hows life going?
“Could be better, my man. Being here obviously isn’t the greatest, but I’m trying to make the best of it.”
rolandtucker:
“Of course I’d l-let you! Fun f-for all!”
“Sounds good, little dude. I’d definitely be down to help.”
rolandtucker:
Roland kept the hug going a bit longer before pulling away and continuing his eager walk to the garden. “Yes! We c-can go together!”
Aaron followed after, running a hand through his hair and humming. “Oh yeah? You’d let me join in, huh? Sounds like fun.”
rolandtucker:
Roland stopped and smiled at Aaron before quickly giving him an d huge and wrapping his arms around him. “That sounds like s-so much fun!” He squealed, resting his head against his chest and hugging him happily. “Y-yes!″
Aaron chuckled, returning the hug and holding Roland close, reaching up and patting his back gently. “Wanna talk to some staff members about it later, then? I bet they’d be down for it - less work for them to have to do.”
lita-mayes:
“I’m here! I’m here!” Lita muttered aloud, making her way down the cold, bright corridor to her office where she could already see someone outside her door. “Hey, so sorry. Traffic was horrible this morning.” The brunette lied, hoping her greasy hair and bloodshot eyes wouldn’t give away the truth.
Looking up from the magazine he’d been occupying himself with, Aaron couldn’t help but be drawn to the bloodshot eyes that were coming his way. “You hungover or something?” He asked with a grin, closing the magazine and tossing it aside into one of the chairs that lined the wall. “Or is that pure tiredness?”
rolandtucker:
“It m-makes the garden l-look empty, but I l-like the w-way they make my r-room smell nice.” Roland really just liked having a touch of the outside with him to keep him from going insane.
“They could always plant more,” Aaron shrugged. “I mean, hell, that could be like a group project. Maybe you should tell them that - volunteer to plant stuff if they’ll bring it in for you, huh?”
rolandtucker:
Roland squeezed his hand and lead him as fast as he good with his cane in the other hand. “N-not allowed, but sometimes I d-do it anyway.”
“Huh,” Aaron nodded, slowing his pace a bit so that he didn’t walk too fast and end up dragging Roland behind him. “Sounds like a pretty shitty rule. If we’re stuck here the least they can do is let us pick flowers.”
rolandtucker:
Rolan put his hand out to take Aaron’s. “Yes!” He was happy to find someone who was just an enthusiastic about going outside. “Outside!”
Aaron grinned, taking Roland’s hand and allowing him to lead the way. He wasn’t necessarily excited to go outside and didn’t feel a real need to, but he figured that if it would make the other happy then he’d go along with it. “We allowed to pick flowers and shit or would they get mad about that?”
rolandtucker:
“Yes.” Roland giggled. “It is. You can trust me.” Which was true - if he could be anywhere it would always be out there or in the art room.
“I trust you,” Aaron laughed, nodding. “We should go out there, huh? I need some sun, anyway.”
rolandtucker:
“Y-yeah…” Roland shrugged. He wasn’t going to argue about it, especially because he never went down there. There was nothing there for him. “Th-there’s flowers and s-stuff. and the s-sun feels nice especially w-when inside a-alot.”
“You gonna give me a tour of the garden, then?” He asked, tilting his head to the side and smiling softly. “I mean, I’d love to see it. You make it sound pretty nice out there.”
rolandtucker:
“N-no staff member goes down there. It’s s-secret.” Roland didn’t even go there himself - it was too dark and scary and he thought it smelt weird. “I g-guess if you drink you c-can go down there. N-no one r-really gets caught u-unless not sneaky.” Rolan shrugged. “I l-like the g-garden the best.”
“I hate to break it to ya, kid, but I’d think that employees here know that there’s a basement and they probably have to check on it every now and then. Maybe someone’s just good at hiding whatever shit they keep down there,” Aaron shrugged - it just seemed more realistic to him that the staff would at least know, even if they didn’t get involved. “I haven’t seen the garden yet. I’m sure it’s nice.”
Your fav people as color of the rainbow?
“Chris would be blue because that’s his general mood, for as long as I’ve known him. He doesn’t have much of a good time too often, and if it seems like he is then it’s because he’s faking his way through it, ya’know? I mean, I know him well enough to know just how well blue reflects his mood and life. Birdie would be pink because she’s very soft and very feminine, and I like that about her. She’s delicate, and pink fits her perfectly. Miles is green because, uh - I don’t really know why, I just feel like he’d be green for some reason. And Roland would be yellow because that’s really zen and chill.”
The best moments in your life? And the worst?
“The best was my wedding - we were alone, we eloped in Vegas and then took off to do our own thing. Chris was almost a missing person for a hot minute there, but he reached out and told his folks that he was okay. That’s a pretty fond memory of mine, listening to them flip out on the phone and he’s just sitting there trying not to laugh at them. That first week of us being married is easily the best moment of my life. The worst, I guess, would be when my sister had a car accident a couple’a years ago. She got hit by a drunk driver and was lucky enough to walk away with a broken arm and nothing more serious.”
Describe your childhood?
“It was a little rough, but my mom raised us the best that she could. Me and my sister were pretty chill, though - we hung out and rode bikes together in the neighborhood, I took her to her friend’s houses and all that shit that older brothers are supposed to do. Uh - I got my first job when I was fourteen because ma needed help paying the bills and all that, so that was where my childhood stopped, ya’know? I’ve been working ever since because I wanted to give her and my sister good lives so they wouldn’t have to worry anymore.”
rolandtucker:
“I’ve n-never got in trouble for g-getting lost. N-not in a long time. M-maybe you could end up in the b-basement but no one would get mad f-for it because th-they wouldn’t kn-know.”
“Unless they happened to walk down there too and catch you,” Aaron pointed out, shrugging. “I mean, even if it’s unlikely, it’s still a possibility, y’know?”
