Just learned from my daughter that my hygiene is so poor that I ruin anything that I sit on :(
November 28, 2017.
Fished on Arthur today with David. We landed 24 stripers and doubled up 6x. Probably the highest quality fish of any trip ever with Dave landing one that probably pushed 14 lbs. All of the fish were in pods in the Jitter’s Tree area of the lake. The shad were laying on the bottom and the stripes were always located with the shad. I thought that we were going to jig for walleyes but saw the “Big Run Ghetto Shiners” and said to myself that it might turn out to be a good day after all. There was only one other boat on the lake and when he saw that we were striper fishing, he promptly left. He did however, swing his red Lund right around when he saw one of our doubles. The guy motors to about 20 yards away, stops, and say’s “Don’t mind me. I just want to watch.” Other than that, there wasn’t a single witness. We heard half of a dozen different hunters shoot throughout the day. It seems that all of the knuckle draggers are in the woods.
There was still an awkwardness to the whole trip after the conversation that Dave and I had the night before. He doesn’t want me to stop fishing the Bear Run end of the lake. Say’s that it won’t be as much fun with me not around. But I still know that he was ticked when he saw Kyra and me reefing all of those big slabs in last Friday. The fact is, he cooled off once he got away from Wheels’ running his mouth. (He texted me today asking for a pic of the pig that Dave hauled in yesterday). Eat a dick Wheels. I deleted your number. Please delete mine. It’s not your lake and, if it belonged to either of us, I’m the one with the lake in his backyard.
But anyway...... I’m still planning on concentrating on the Muddy Creek finger next spring. The finger only drops to about 20 feet but I’m still thinking that I’ll be able to find some fall spots. There’s no way that those crappie swim all the way from Muddy Creek to the dam like some giant migration! Besides, if I can find my own good spots, I’ll be that much more accomplished on Arthur and I don’t have to hear things like “one trick pony” from Jason. I’m just not really stoked about launching over on the 528 end. I’m thinking that all of the launches are really steep and I’m sans emergency brake on the truck. Oh well; suck it up and get used to it! Freakin’ Nancy!
