To keep a partner from feeling pressure to do something, always give casual outs in every proposal.
Make it feel reasonable and accepted for them to choose not to do something you propose, by proposing the out yourself.
"Would you like to be my obedient toy for the night?"
This might feel like a reasonable question, and a "Yes" for an answer would be considered consent, but always put yourself in their shoes.
What if they don't feel like doing it tonight, but really don't want you to feel like they're not interested?
What if they consider your attention really special, and don't want to waste a potential session, even though they're not ready for it this night?
This could easily lead to a lot of subs going into sessions they don't really feel like doing, and so, give them the out they feel comfortable taking.
This is you making someone be scared of refusing you.
"Or do you not feel like it today"
This is neutral, and it shows you care about them enough that you accept a no for an answer.
They could still feel like they're letting you down, and so the no would feel bad from their end.
"Or would you rather cuddle silently for the night? <3"
This feels like you yourself want this option too.
This makes both options feel equally desirable, which makes them pick the one they truly want most.
Make your partner feel comfortable. Make them feel like there are never any wrong answers. Let them feel safe and accepted with whatever they open up to you about.
Use this tip with everyone in life, too.
Friends, family, partners, even strangers.
