LORELAI.

    “ don’t babe me . ” she mocks him . but continues to back away as he moves in closer .“ yeah i know . but we weren’t the only people during practice . what makes you think i should let you touch me after that ? ” she shakes her head . “ yes you are . you’re doing that thingwhere you trying to make me think you’re not doing a thing . ”

   there’s a stalking hint in his step, amusement flickering across his features as he continues to close the distance between them. “ i wasn’t as bad as you’re making me seem, miss lorelai. ” he shoots her a knowing look.  “  me ? what am i doing ? ”

MINA.

  mina was obviously into this movie – especially since it was her first time seeing it . “ y’know what … ” she clicks her tongue and shakes her head  . “ it’s fine . it’s not like i wanted the suspense of it all anyways . ”

    “ wait-- you were serious when you said you’ve never seen the lion king before ? ” he asks, his lips parting in complete shock.  “  your childhood must’ve been boring as hell, ” he chuckles before dropping a kiss on her shoulder.  “ we could finish watching it-- i could be lying. ” even though he basically gave the entire plot away, he still wanted her to have the experience of watching it.

ADRIAN.

     “ there’s a conspiracy going on somewhere around here , definitely . ”  he replied dryly , turning away from her as quickly as possible .  the thing with penelope was — he couldn’t let his eyes linger on any feature of hers for too long without it becoming painfully obvious howterribly wrapped around her finger he was .  she said jump , he said ; how high .  and as much as they hated to admit it , they did work absurdly well together . “ so from what i saw , we’re looking into deals going down in the ‘burbs .  they think there’s a ring . ”

      a defeated sigh rolls past her lips as she nods in agreement.  “ whatever, ” she mutters, making a mental note to speak to voight in regards to the oddly ironic cases that were being assigned to them.  “ at least we’re in it together, right ? ”  she was just grateful that adrian was her partner. with the amount of assignments they’ve completed together, she’d grown rather fond of him-- not that she’d ever stroke his ego by telling him. penelope pulls a lock of strawberry-blonde hair behind her ear, grabbing the hot cup of coffee that was sitting on her desk and bringing it to her mouth. “ i saw, ” she says, taking a sip of the drink before speaking up again, “ do you know if there are there any leads ? ”

      he tried holding off on this as long as he could . but he was running out of time to do laundry and clean clothes to wear . he didn’t see a point in spending to buy new clothes , so he had to face the music . he knocks on her door and waits , eyes locked on the ground as his heart began to pound against his chest . eventually he hears the door begin to unlock , his attention immediately directed onto her .  “ i’m uhh – ” he knew this was going to be difficult , but he didn’t think it’d be like this . “ just here to pick up the rest of my things … ”

      she’d been pacing around her apartment ever since jae texted her about picking up his belongings, which she had sorted out and stored into a box. days which had turned into weeks, had turned into months. he was once her best friend -- she couldn’t believe how long it’s been since she last spoke to him. she jumps at the sound of a knock against her door, knowing it was him. making her way to the door, hayat unlocks it before pulling it open. her breath hitches in her throat at the sight of his familiar face, “ um, would you like to... come in ? ” she asks, although it was risky idea.

      sat atop the chair in her doctor’s office , jules waited to be seen , feet swinging back and forth over the edge in a very childlike manner . she hummed quietly to herself , looking at the various tools around the room as she waited , totally distracting herself from the impending doom of shots and her check up to come .  as the door opened , she twisted slightly , a smile quickly falling into a look of —   SHOCK  .  “ o— oh . ” her voice cracked , eyes wide . her heart had sunken into her stomach .  “ i — what are you doing here ? ”

  considering he was just an scribe, there was only so much he could do when there was a patient. grabbing the file given to him, his brows knit together as he wonders why the name sounds so familiar. benjy grazes his knuckles against the door before pushing it open. “ hello, i’m  -- ” the words die in his throat at the sight of the girl sitting before him, “ oh hey, ” he greets lamely, eyes flickering towards the name written on the file -- julia yoon -- before meeting hers. ah, shit. “ this is my dad’s clinic. i’m a scribe, ” he explains.

      sitting in the conference room of his agent’s office , matt tapped anxiously at the desk .  he’d been in there — maybe — ten minutes , but it was beginning to feel like hours .  “ psst … hey … ”  he whispered , though they were the only two people in the room .  “ PSSSSST … hayat … hey , how long do you think this is gonna take ? ”

      the brunette had been engrossed in texting cole when the male begins to whisper something, brows furrowing slightly as she wonders whether he was speaking to her. when she hears her name, she lifts her gaze to meet his with curiosity.  “ why are you whispering ? ” she asks, albeit her own voice comes out in a whisper as well. “ honestly, i’ve been wondering the same thing-- i hope its nothing serious, ” before she could say anything else, the door flew open with their respective agents walking in together.

