     “Oh, Jeanne... ~” Dominique called out, singing with a light tune as she strutted down the road. Of course the other woman was nowhere in sight when she did, instead the brunette entertaining herself as she searched. Her lovely little automaton followed her suit ( because she was pulling it along ), occasionally sprouting flower petals behind her. People stared at her and even gasped when it rained roses, the vampire enjoying the small attention she got for being her extravagant self.

Only when she passed by what she presumed to be a local café did she stop in her tracks, glancing inside to spot the person she had been looking for. Jeanne was sitting alone at a table, happily munching on a crepe inside with a cup of tea. Shaking her head in disbelief, Dominique waltzed inside and called out for her.

“Jeanne, mon cheri! There you are! Having yourself an afternoon snack, are you?”

    ‘Hmm, where was she? The poor lost lamb.’

Shifting her head from side to side to scan her surroundings, Dominique was quite curious as to where Jeanne could be. Knowing her, she was either looking for Luca frantically, or wandering around the city looking for something sweet to eat. It was possible she was doing both. With a small sigh, the woman shook her head and looked up at the sky, only to spot a long ponytail waving behind the figure of a man. He had a big plate of food with him, and a chain dangling from his side. Was that... the human she had met, who accompanied Noé?

“Vanitas?”

With immense curiosity, the vampire decided to head up, landing gracefully behind the man. Tapping his shoulder, she leaned over and tilted her head with a smile.

“Bonjour, docteur. I wasn’t expecting you to be in today.”

     devastated. absolutely devastated. how could this have happened?!

she had simply been strolling down the sidewalk, admiring the scenery of her new neighborhood that quite closely resembled paris in the human world. sometimes she thought that maybe they were still there, but the lack of a unified, french language always helped bring her back to her senses. strangely she could read everything written, though she didn’t know how. while reading a sign, however, her fellow automaton had been rewired, shooting out the fresh roses she had filled it with into the sky and all over the road.

“non, non! what is this? who did this to my petit ami?!”

     dominique’s first few nights at koi were quite something. she had seen many a strange people, of different hairstyles, outfits, and motives. this was the most variety she had seen since first visiting paris in the human world. although all the commotion and business of the day excited her, another side of her also starved to explore the night life. according to the people who had directed her to her new living quarters, her neighborhood in particular was the life of the party.

thank goodness, she thought, taking note of the small map in her hand as she opened the door to a local bar. after waving her hello’s to everyone that would look her way, the vampire sat down at the counter, a smile still on her face.

“the sweetest cocktail you have, please.”

next to her, she noticed a man with an interesting sense of fashion, along with a book that was carefully placed to avoid any potential spilling of his drink.

“what are you doing at a bar with a book on you, monsier?”

it’s the first words that came to mind when she saw the other woman’s attire, appreciating the clean white of her dress and the violet hue and delicate pattern of roses on her tights. dominique placed a hand on her cheek, tilting her head in admiration for the lovely design that seemed to fit her own personal style.
