hey everyone ! i’m cal, suffering over here in the gmt timezone with a terrible cold as i write this up. i use they/them pronouns, just us a lil heads up, and i’ll be playing henrik, who’s ? a shit for someone who should be mature and put together. i’ve got some points about him below, & if you want to plot ur more than welcome to shoot me a message !
trigger warnings for murder. mentions of drugs, alcohol, general hedonist lifestyle.
when henrik was turned, it was a pretty sorry state of affairs. he, out of perhaps all of his siblings, was one of those who dealt with the bloodlust very badly. he kind of lost it, and by kind of i mean completely, and ended up slaughtering his first love, with this event having a gigantic knock on effect to the rest of his life. before he was turned, he was a very charismatic, leader-esque type young man whom people admired, afterwards? not so much.
henrik dealt with his issues and emotions the only way he knew how, bottling them up. for many years afterwards, he retreated into a shell, becoming something of a mute and only speaking selectively when it came to matters of life and death. this lasted for about a century, which is roughly how long it took for henrik to get a grip on his bloodlust. usually vampires were able to control themselves after a year, for him however life was not so easy.
after sorting his damn life out, henrik decided he was sick of moping around all the time, not taking advantage of the gifts god had bestowed upon him ( he kind of, used god as a coping mechanism rather than admit his own mother did this to him, and it messed him up a little ). he left the family for quite some time, roughly three centuries, in order to live his life. henrik didn’t appreciate the small constraints that were thrust upon him, no matter how small they may have been, and wanted to make a name for himself out in the world.
spent the 300 years being a ridiculous hedonist, for lack of a better term. sex, alcohol, the newly discovered drugs, maybe even some rock n’ roll in a classical form, henrik truly tested the limits of his immortality. he experimented in some things that can only be described as twisted, and famously left a brothel full of dead bodies, blood and not much else. he had developed extreme issues with intimacy, and associated the act with death, considering what happened to his first love.
returned to his family a different man. henrik, out of everyone, is perhaps the most laidback. not easily aggravated and not easily disturbed, henrik is an open book when it comes to others, doing something few of his siblings do when it comes to strangers: letting his guard down. he’s happy to admit his identity, even happier to admit his species, and finds secrets awfully boring and dull.
however as much as he likes to give the illusion that he’s an incredibly balanced and stable individual, he isn’t. people tend to trust henrik because of how he is, how unbothered he is by people’s words, how little he cares when coming across someone who isn’t of his kind, how he’d rather crack a few crude jokes and a devilish smile that rip out your jugular... but it isn’t true. the man does what he does to get what he wants, and that’s sort of his only motivation: himself.
he’s kind of obsessed with the fact he’s immortal ? ? it’s like a, hey i wonder what i can do today to see if i’ll die, kind of thing.
loves watching humans get drunk, socialise, etc. finds them adorably fascinating, despite the fact he’s killed a tonne of them. finds wolves and other species equally intriguing, wolves especially so since he hasn’t been able to kill as many of them. often doesn’t hurt those he develops these odd fascinations for, instead keeping them alive in hopes of witnessing their limits.
basically he’s a jackass, don’t trust him.
