«I feel it burning me.»
It had been a quiet day at the tattoo shop and while the others were having lunch,Andreas lay on one of the couches in the front of the shop fast asleep. He hadn’t gotten much sleep the night before and thankfully he was allowed to have a nap since there wasn’t any appointments or walk ins for a while. It felt like he had been asleep for hours and didn’t want to be disturbed, but he wasn’t going to get that wish. A tap on his shoulder caused him to open his eyes, but not move,he just stared silently at the person who had woken him.
Much as Cyrus wasn't willing to wake the man, he seemed to be the only one available to help him. From what he could hear there were other artists working inside but the vampire couldn't simply walk into someone while they were being tattooed. So his only option was waking the man on the couch. "I'm Tartarus PD." He informed lackadaisically, "Would you mind giving me some information on a client?"
“You look like you’ve had a long day too. Bottoms up.”
"More like long century. What's up?"
“It’s not–” Julian struggled with the exact words he wanted to say, not wanting to reject Cyrus. The guy was his best friend, the closest thing he had to family on this God-less island. He rubbed the back of his neck and sighed. “There an expiration date on this offer?”
“Because it’s you asking, I’ll think it over.”
"You have until your last day on Earth to make up your mind. That's your deadline, in the most literal sense of the word." Only then Cyrus noticed the bomb he had just dropped. But then, again, ever since he got hijacked by the hunters, he couldn't stop thinking about that possibility. "Just–– this would change your life forever and I just want you to know that even if you say no, I'll understand..."
they will not write about us because darling we’re not in love and we both know that poems ought to be about lovers or brothers not best friends halfway in the middle god, i’d never kiss you but our hands fit like puzzle pieces and your smile makes my heart sing and you cried when you said you love me voice thick with fear and awe and i knew then i could break you and that terrifies me because you deserve better but i would die for you when i was thirteen my bedroom window looked out on the big dipper every summer and it made me feel safe but if every star in that constellation went out i’d still have your hands smoothing a brush through my hair (your eyes shine brighter than those distant suns anyway) we are not the stuff of legends in this world where it’s only love if you fuck the stories people want to hear end in a kiss not a high five or a fistbump but if i’ve got you i don’t need to make history and while you do not kiss away my tears you let them seep into your shirt and to me, that is just as good
not every beautiful thing has to be a love story (g.c.r.)

“Forever is a long time.”
"I've spent all that time with Augustus, and–– much as I hate to admit, I still haven't gotten bored. What makes you think that that will happen to you? Well, unless you don't... Unless you don't want to live forever. That would be completely understandable, Jul..."
Julian went quiet, brows furrowing in confusion and then thought. Needing to feed off of Cyrus– to use him for his blood– seemed wrong in Julian’s eyes, but there was a sincerity to the vampire. “And when you get bored of me?”
"Bored of you?" His eyes narrowed as if that were the most stupid thing he had ever heard in his everlasting life. "You're my best friend, Julian. How would I ever get bored of you?"
“Well, I suppose some things do stay the same.”
"What do you mean?" He inquired, with genuine curiosity. "Anything bothering you?"
“Do you think that every president goes through a awkward first few weeks in office when they’re not sure when’s the right time to ask if aliens are real or not? Because I think they do – I know that I would.”
"I don't think many presidents are worried about the aliens. Guess they have more mundane threats, say terrorists, for example?"
“What like a vampire?” Julian was sure to let Cyrus know about how he felt about others of his kind. “I’m not exactly sure that’s the right path for me.”
"Kind of, yes." In fact, it was pretty much that... Though Cyrus hadn't been that attached to someone in a long time. And having his best friend around forever, would be great. "More like a ghoul... You'd keep your powers, though you'd have to feed on my blood."
“I’m sorry, what did you say,I got a little bit distracted by the stars”
"Your wallet. Here's your wallet. I found it."
“You’re still alive? I thought you were dead. Haven’t seen you since that crazy forest shit.”
"Actually, I did die. I was eaten by a tribe of cannibals. But I came back to haunt your ass."
The sight of Cyrus was relieving only because it meant there wasn’t some mutant creature trying to kill him. He sighed loudly, crossing his arms in indignation. “Oh shut up, Cyrus.” Truthfully, he had been worried about his brother more than he would ever willingly admit— though it probably showed in his lack of venom whenever they spoke. He puffed on his cigarette angrily, then dropped it onto the ground and stomped it out. “Do you have any idea where anyone else is?”
Shaking his head, Cyrus decided he should give August a break from his sarcastic remarks. They were all in an awful––maybe, the most awful situation they had been in a long while, so it was on Cyrus' best interest that he stopped teasing people or he would be thrown into the sea or fed to giant monkeys. "No clue..." He admitted, still thinking of where his sire, siblings, progeny and friends might be. He had spent the whole morning looking for them and made no progress as the afternoon came. "I've been searching for them, but found no sign at all... How are you handling?"
“Yeah, consider me a ray of fucking sunshine. Why are you so chipper?”
"If I didn't know you any better I'd have mistaken you for fucking Apollo... And I'm not chipper. I just prefer not to waste my breath complaining about something we can't do shit about because magic is a fucking whore, than being all grumpy about it."
“Does it look like I’m having a good time? Please. Moisture is a god damn nightmare- clearly does nothing for you.”
"In fact, you seem very delighted with our current situation."
