*the combination of power and the threat against his death knights rattles Darion right to the core, making the idea of physically fighting Bolvar very unattractive right now. He thinks of the death knights and how they would be without him, at the same time thinking of Rivendare, barely clinging on to consciousness in his arms. His voice drops to a whisper, his expression turning weary* …No, Bolvar that isn’t fair… you can’t make me choose something like that. I– I need to be there for all of them. The death knights, and him. And if you can’t accept that then do it. I’m surprised you haven’t already. *he holds Rivendare close and gazes steadily at Bolvar*
*shakes his head, just gazing down at Darion* Oh Darion, you always were so... sickeningly emotional. *he sighs* It really makes all this so serious and unfunny. How boring. *he stands up and begins walking down the stairs of the Throne* I suppose I’ll let you have this one, it’d be a waste to just get rid of you both now with the entertainment value you have. *he turns, looking back at Darion* But don’t think this is over. You’ll let your guard down, forget about your slights towards me, and you’ll regret it. I’ll make sure you do. *with that, he continues down the stairs and to the teleporter, and leaves*

Near immediately his resolve hardens, and Bolvar’s suggestions become less and less credible. He moves to half-hold Rivendare, mindful of the blade* Look at him, Bolvar– he’s a danger to no one right now. He’s so weak he can’t talk to defend himself and give a fair side to all this. Maybe I’m a fool to do so, but… from my time with him, I feel that I can trust him, regardless of what he’s done in life. I believe he’s a different man now. And if I’m wrong, let him prove me wrong. *he looks up at Bolvar again, a new determination in his eyes* Please, Bolvar, let him go.
*as he realises his suggestions aren’t working, his expression hardens, and he gives up all pretense of being nice, and puts sheer force behind what he’s saying.* No. Leave now Darion, or I’ll make you watch every second of his horrible, painful demise.

I don’t think he’s ever had an ounce of remorse for his actions, his concern only seems to be for himself, no one else. *his expression turns softer as he looks at Darion* I know you like to see the good in everyone, but forcing some idea of good on someone who has no semblance of it isn’t a good tactic. He’s not worth it Darion, it’d be better for you if you just left and forgot about him.

*Bolvar seems to make a good point yet again, though ordinarily this would be something Darion would probably dispute without thought. Doubt was still present, but things were starting to stack up in Bolvar’s favour very gradually. Darion’s grip on Rivendare’s hand was weaker now, almost tentative* I… but… is he really still a part of the Scourge? Naxxramas is defunct, I thought… *he trails off, there being too much doubt in his mind to finish the thought*

He’s Scourge, and one of Kel’thuzad’s little minions. He stood with Arthas while we fought tirelessly to take the Lich King down. And even worse, on top of all that, he’s one of the key reasons Lordaeron fell to the plague in the first place. That hardly makes him one of the good guys, does it? Wouldn’t it be better for everyone if he was dead for good?

In this pathetic state, it was hard to imagine him as much of a villain at all. This action makes Bolvar smirk for a second, before he turns his gaze back to Darion, as though waiting for him to speak rather than speaking himself*
*freezes up, staring in horror at Rivendare and Bolvar. Any words get caught in his throat from the pure shock of it all. Throwing caution to the wind, Darion runs forward to kneel by Rivendare, examining the wound with dread* Oh fuck… what… Bolvar, what did you do?!
*doesn’t seem that bothered by Darion approaching, and just shrugs* I took my crown back, and gave him- *at that Bolvar kicks Rivendare in the side, earning a slight pained noise from Rivendare as the blade digs further through into him* -the punishment he deserves for taking it from me to begin with.
