Going for neutral colours this time, I was especially happy painting for my crafter-in crime's baby boy, Elliot. The combination of blue and dragibus (fancy colour for the orange paint from 513 Paint Shop) steers from my usual pastel palettes.

Colour blocking with sage and yellow for baby Kyra – who has the funniest expressions and long model-like legs! Welcome to the world
Colour blocking fun for 2 sisters – Ruby and Jade, these young girls requested for these colours, hope they like it!
My lovely swan – Saffron turned 2 in May and this bright swan card was inspired by the Bjork swan dress her mama made for her party. Happy birthday K lui!
My beautiful flamingo – Valerie celebrated her 4th birthday in April, this was inspired by the costume her mama made for her party. Wish I could have been there!
Had no question what colour I had in mind for baby O – matched metallic gold with olive for the colour blocking. Hope it doesn't get knocked over too often!
This card was made for the lovely Olive, a new addition to Grace and Jack's family. Using a soft white polkadot on green paper, I complemented the onesie with yellow trimmings and a yellow-painted chipboard 'O' for Olive. The scalloped circle was made with lime PU leather and white embossed border dots. Welcome to the world, Olive!
To celebrate the 100-day celebration of my baby niece, I had been preparing to gift her some gorgeously illustrated Rifle Paper Co. classics. To go with that I painted and embellished this set of Kaisercraft bird bookends which matched really well as I used a Rifle Paper Co. wrapping paper for the backdrop.
I love the colour 'spearmint' from Kaisercraft's acrylic paint selection and painted the birdies with that. The wings were paired with PU leather matching the apricot colour in the backdrop and peach polkadot flooring paper.
A gift for a cute pair of sisters all the way in Aussie!
Colour blocking aided with washi tape – acrylic Kaisercraft paints for 'spearmint' and 'blossom' as well as Martha Stewart's metallic gold.
Excited to finally make use of the cork sheets I brought back from Tokyo last year. The heart-shaped cut cork sheet was the focal point of the card and I found that heat embossing the 'happy birthday' sentiment on that was surprisingly easy. The starry elements came together with a combination of diecut stars and metallic star pins from Zakka Farm that I painted in gold.
Farewell, adieu, au revoir my Chicks buddy! It was sad to see you go! This striped card has a pastel feel, layered with the mock-polaroid lifted illustration citing my sentiments "let the fun begin". I also used vellum as a buffer on the background paper so the thickers would stand out. Raquel (as I call her) is off to new beginnings and I hope to catch up with you every now and then.
We threw a surprise baby shower for mum-to be Denise (thanks to all the work by Kiran and Navy) and for this special occasion I made a larger version of my onesie card at 20cm tall to allow enough room for our messages. The combination of a colourful tartan print with pink cuffs were polished off with robin blue buttons. Congrats Denise!
Welcoming baby Travis' arrival, this camo-themed print for the onesie card was chosen to match the style this baby has! The lime embossing powder "stitching" contrasted against the camo print.
For the recently turned 2-year old Kalie, a banner announcing her birthday in glittery red thickers set the tone of the colourful party theme of the card. The backdrop of butterflies were adorned with a few fluttering ones. Hope you had a wonderful celebration Kalie!
Made this onesie a little while back for a baby girl – I like how the floral pattern and complementary hues of olive and pastel blue worked with the cream cuffs of the onesie.
As a wedding present to my BFF Emily and her husband, Steven, I embellished the wooden LOVE with a blue background paper with flower print. The pearls and flowers in dusty pink and yellow added layers to frame the couple's photo taken at the beach. Congrats Emily and Steven!
Love the bright fuchsia and blue in this card, tied the card with a pink shoelace I got from a Nike event! Happy birthday (soon) Valerie! *muah* *muah*
For Valerie's birthday, I made this animal envelope (does it look like a dog or a cat?!) for this special 3-year old
Happy birthday to Adrian! Inspired by Mer Mag's DIY post, I made this doggy envelope for the birthday boy and can see this working for all my kiddy cards! I wanted to work with a blue/yellow/orange palette for this 2-year old and stray from usual pastels – must say I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. As I included a car-themed gift, the wooden train embellishment seemed like a nice touch!