       “ personally ,  i like the ‘ through the decades ’ theme . ”  lennon commented , two design proofs held in opposite hands .  she eyed both of them critically ,  “ but i feel like ‘ memories ’  might go over better with the general public . ”  her gaze lifted a bit , looking at the boy sitting across from her .  “  BRAY  , are you even listening ? ”

     he should be listening intently but he couldn’t have cared less about what the theme would be.  “ of course i was listening ! ” when she calls out his name, he realizes his expression may have given it away. “ uhhh, ” he drawls out lamely, as if he was giving it proper thought. “ lets go with that one, ” he declares with a definitive nod.

LORELAI.

   due to her natural reactions from practice , she flinched and inched away from ajax . “ stop that ! ” her tone high pitched . “ you’re such a bully . ”

   he couldn’t help but let a laugh slip past his lips when she jumps back from his touch.  “ babe, ” he begins with quirked brows, taking another step closer towards her.  “ we are the only people here right now. how could i possibly be a bully when i'm not even doing anything to you. ”

COLE.

     he bit the inside of his cheek , leaning a bit closer to her — though the looming fear of being    TOO OBVIOUS   was ever present .  while his body language was turned entirely towards hayat , focused on her as if she were the only person on the entire carpet ,  he couldn’t help but feel the eyes boring into him like lasers .  it was getting far too hard to appeal the masses .  “ honestly ? anything . ”  he sighed , wanting to escape right then and there .  “ in n out , taco bell , the beach , anything . ” eyes scanned the crowd , landing on rosalina in the distance ( internal curse words running a mile a minute ) .  “ as long as it’s us , and no one else , it doesn’t really matter to me . ” smooth .

       hayat pretends to fix her gown, purposefully breaking her gaze away from him to do so. the cameras were flashing all over and she was POSITIVE if she kept staring at him like a love-struck idiot, they were bound to get caught. and she couldn’t afford to do that, not with what her management was planning on doing. a smile tugs at the ends of her lips over his words, shooting him a brief look with a subtle roll of her eyes. “ we obviously wouldn’t be able to leave together, ” she mutters, pulling a stray strand of hair behind her ear as she lets her eyes wander towards the crowd. “ maybe the beach ? by the time we get there, it’ll probably be late and usually not many people. ”

ADRIAN.

     he bit his tongue ,  avoiding saying  ANYTHING  too soon after reading over the file .   really?  was this a joke ?  a prank ?  he turned to face her , placing the file on her desk in a matter of seconds .  “ well , mrs . newberry , you tell me . ”  he said snidely .  voight was definitely going to have to hear about this one later .

      her brows furrow slightly when he doesn’t say anything, gaze flickering to the file that is dropped in front of her. “ you’re kidding ! ” her mouth falls open in shock, flipping it open almost instantly. it takes her a few moments to read it over, before looking up at adrian with a subtle frown. “ do you think he’s doing this on purpose ? first, we were dating. then, we were engaged. and now, we’re married ? ” the words are slipping past her lips in hushed tones.

       adrian grimaced as the file hit his desk . within seconds it was in hand , him scanning the pages quickly .  suddenly , a groan erupted from him . “ undercover … voight , again ? ”  he eyed his boss , who was making way into his office with a half - assed grin . “ this is what i’ve amounted to .  undercover assignment , fourth time in a row . ”

       she feigns a scrutinizing glance in her boss’ direction, wondering if he was giving them these types of cases on purpose. with an inward sigh, her eyes flicker over to her partner who was seated at his desk in front of her. “ so, what is it this time ? i’m still reeling in from our last undercover, ” the distaste was clear in her tone, her expression twisting to mirror it.
