I had the funniest back and forth under a jikook edit of their most recent live and tbh it just shows how people make no sense when they talk down on Jimin and Jk’s relationship.

It started with;

This comment I made under said edit. I think it speaks for itself but for context, the comment I was replying to was saying how people shouldn’t ship jikook because all the members act the same with one another. ( Which makes no sense… because if I say ‘minimoni size-difference’ supremacy, everyone cheers. But if I say ‘jikook married’ certain people get up in arms. Just admit y’all treat Jikook’s bond different!! Because it is different!!)

The main thing about people’s aversion to Jikook that I don’t understand, is the need to gaslight us. Namjoon posted Jimin on his story and everyone was saying “Jimin is Namjoon baby 😩” but when Jimin sucked Jk’s neck and gave him a HICKEY people will seriously deadpan say, “that’s completely platonic. I act like that with my friends. 😐” like… you don’t have to believe in some crazy complex theory to (at minimum) admit what we’re seeing in front of us is more than friendly behavior. 😦

At this point, I fully just assumed the person I was going back-and-forth with was just a taekooker in disguise trying to sound neutral but in reality, you can tell they just don’t like jikook. And you’ll see more in how they respond next,

This person’s final response is the end of this thread but it’s seriously insane to me how these people think. Tbh there are some shippers that take things too far, but at the end of the day majority of shippers geek over moments, read their fanfiction, and go on with life.

Idk I just thought I’d share bc it was so ridiculous to me. Anyway, I love Jungkook, I love JIMIN, I love them spending time together and being happy together and trusting each other to enlist together for 18months and traveling together and I love that Jimin makes Jk happy and Jk makes Jimin happy. :) That’s it! And it shouldn’t be illegal to say that.

Scared to go on Twitter and post my real opinion, so I came back to Tumblr. LMAO just watched the mv and here are my thoughts.  And before anyone tries me, there is nothing wrong with having honest opinions about your favorite artist. Not a solo, not an anti, just an army of eight years that loves the boys, but does not see them as gods who I can’t criticize

The Video; Cool concept, I think Jungkook comes off very natural in his solo debut. One thing I like about all of the boys is that they are all very comfortable performing solo. There are tons of other idols that are heavily reliant on their groups, and yet JK and all of them clearly have the capability to hold their own. The cinematography was cool. Love love loveee

The Song; not my favorite. I was really hoping for a concept/sound similar to My Time. Kind of R&B. But it sounds very… radio friendly I guess lol NO SHADE. I’ll just be real, it sounds very similar to a Charlie Puth vibe, which is frustrating for me because I wasn’t even a big fan of Left and Right. I do think with more listens I’ll warm up to the song (especially Latto‘s verse she ate fr) just wasn’t what I was expecting but that’s usual so far in Ch. 2. 

My Rating; I think, based off first watch/listen I would give it a 7.5 rating. May turn into an 8 or higher after a few more plays. I just don’t believe Bangtan makes bad music so even a song that’s not my favorite is still great! 

My Ranking; so far out of the 6/7 solo projects we’ve gotten, my preference is

I am, however, really excited to hear JK’s album when it’s released. I have no doubt that this song will be a hit! And after him we have my Capricorn brother Tae to look forward to 🥹🤭

It's wrong, it's colourism. We are also hurt because Taehyung experienced colourism first hand (when he had to apologize on tv that he had his natural skin colour showing because fans were mad at him) Why does it matter if they have white skin or tanned? As an african american yourself, I think you know first hand how it is like living in a place where there is a lot of racism and colourism that is been going on for like idk how long. It’s a long history. I think you should know yourself that it is a big problem. We, as in ARMY and actually logical thinking people, were kind of schocked and dissapointed to see that they openly express their preferences on skin color. [2/??]

Firstly, I’d like to say thank you for not only staying respectful, but for also taking the time to explain your opinion instead of just saying I’m wrong and dumb like how a few people in my ask box have stated. As a disclaimer, I’d like to firstly say that while I am aware that internalized racism, colorism, classism between races/skin tones are still very evident and real in today’s society internationally, in this isolated situation, I disagree with the idea that Namjoon, Tae, Yoongi, or Jin are wrong for expressing their preferences when asked in an interview. In the country of SK where skin-whitening makeup, tools, lotions are still seen as normal, where black face is still seen as comedy, where having pale skin is praised and is the exact country where Bangtan where born and raised, even in the year 2017, how could you expect them to have any “ideal look” for a girl. It’s almost to be assumed. And if you have a problem with this ideology, then you have an issue with Korean culture and the country of SK itself, not the boys. And this is not me trying to justify if they do actually have internalized colorism towards darker skin tones, but the fact that they can have a preference in general. 

The boys have shown in many other interviews, social media posts, song lyrics and etc how accepting they are of people from other cultures, people’s sexuality, nationality, race, and class to the point where this one interview will not change how I view them or how they view me.
