Official Caption: "1st/Sgt John Born and Pfc. Ralph Miller, both of Coal City, IL meet for the first time in two years near Verdun, France. " Born served in the 28th Infantry Division, 109th Infantry. Both men survived the war, passing on in 2010 and 1993. This photo was taken by Malan J. Heslop and is stored in the BYU Harold B. The BIC Boy, created by French graphic designer Raymond Savignac, was introduced in 1961 and is still used today. The image is of a school boy, his head replaced by the tungsten carbide ball of the ball point pen. BIC now makes everything from razors to lighters, but the BIC boy is still there

A patch depicting "Dashing Dan" the logo of the #LIRR which first debuted in 1956. Dashing Dan was painted on locomotives, equipment and promotional items. He was complimented by a weekend version of himself in more casual attire and in 1962 he was joined by "Dashing Dottie" his female companion. The logo began to be phased out in 1966
