it hurts — the weight & the awaiting of what's inevitable — death. aurora accepts it, though with her mission unfulfilled & her heart broken. she failed — her team, her family & the people she sworn to protect. would anyone even notice if i disappeared?
and then, something unexpected happens.
eyes snap open, scared ; pupils dilate, & aurora manages to catch a breath when gloved hand pulls away. she thought about biting it, but through the armor, she wouldn't do much, would she? now she thinks about her knife — reaching for it impossible when trapped like an animal.
“w- what?” she utters, whispers, not believing a word the masked man says. through the veil, she tries to discern his features ; does she know him, or is he truly a stranger? then, she notices the kortac patch on könig's uniform, and although still wary & unsure, her tense muscles relax just a bit. voice shaky, there's a sob that she swallows with much effort. “you're heavy.. i can't breathe...”
@cvvany, könig, from here.
