Black Christmas 2019 was so disappointing. It had NONE of the charm and horror of the original. One of the most horrific things about the og movie is, of course, Billy.
There doesn't seem to be any method to his madness and the closet thing we get to a backstory for him are the obscene and vile phone calls we hear throughout the movie. We can piece together a story about Billy's parents yelling at him for something he did to a baby named Agnes. Agnes was most likely his sister, and with a line like “Agnes, it’s me, Billy. Don’t you tell anyone what we did,” I think it's pretty obvious what went down. But that's only if anything Billy is saying is true
So he's tormenting and mocking these girls throughout the movie- at one point even begging them for help- all while they search for their missing friend. The thing is that she's already dead and has been hidden in the attic the entire time, the final shot of the movie being the camera panning away from her plastic covered face, out through the window and into the yard, revealing that her body was just barely visable from the road. Billy is still alive, nobody even knows that Mrs. Mac is dead, and everyone is left shook as a phone rings and the credits roll.
So, who was the killer? What did he want? Why did he do this? Will he be found and stopped or will he kill again?
Now compare that to a frat house cult with black goo brainwashing college boys because sexism
Villains can make or break a story, and my God, Black Christmas 2019 was broken
