You can relax and have adventures!
Good, just as long as you’re safe.Â
I certainly hope so. I'd really like to do both.Â
I will do my best
I’m sure this summer will lead to great adventures.
Your summer will be plenty relaxing, and safe. Really safe. Stay safe.Â
That would be nice. I don't want to be bored, as much as I'd just like to relax.Â
Oh, yes. My mother always makes sure that we're safe. It can be dangerous some times, but I'll be carefull.Â
Sometimes having no plans leads to the best adventures!
I’m sure your parents miss you loads.Â
I guess that could be true.
They do. And I miss them, too. It'll be nice to see them. And just relax after this year.Â
Me too. Not that I have any special plans to look forward too, except finally having a break.
I don't really have any either.
I'm just ready to go home.Â
I'm glad the year is almost over.Â
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
I guess it is, yes. It definitely did. I doubt I’ve had even gotten the letter if not for him, let alone actually acted on it. I think maybe having both is the best way to be. Neither world is a shock to you, that way. I still get surprised at just how much of a difference there is between the cultures.
It sounds like a good idea, but I get the feeling that some of the people from all-magical families would take offence. They look down on Muggles. It doesn’t make that much sense to me, but there isn’t much we can really do to change it.
That's good that he did then. I think it's certainly an advantage to have some idea of both sides. Yeah, it's true. I have the ability to understand both if I need to. Me too, even though I'm rather used to it.
That's the thing. They certainly would raise a fuss and it would never get implemented. They look down on everyone who isn't pure. It doesn't make sense at all to me either. Like you say, there's no way that we could ever get them to change their minds. Though, some are better than others in respect to relation between bloods.
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
I hope so.
He was great. Patient. Especially as, uh, I didn’t quite believe him at first. So then he showed me, and.. yeah. It was a good day. I’ve never worked out why I merited a visit, but I’m glad I did. Disapproving? ..oh. Oh, I understand. Your dad’s a Muggle. It must have been nice growing up with the best of both worlds. Some people with magical parents don’t have a clue about the Muggle world. Imagine not knowing how a toaster works.
I know you'll make it.
It's understandable. Magic's quite a large thing to learn about. I imagine it made things easier. Maybe somehow the school knew or something that it might be hard. Anyway, it sounds like it really helped. Yeah. He is. It was rather nice, now that I've seen what other situations are like. That's true. I can't. It just seems like something everyone knows. But then there's people here who've never seen some of the things I take for granted. It's quite a culture shock for everyone. Sometimes I wonder if every one of those people should have to take Muggle Studies or something. It might be beneficial.
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
True. I can’t wait for OWL’s to just be over and done with.
Hm? Oh. Yes. Yeah, my parents were Muggles. It was brilliant, the day I found out. Actually, it was Professor Pendragon’s son that told me. You know, Arthur. It was crazy to hear that those things you read about in books are actually real, but it was.. amazing. A relief. I guess it was nothing new to you by the time you were old enough.
They'll be over soon and you'll be free once more.
I see. I imagine it was. I've just always known. Oh yeah, of course. I bet he'd be a good one to tell people. He seems fairly calm and less likely to scare away students. I can hardly imagine how that must have felt. Yes, that's true.  My mother's got magic, but her family's...disapproving to say the least, so we didn't interact with them much. But I was still aware of it, so yeah.
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
I’m not sure. Maybe he’s nocturnal or something.
And two more for me. It does goes quickly, doesn’t it? I can’t believe I’ve known about magic for five years. It feels like yesterday, but it kind of also feels like I’ve known forever. Mm, that’s what I’ve found. Everything in moderation.
Yeah, that's a possibility. There's all kinds. Â
It's not so far, either way. At least this year- next year for you- there's no OWLs or NEWTs. Oh, are you muggleborn, then? I'm sure that must really be quite a memory. I can't imagine how it must have been. Exactly.
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
Oh, not a problem. I know how much of a pain not sleeping can be. Clint is the worst I’ve seen, though. You know, one of my dormmates. I swear he never sleeps at all.
It’s worth it, yes. And it’s not forever. I’m doing okay. Better now that I’m not studying every minute I get. I’m doing better at finding the right balance. …Or, at least, I hope I am.
Yeah, it really is. Oh yes, I think I've seen him. I don't know how people can manage like that.
Yeah, just one more year after this for me. It's gone so quickly I can't quite believe it. Yes, certainly that's true. Balance is good. Once you get a schedule, things work much better.
How long have I been here?
Apparently not. Try chamomile, if you’re struggling, maybe? There’s loads in the stock cupboard.
I bet you’ll get back into it over the summer. And then by next September you won’t be able to get up early anymore.
Oh, yes. I'll try that. Thanks for the reccomendation. I'll be sure to pick some up this afternoon.Â
That's probably true. Such is the price we pay for education. It's worth it, though.Â
You seem to be surviving all right, I hope?
How long have I been here?
[chuckles] Yeah, I’d try and stay awake. Have you not been sleeping?
It’s so easy to mess up a sleep schedule, that’s the problem. And then it’s hard to get it right again. Food will always win over sleep for me, I think.Â
Less than usual, yes. Apparently not enough, I suppose.Â
It really is. Who knows if I will ever be able to sleep properly again after I finish school. Same for me.Â
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
I wouldn’t let you sleep through dinner, that would be horrible. You’ve still got another twenty minutes, if that helps.Â
It’s fine. I get what you mean. I don’t understand how people can skip meals.
Thank you so much. Yes that does help, though I should probably try to stay awake for those 20 minutes.
Neither do I. I can completely understand messed up sleep schedules, as shown by the fact I fell asleep just then, but food is really important. At least have one or the other if you can't have both.
How long have I been here?
cutelittleangelofworry:
Don’t worry, it’s only been a couple of hours. Most people left, but I don’t think you missed anything.
Oh, ok.
I just don't remember falling asleep. I suppose I needed it, though.
