Ramirez had noticed the youth in thought, and decided to keep to himself, simply admiring the girl in training. However, when she began to get frustrated, he decided to offer his assistance.
"Excuse me, Young Lady?" He said. "You seem to be training. If I may offer some advice…?"
He gently took the polearm from her and assumed a stance. “Your stance is fine, but you’re thinking too much about your technique.”
"The key to using a long-handed weapon like this is to let it’s momentum carry the attack- short thrusts don’t change that."
He made a short step forward and thrust forward, allowing the momentum of his step to carry into the pole.
"And if your opponent dodges this you can always…"
He gripped the pole from the middle and swung upwards “Use its weight to your advantage.”
He handed the pole back to Angie. “Hope I helped.”
Ramirez, not wanting to be a bother, turned to leave…
Angie was almost paralayzed when Ramirez spoke up, wide-eyed gaze shooting over at him. He…he saw the whole bloody thing. She was just about to shrink away into nothingness in embarrassment until he lifted the steel. Then, she watched his advice with no small trace of bewilderment, quietly nodding until the end.
"Oh, um…thank you!" She responded, tucking the honing steel back in its package. "I-I haven’t seen you around here, have I?" She may not think it if she had met him at some other time of the day, but there was this nagging thought in the back of her mind that he was important, for some reason…and that wasn’t brought on by his curious choice of wardrobe.
"If you want me to be honest...? I have no idea where I am!" Ramirez said cheerfully, laughing to himself.
"My name is Ramirez. I'm...well, I at least know I was travelling for quite some time before I found myself here. You intrigued me, Young Lady. You remind me of a few of my friends back home."
Ramirez faltered. "Where are my manners? I haven't even asked your name!"
