iland ep 12 finale episode thoughts - haha one last ride
the time has come and the last episode is here! you best believe i woke up at 5:30am to watch the live broadcast. also @enhypen-jake was a global viewer so we obviously had to wake up early (haha if you see someone with the banner with JAKE written in blue, that’s her).
first of all, i am super happy with the final members. although it was bittersweet without K, i think this group is pretty solid in terms of talent and personality. i feel like the producers did not choose K because of his controversy which is too bad because i was really looking forward to seeing him debut.
of course my boi JAY made it!!! i was super surprised he was 2nd place. i was so nervous Jay wouldn’t make it because heeseung was 5th and i expected him to be in the top 3. also JAKE!! wow that character development, from getting a 40 in the first test to being 3rd! and SUNGHOON!! our skater prince, im so happy for him i was sitting at the edge of my seat waiting for them to call his name. JUNGWON as first place! so well deserved, he was the hidden ace all this time, i could not see the debut group without him. AND NIKI wow what a plot twist!! but so ready to see him shine! i was super surprised SUNOO was eighth place?? like if he was not chosen by the producers he wouldn’t have made it.. and he was first place all the time.
and finally K and daniel...that was super sad. i already had a feeling daniel wouldn’t make it but honestly, at his age, he is already wayyy ahead of his peers so i wouldn’t see this as failure. and K, oh boy. i get so sad thinking about him especially since he is a little old to debut if not now..but i know we will still see K again in the future!
LOL and bangtan! they’re were so funny especially taehyung and the chicken breast! but they definitely have a point. and even though some of their comments seemed kinda generic, if you know bangtan’s history, you will understand what they mean.
WELCOME ENHYPEN! I am so looking forward to your journey!

iland ep. 10 thoughts AGAIN lol
this episode took me on a roller coaster of emotions. first of all, JAY IS THIRD!!! girls, we did it!! jay gets to stay in the top 3 room. second, im so sad that taki is eliminated but i kinda saw it coming. i was k in the back having an emotional breakdown waiting for them to announce taki is out. honestly, he’s still very young and has a lot of time for improvement. i will be keeping an eye out for his debut! and JAKE IS SEVENTH? even with x2 votes in last 24 hours? girls, we need to pull up and vote for him!
finally, i loved that they had the video compilation of fans’ messages and as well as the messages of the boys to each other. it really helped them bond even more and motivate them to work harder.
lol also seventeen was so cute and supportive!
so watch me bring the fire and set the night alight

iland ep. 8 thoughts - again, that no one asked for but i will still do
this episode, i finally saw how good heeseung is! hehe, is he reading my tumblr posts? but in a more serious note, i am liking heeseung now because he has finally shown how he can be a great performance leader. i liked how he really helped out taki especially because taki was really struggling as a leader since it’s clear that he doesn’t know how to be a leader yet. also, his performance with fake love was amazing! finally, a performance that really caught my eye and made me go “okay, i guess i get it now...”
as for taki, i already see some hate about him..guys, he’s literally 15...he’s still so young and has so much room for improvement. it was clear how distressed he was being given the leader role as he has never been given this position before. you can see how much it stressed him out to the point where he couldn’t even focus during their practice. i still do wish to see him debut even if it’s not with the iland group but maybe the next big hit boy group in 2022?
okay and k and niki?? k is definitely a competent leader as he knew immediately how to divide the parts between the boys depending on their strengths - definitely future dance leader? and when he spoke to niki in japanese about not doing any improvising? i liked that because it prevented niki from being embarrassed so the other boys wouldn’t understand.
and finally jake!! he was 7th! everyone was saying he was going to get eliminated but he is 5th in the global ranking right now. i am so glad he’s in the top 7 or else i would’ve personally gone to korea and rioted. AND WTH jay is 11th?? we cannot allow him to be eliminated! jay?? THE JAY? girls, we better get voting!
end of rant.
i’m sorry but like when did heeseung help the team/leader aside from the mess from episode 1?
as namjoon said, a leader is someone who will need to do what no one wants to do aka selflessness. from the previous episodes, heeseung just promoted independent work like practicing on your own, etc. Meanwhile, we’ve seen Jay and even Niki show leadership – they taught everyone even if they didn’t want to because they realize it’s what’s best for the team.
i just wish Jay got the leadership advice from BTS and i wish mnet and everyone else stop pushing the heeseung is the best agenda because i will say once again that if he was the best, then he should’ve debuted with txt. also, if we’re talking about the best, it should be jungwon who’s got the highest score.
Omyghad! Louder so everyone can finally hear the freakin’ truth!
Also, haven’t these “Heesung should be the leader” stans finally realize from the vids and iland cams the fact Daniel said in the earlier part of the program that Heesung tends to spend time with the capable trainees~ leaving the others behind, like how he practices more around with K. Also, after their perf of I&credible, the way he proceeded immediately to his room, alone...he even shut the door...is not leader like to me. He needs to overcome whatever it is that’s bothering him if he wants to be a leader this future group that is.
i have noticed that too that he only hangs out with the “good ones”. honestly, i really want to like heeseung, i am trying to see the good in him because i really love the final 12. i even felt bad when they showed his vcr about his feelings not debuting. but what i can’t accept is this agenda that’s being pushed to us that heeseung is the ace of the group and that he would be a great leader when there are others who are much more capable. in every test, he has not gotten the top score ever. the producers don’t really give him any phenomenal reviews - we’ve seen jungwon having the highest score most of the times, or K, or Taki, literally everyone but him. every episode there’s always a comment how heeseung is the ace or the best yet no one can pinpoint a time where he’s impressed anyone or stood out the most?
i also want to clarify from my post above that i know it was heeseung who asked the question. that made me go ??? since that really showed how he’s still going for the leadership role yet he’s never really shown any leadership? and BTS giving leadership advice to him already has established him as someone who could be the leader of the group and that’s what i was afraid of when he asked that question because the i-land boys value BTS’ opinions so much.
I feel like someone just went inside my head and read my thoughts
and just to add on, I don’t really understand the logic of just cause he’s the “best” he should be the leader. when have that ever happened in other kpop groups? a prime example is bts where namjoon is the leader but is he good at everything? no, he’s the leader because he’s there to support each member to be the best they can be for the group. just from observing heeseung on the show and the I-LAND cams, he does tend to go off on his own and I notice that he only interacts with the other trainees that are “good” like k. when has he come out of his way to personally help out other trainees who were struggling? also, I don’t like how in the preview for episode 8, it shows him with sunghoon asking him if he could still go back to figure skating which suggests failure from their unit for fake love already. as a leader, you should always try to empower your fellow members and not put the worst scenario in their mind. that’s on what? periodt.
