Activity here might be slow as of late, but there's still plenty going on behind the scenes. I just have a hard time committing to the final step that makes a neighborhood or individual build "presentable" - populating it with copy/pasted cars so it doesn't look deserted. It's an important but very tedious, time consuming process that I've really been dragging my feet on. 

So, here's a few screens of recent developments in the meantime!

Apparently this blog turned 5 years old recently - thank you all for 5 years of interest in my content! Here’s 5 shots of recent progress on the city of Fleetport.

Here’s some long overdue renders of Northport, Fleetport’s north-northwestern neighbor. Unfortunately it seems this resource pack’s torches cause some sort of rendering issue, hence the night scene coming out much darker than intended. Aside from that though I’d say these are quite satisfactory, the distant skyline looks rad.

Here’s another comparison shot, the older build only dates back to sometime in 2015 so the gulf in quality isn’t quite as wide. More pics of the newer build soon to come.

Presenting my largest build in the map thus far, the suburb of Northport’s Northdale Center Mall! Currently there’s no interior and no solid plans to add one anytime soon, but as far as the exterior goes it’s definitely the most realistic mall I’ve built to date.

Another ~6 year comparison - I have to admit, I’m actually pretty impressed by my progress.

To my absolute astonishment I was able to get a basic shaderpack working today, after +/- 4 years without them. Dunno what exactly's going on with the purple glass blocks, they're meant to be a fence texture but evidently Optifine thinks otherwise. Everything else looks pretty fab, though!

As promised, here’s some more screens of my latest projects - the Northdale Square plaza, and the adjacent Northport Ford car dealership. 

Building these took about a weekish in total, the dealership is noteworthy as it’s the first one I’ve ever built. I never got around to building out the area I wanted to put one in my old world.

~6 years of improvement - the original rendition of this build was finished sometime in April-May of 2013. More screens soon to come!

It’s Fleetport’s “first” school! And my first of what could fairly be considered medium/large scale builds in this world. Turned out pretty well, all things considered. 

Quick edit, the design for the school buses comes from this video by Yazur. Check it out if you want to build some in your own world!
