Young Royals, Omar and me

I’m a mixed who grew up in an area where few people have roots in overseas. I was inspired by Omar who values both his Venezuelan roots and the Swedish culture he grew up with, blending and sublimating them into a great piece of art. After seeing Omar's work, I began to learn more about my foreign roots.

I went abroad alone for the first time (besides my father’s homeland) for Omar’s concert. The concert was fantastic. He inspired me more as he cherished all his Latin roots, boy band career and Young Royals. I think he can be proud of his past because he's worked every moment to the best of his ability. And he is always taking on new challenges. It makes me want to do more for my dream.

Every single moment of My trip to Stockholm for his concert was wonderful. Stockholm has a lot of people with different ethnicities and everyone I met was very kind. I had some bad experiences in my hometown because of my roots, but never in Stockholm. When I saw a gay couple and their twin children eating together happily, I realised for the first time that I wanted to have a family with my gf. My country, like Sweden, has a monarchy and a class society. But no one criticises it head-on like the creators of YR. I want to do more in my own country to achieve a same-sex marriage system and end class society, like the courageous people in Sweden.

Young Royals and Omar, thank you so much for giving me this amazing journey and dream.

I got a ticket for the Omar's concert in next February!!!

I'm going to Sweden from Japan for the first time in my life. Also it’s my first solo trip to foreign country ( except my father’s home country) & first time to going to Europe. I’m so excited!! I’m also thinking of going to Norway too(cuz I love skam).

Hope Omar knows he has many fans in Japan too.
