I had so much fun with this and I was so honoured to be paired with @sarpury. Their art really brought this story to life.

So excited to start the process of introducing a new product to my lineup~! I've been wanting to make plushies out of my little guys for a while, and I have decided to start with little Bunji !! I would love to get your input on what you would like to see from this project. Please fill out the interest check to help me make the final decisions on his design.
Superhero AU where SJ's supervillain suit is equipped with a full body TENS unit to combat his chronic pain. He never takes it off for obvious reasons, which makes MQF very cranky because he can never conduct a routine physical.
Enter YQY, whose superpower is disintegrating objects with his mind. MQF is also done with him, because he keeps getting electrocuted somehow? And he won't explain why or promise to avoid the cause?
Alas, YQ loses control of his powers just being near SJ, which neither SJ nor the electrodes in his suit appreciate 😔
Adding on to this, Shen Jiu's power is electricity, but he doesn't have the best control of it due to his upbringing.
As a child he was trafficked, and ended up the property of Qiu Enterprises - a prominent medical conglomerate with a dark underbelly. For years, he was kept in a cell and experimented on to see if superpowers could be developed in otherwise normal citizens.
During that time the Qiu's heir, QJL, used the experiments as an excuse to torture SJ. He would shock him with a cattle prod for the slightest offences, just to see him squirm - not knowing that one day his experimental subject would snap, electrocuting the entire research facility and setting it ablaze with a single burst of rage.
Even over a decade later, SQQ still has difficulty controlling his powers when he's aggravated - which is unfortunately often, considering the ineptitude of his coworkers.
To counter this, his suit is insulated to prevent him from shocking himself along with everyone around him every time he experiences an Emotion™️
It's been extremely helpful in warding off any episodes, to the point that not many even know what his superpower actually is. LQG literally thinks he's just their tech guy (SQQ would really like the idiot to stop dropping broken gadgets at his door, expecting them to get fixed. Maybe think before punching a hole in your comm, you utter moron??)
Despite his grousing, he is really good with computers. A-Yuan is their actual tech guy, though. He's just such a recluse no one ever sees him.

The Hugo Awards are one of the most prestigious awards in science fiction, and one of them is for "Best Fanzine." The rules are (emphasis added):
Best Fanzine. Any generally available non-professional periodical publication devoted to science fiction, fantasy, or related subjects that by the close of the previous calendar year has published four (4) or more issues (or the equivalent in other media), at least one (1) of which appeared in the previous calendar year, that does not qualify as a semiprozine or a fancast, and that in the previous calendar year met neither of the following criteria:
(1) paid its contributors or staff monetarily in other than copies of the publication,
(2) was generally available only for paid purchase.
(Note that "previous calendar year" means 2025, because this is referring to the 2026 Hugo Awards.)
Normally, Best Fanzine goes to a newsletter or blog, something that does reviews or fandom news articles. A fanfic zine has never been a finalist. This is because (among other reasons):
Very few fanfic-and-fanart zines have multiple issues anymore, and
There is a very strong anti-fanfic contingent among Hugo nominators and voters.
I want Spice! The MXTX Food Zine to get on the ballot this year. (I don't think we have a chance of winning, because there is a lot of anti-fanfic hostility.)

But we're eligible and I'd love to see us get on the ballot. https://www.wsfs.org/rules-of-the-world-science-fiction-society/ has the relevant rules; anyone who had a membership for LACon as of December 31 of last year, or who had a WSFS or attending membership at Seattle last year, can nominate for this year's Hugo Awards.

I’m also a witch, and I go to a magic school called Hogwarts in England where I’m in the seventh year (I’m seventeen). I’m a goth (in case you couldn’t tell) and I wear mostly black. I love Hot Topic and I buy all my clothes from there. For example today I was wearing a black corset with matching lace around it and a black leather miniskirt, pink fishnets and black combat boots. I was wearing black lipstick, white foundation, black eyeliner and red eye shadow. I was walking outside Hogwarts. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun, which I was very happy about. A lot of preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.
