we are gonna get going. I'll be back soon" Homelander said as he hugged Ryan.
"Will you bring Simone?" He asked looking up at Homelander.
"Well I don't know I'll see. Her leg is pretty bad. Maybe once it's all better." He said as the corner of his lip twitched. Was Homelander seriously mad Ryan wants to see me again?
"I'll miss you Simone. Make dad bring you along." He said as he gave me a big hug. He almost lifted me off my feet. The little guy really was Homelander's kid. I squeeze him back and laugh.
"I'll try, you know how he can be. But I'll miss you too, kid." I say as I look up at Becca. She looked like she was gonna cry again but forced the tears back when Ryan came over to her.
"I want a hug too. It was good to meet you." She said as she hugged me as well. Being tormented by the same manchild God will make you bond fast.
"Good to meet you too. I'll see you around." I say as I pat her back.
"Alright come on its time to go." Homelander said as he grabbed me and lifted off. He wasn't quick enough to cover my eyes and I got a pretty good look at the neighborhood. It looked like it was walled off. He was keeping them insome kind of compound. He covered my eyes after a few seconds and I couldn't see much else. His grip was tight as he flew. I could feel his hand over my eyes tighten ever so often.
Soon we were home. He sat me down and stood in front of me. He looked pissed. I knew my mistake was being too well liked by his other victims.
"Well you three were cozy. The way you girls laughed when I had to pay taxes on monopoly. Really sweet." He had his hands on his hips. I would have laughed at him again if he didn't scare me so much.
"I thought I was supposed to behave. Isn't it good Ryan and you ex like me?"
"She's not an ex we had sex once." He said as his foot tapped. He looked like a mother who just caught their kid sneaking a cookie.
"Okay so? It should be good Ryan likes me. Are you jealous?" I asked as I lean back and lift my foot up on the chair in front me to elevate it. Without warning Homelander pushed my leg off the chair making it slam down onto the hardwood floor. I scream and fall out of my chair to hold my ankle.
"No of course I'm not jealous of a weakling like you. How dumb are you. I'm his dad. He could never like you more." He sounded horst. I don't even listen to him as I cry and hold my ankle. Walking on it all day made it sore enough but this sent me over the edge.
He sucked his teeth as he looked down at me. He picked me up under my arm pits and put me back in my seat.
"Stop being such a baby. It doesn't hurt that bad, let me see." He said as he sat down across from me and grabbed my cast and rested it on his leg.
"No just stop! It hurts enough!" I yell as I try to pull my leg from him. He used his X-ray vision to look at the bone. I was too busy crying and squirming to watch him.
"It doesn't seem broken anymore then before. I'm gonna have the doc come in and suspend this thing from the ceiling so it can be elevated properly. Maybe he'll even put a bolt in the thing to make sure it stays in place."
"My cast doesn't need a bolt just stop please." I beg as I reach to hold my ankle again.
"No I meant a bolt in your bone to hook the suspension up to." He didn't seem to realize why I wouldn't want that.
"Absolutely not! Just get me a pillow I can elevate it myself no bolt needed. I'm sorry you think your kid likes me more then he likes you but that doesn't mean you can mutilate my ankle further!" He gave me a strange look as I spoke. He shook his head slowly.
"I'm not doing this to mutilate you. I want to make sure this is healed up for you." He said as he rubbed a spot below my knee just above the cast where it had been swollen. I squirmed a bit more but gave up on trying to get my leg back. The steady pressure against the swelling almost felt nice but it also was so sore.
"Just stop acting like you care. I know you just like to see me suffer." I say as I lean my upper body against the table. He looked almost hurt.
"Is that what you think? I mean sure it feels good to hurt you but I don't like that. I really do want you to get better. I don't like seeing this cast on you." He says as his eyes softened. I couldn't take his head games I just lay my head down on the table and give up.
"Oh and the doc has to come tomorrow anyway. Stan wants you to be chipped." He says as he reaches down to my other foot and takes my shoe off for me. I lift my head up.
"What? Like a dog? Why am I getting chipped?"
"All of the 7 are. It's just for insurance. It goes in your arm." He says as he lifts me up and carries me to my bed.
"You have one?" I ask as he gently lays me down.
"Nope, my skins too tough." He grabbed a few pillows from the couch and lifts my foot up with them. Vaught really seemed like they had trust issues. I guess I wouldn't trust the 7 either.
"I meant it you know, I don't like seeing you suffer." Homelander said as he crouched down next to my bed. He's completely ignoring the part where he said he likes to hurt me. I don't want to start a fight so I just agree.
"Yeah alright."
"I'm going to watch a movie want me to put it on in here and we can watch it together?"
"No thanks. I'm going to just play on the switch or something." I say as I pull out the gift from A-train. Homelander walked to the door before stopping.
"Hey you um you did good today. And I'm sorry about your ankle… not the breaking it part but I mean when I pushed it off the chair. That wasn't fair, sorry." I looked up at him stunned. This was the first apology I ever got from him. It wasn't the best, kind of a Homelander apology but he sounded like he meant it. I just nod at him wide eyed.
"Yeah no problem no harm done." I say with a small smile. He nods back and grins before walking out. That wasn't like him, it almost scared me more then his normal self.
I had to wait till he went to sleep before I could update Billy. He's going to loose it when I tell him about Homelander's kid. Maybe they can find the location and get them out.
I looked through my leg. I had to do something about this as well. I'm vulnerable enough, I don't need to be bolted down to a bed for a few weeks. I wasn't sure how good I'd be repairing bone. I stare at the crack in my ankle and try to get the bone marrow to seal it. It feels like a hot poker was pressed against my bone. It never hurts when I heal a cut. I wince and have to stop.
The fracture did seem to be a bit smaller. If I did this slowly enough I could have this thing fixed in no time. That's not so bad. As always Homelander was my biggest threat.
His kindness tonight scared me. He seemed so genuine. He wasn't like that before. What happened?
