[ Silence. It came first, sudden and exceptionally loud, for every tool in the lab stopped working and every sound died in an instant. Then it came darkness. Electricity stopped running in all the facility and even the emergency lights didnāt work. Sisselās face disappeared from the screen.
A silvery giggle is what followed, a voice that the ghost cat was probably used to. Selunaās voice, the voice of a singer, of a wolf who howls for the Moon. A note of childish happiness resounded in it and it clashed with the sense of dread that invaded the place, like demonic miasma that poisons the soul.
Glowing red eyes pierced through the darkness as a shadow approached, merging with the black that surrounded them. Eyes of a predator, of a monster straight out of a nightmare. ]
āHello darlings~ā [ She spoke in plural, very aware that Vector was not the only person in the lab. Just like she wasnāt the only intruder. ] āThe Liash insisted I came here for a visit as fast as possible and I didnāt have time to warn anybody. Do forgive me.ā
Usually Vector was glad for the inbuilt dark vision his visors gave him, but this was one of those rare moments where he thought maybe he might have been better off without it. The blue glow clashed with the red that was eyeing him with no small amount of ill will.
Where were his guards? Incapacitated...and locked out. This couldnāt be happening, the company building should have been prepared for anything. Unless..
Oh no.
The Terran shot off his chair, abandoning the tools he had held. None of them would be of any use to him if he suspected who this was. Then again, the minute the voice had even MENTIONED the Liash, he knew was in trouble.
Vector felt his heart pounding inside his chest even as his implant tried to calm it. But he had to face the facts. He was trapped. But hell if he was going to show this intruder any fear.
āIām afraid that usually people see me by appointment.ā He kept his tone even and casual, with just a the slightest edge.
