In her blind state of fury, Bela pushed past Sam and grabbed a guy who looked just a little older than him, who’d been waiting at the bus stop. She put him in a headlock and said “Do you want to test that theory, Sam? Three seconds or I’ll snap his neck off like a twig.”

Sam wasn't sure if he should but he knew his science. If she altered the time stream then the future would shift and she would be stuck. "Go ahead. I guess you'll like being stuck in 2000. Invest in some stocks."

  Sam shook his head. “Sorry, that wasn’t part of our deal. If you’re some sort of demon or whatever can’t you zap yourself back?”

Bela gave an exasperated sigh and pinched the bridge of her nose. “No. Demons can’t time travel. Fine, I didn’t want it to have to come to this but — I may not be able to kill you, but I can kill as many innocent lives in this stupid little town as I want and it’ll all be your fault. Will you be able to live with that guilt, Sam?”

"No you won't. That'll disrupt the time stream and then you'll never get home. You know, if you'd have asked nicely I wouldn't be giving you this much trouble."

  "I can assure you my brother has no trouble getting a girl. Trust me." He grimaces. "Next question."

"There is no next question. All I want now is for you to help me get back.”

Sam shook his head. "Sorry, that wasn't part of our deal. If you're some sort of demon or whatever can't you zap yourself back?"

  "Wendigo in Montana. Why am I still with my brother in 2008?" He asks hoping he’s not some bloodthirsty hunter instead of the respectable person he craves to be.

"Great. Well, that was no help at all." Bela responded with a petulant sigh. "How am I supposed to know? Probably you both can’t get a girl."

"I can assure you my brother has no trouble getting a girl. Trust me." He grimaces. "Next question."

  Sam frowns another question on the tip of his tongue but it’s her town so he nods instead. “Your turn.”

"What hunt is your family on at the moment?" she asked, hoping that it would somehow link to her random teleportation in to the past.

"Wendigo in Montana. Why am I still with my brother in 2008?" He asks hoping he's not some bloodthirsty hunter instead of the respectable person he craves to be.

  "You don’t have to worry. I don’t back out of things. Now, answer my question. How do you know me? I already answered one of yours."

"You better not. Well, I might’ve accidentally bumped in to you and your brother in 2008, back when I was a fragile human."

Sam frowns another question on the tip of his tongue but it's her town so he nods instead. "Your turn."

  Sam pretended to think for him. “As long as you answer my questions then we’re good.” He gave her a mocking smile.

"Do you know what? Fine — but if you don’t stick to your end of the bargain, I won’t hesitate to rip your pretty little heart out. Do you understand?"

"You don't have to worry. I don't back out of things. Now, answer my question. How do you know me? I already answered one of yours."

  Her eyes flashing blood red with anger, Bela reached out, attempting to grab him and yank him backwards by his collar.

Sam gritted his teeth and spun around shrugging her off. “You sure know how to make a guy feel special.”

"Get used to it. Now, I’m going to ask you questions and you’re going to answer them. Have I made myself clear?" she responded, her eyes boring in to his.

Sam pretended to think for him. "As long as you answer my questions then we're good." He gave her a mocking smile.

  Sam frowned and lifted a brow ignoring the comment about his. brother. “You aren’t as scary as you’re trying to be. You work with me and I’ll work with you. If not, I have calculus to do.” He begins to walk away again.

Her eyes flashing blood red with anger, Bela reached out, attempting to grab him and yank him backwards by his collar.

  ——Sam pauses and crosses his arms. “No. I don’t. Because it seems here that you need me more than you need me dead. So, if you’re going to kill me. I suggest you do it now or you work with me. That’s what you have to do.”

"I can see why your brother finds you so infuriating." she responded, glaring at him. "You listen here, alright? I may not be able to kill you but that doesn’t mean I can’t torture the information out of you."

Sam frowned and lifted a brow ignoring the comment about his. brother. "You aren't as scary as you're trying to be. You work with me and I'll work with you. If not, I have calculus to do." He begins to walk away again.

"If you value your life, you do have to.” she responds, reappearing right in front of him. Bela hadn’t intended showing him what she was capable of but he was starting to get on her nerves.

----Sam pauses and crosses his arms. "No. I don't. Because it seems here that you need me more than you need me dead. So, if you're going to kill me. I suggest you do it now or you work with me. That's what you have to do."

          “Well, I guess you’re lucky I pulled this out before it took effect, huh, kid.” Sam replied, deciding to push the roaming thoughts of how this boy looked remarkably similar to himself when he was younger aside.

----Sam nods and frowns. "Who the hell put it there is now the more pressing question but, uh, thanks? I'm Sam." He holds out his hand for the other looking up at him the fleeting thought, Holy shit, he's tall,running across his mind.

"I have to? Why? I don’t have to do anything. 2000, what a dreadful year.”

"Then you don't /have/ to get back to your own time and I don't /have/ to help you." He turns and begins to walkaway.

"You get your life. Happy now? Let’s move on — you can help me by telling me what year this is for a start."

She didn’t even hesitate and stretched her arm towards him. “Go ahead,” she said. A cut by a knife couldn’t really hurt that bad. Also, she’d do anything to ensure him she was really his mother. She had enough of this track-your-family game. And she was just sad and angry because John actually made them hunters which she would never allow if she was alive.

----Sam drags the blade across her arms with baited breath and sighs when nothing happens. Lowering his arm but still gripping the blade, he nodded. "Alright. Make your case." He told her not wanting to get his hopes up. Maybe this was his mother. Maybe she could make it stop. All the moving and the hunting and the madness. Maybe he could finally have the stability he craved.

“Please, Sammy, don’t… I am human, I swear,” she looked at him pleadingly and then gave a scared look at the knife in her son’s hand. “I really don’t know how it happened, I just… I was alive again and I couldn’t find you anywhere… I thought you’d stay in Lawrence but you didn’t… I couldn’t even go to police…” she was starting to feel desperate. He really was a hunter. “How can I prove I’m not some sort of… whatever you think I am?” She hoped he wouldn’t kill her… She hoped John didn’t make a heartless beings of their children.

----Sam glared at her and glanced at her arm. "Your arm. If the silver doesn't affect you then...I'll listen. But only then." He took a step to her and motioned for her to hold her arm out so that he could nick the skin to see if she were some sort of creature.

"You can call me Bela. Relax kid, you’ll give yourself a nosebleed."
