GHOST RIDER, 2007
Reblog the 500,000 dollar written check from Seto Kaiba and money will come your way.
Might as well.
nothing to lose.
Harry Potter is trending at #1 on tumblr so I thought I’d take the opportunity to say fuck JKR, fuck transphobes, fuck her stupid books, her theme park, her endless landfill fodder merch slop, and her fucking castle on a hill. Read another book yall!! Read another book!!!!!!!
What I've Been Listening To- August/September
Had a month of ups and downs. Got to see a few killer shows (Bruce Dickinson, Alice Cooper, Judas Priest) and I'm about to miss on a few I really want to catch (Blackbraid, Castle Rat, Vader). But I always have room for music in playlists and what not.
Acid Bath! They keep announcing more and more shows, but not close enough to me unless I can go back to NOLA. I'm glad that I can at least buy their albums at reasonable prices at this point, though.
At the Gates! Tompa forever.
Deafheaven! Still probably my album of the year, the band nearly lost me but won me back in a big way.
Type O Negative! It's fall- even if it doesn't feel like it here yet- which means it's Type O season. Pete forever.
Neil Young! And this month in "I swear I listen to more than just metal, guys", been going back to one of the GOATs. Really can't go wrong with any of his 70s run.
im going to ask perhaps a blasphemous question but does anybody else here not really gaf about halloween
halloween is my reason for living every year
i get really into the spirit just around october
i have fun with it but im not crazy for it or anything
its Ok
i dont particularly care for it but have no strong feelings
i get sick of the halloween craze really fast when october hits
i hate halloween

What I've Been Listening To: July/August
This is very late, sorry y'all. But I actually went on a little vacation and haven't had much time to write. I promise the next one will be up sooner.
Agalloch! One of these days, I will see these guys live and my life will be changed. We need Mass Destruction Fest to return to the ATL...
The Crown! These guys are really consistent in terms of Swedish melodeath, even though they often get left out of the conversation. Unfair, as they deserve.
Dead Can Dance! Never a bad time for these guys, I love most of their material.
Wayfarer! American Gothic is still that LP, I can't get enough of it. Already anxiously awaiting a follow up.
What I've Been Listening To- May/June/July
So I wasn't in a good place this summer, which is why I skipped June and am posting late for July. Also, RIP Ozzy which should go without saying.
Gruesome! Somehow they've put out three albums (+ other bits) of Death worship and it hasn't gotten stale yet. In fact, this may be their best release to date? Definitely worth spinning if you still worship at the altar of Chuck.
Paradise Lost! Preparing for the new album by listening to their past material, including their most recent releases. They've been on a roll for years and I hope they keep it up!
Triptykon! Really hoping we get a new album or even EP soon, I still listen to both of their LPs almost as regularly as I go back to Celtic Frost.
What I've Been Listening To- April/May
Cradle of Filth! Not really my band, but their new album won me over and it caused me to go back to some of their other stuff and... chat, they're not bad, Who knew?
Helmet! Always in the mood for 90s rock, these guys did it better than many. I saw them open for Clutch a couple of years ago and it was a good time.
Pelican! I love all of their stuff, but this new album is incredible. Worth the wait, hope to see them at some point.
SpiritWorld! I know some people don't love their newest release, but I think it's pretty good. Their mix of death metal, hardcore and country still hit, the novelty hasn't wore thin IMO. Bummed that I couldn't afford to see them with Obituary and Nails.

What I've Been Listening To- April/May
Not much, not a good month and I haven't had much time for music, just some favorites like Dead Kennedys and recent-ish discoveries like Mother of Graves, killer death-doom!
This list was painstakingly put together thanks to Year in Reviews, Fanlore articles, Tumblr users feedback and my own memory as a user

What I've Been Listening To- February/March
Everybody doing good? I'm not, been missing a lot of shows and just been feeling bummed. So let's look at some good ol' death metal to fix all problems.
Whether it's legends like Autopsy and Dismember or more recent acts like Gatecreeper and Horrendous, death metal is always there for me.
What I've Been Listening To- January/February
I know, we're well into March now, but life sucks sometimes and I've only just now found the drive to make this.
Savatage! Some good traditional metal, nothing wrong with that. See also: Dio and of course Maiden
Tomb Mold! Still spinning The Enduring Spirit somewhat regularly, hope to see them alive again.
Tzompantli! Another great band, a favorite release from last year, also hoping to see live.
What I've Been Listening To- December/January
Well, America's dying and I have no motivation at all. Still, music keeps me going, so here's a few highlights.
Godflesh! Still as good as industrial metal gets.
Mother of Graves! One of my favorite discoveries from last year, really good death/doom.
The Mountain Goats! "I am gonna make it through this year if it kills me" And I'm trying, John. They've been one of my favorite non-metal bands for years and while I've fallen out of their more recent works, I do like their newest album on top of the classics I still go back to. Should do a deep dive soon.
YOB! Hoping a follow-up to Our Raw Heart is ready sooner rather than later, I think we all deserve one.

What I've Been Listening To- November/December
Yes, I know we're already in January, but what can I say, I've been busy and depressed. So here are a few of my favorite 2024 releases to make up for lost time- I hopefully won't take so long for the next set.
The Black Dahlia Murder!
Blood Incantation!
Crypt Sermon!
Undeath!
Vomit Forth!
